The Grounds: Just a step outside of your door is the sweet water pool for your exclusive use; Laguna Vista boasts a glass mosaic freeform custom designed and built swimming pool for your pleasure.
Designed by your hosts and built by Watermania, this is a pool built to enjoy. A grand staircase allows for graceful entry into the pool even with a cool beverage in your hand.
With a standard depth throughout allowing any and all to wander about, this is a social gathering area unsurpassed in Utila vacation rentals. Benches designed into the walls are perfect for conversation gathering points, with one including Jacuzzi jets for a simulating back massage at your pleasure. A waterfall adds the pleasing sound of relaxation to complete your experience.
When you're ready to step out and dry off, you can sit in the comfort of a private champa at the water’s edge that shields you not only from the sun, but is perfect for anything from quiet reading time to a jovial atmosphere or even for a private party.
The champa, with a non-skid terra cotta floor, has indirect lighting, ceiling fans, flow through ventilation, and plenty of seating to provide after pool enjoyment.
If you desire, a private bar can be set up in a matter of minutes for your convenience or to entertain should you have guests.
We strive to make your vacation as effortless as possible. Standard services include arranging pick up and return to your point of origin on the island, and provisioning and stocking prior to your arrival, if requested. Massage is available onsite for those wishing to indulge, and yoga mats are available upon request.
For those wanting to enjoy the diving that Utila is famous for we can provide a private dive boat with personal professional Dive Masters/IDC Instructors, or special arrangements can be made with select qualified local dive shops to include you in their groups. Certification in Diving is available from Beginner all the way to Advanced using Dragerâ„¢ Dolphin Rebreathers and Closed Circuit Units. Diving alternatives such as horseback riding, boating, sailing charters, 4 wheel excursions or guided nature walks are only a request away. Laguna Vista also has access to the best in Catch and Release Deep Sea Fishing Charters, having custom boats on call with Captains who know and fish the sea surrounding the Bay Islands.

The house and property is exactly as advertised. The hosts are fantastic. They helped us rent a golf cart at a Great discount, arranged private flights to Utila from Roatan and helped with all aspects of our stay on Utila. The pool and cabana area is definitely the hangout spot at Laguna Vista!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have been pondering for some time how best to summarize our incredible vacation to Utilia. It starts and finishes with the 5 star (Honduras style that is:) hospitality Tony & the lovely Jo showed us (quite literally, they were there to greet us when we arrived and departed). EVERYTHING and more was arranged even before we arrived. Transportation to Utila from Roatan, beers and groceries in the fridge for when we arrived into our very well appointed Laguna Vista accommodations, romantic catered dinner, scuba diving, island tours and ever important daily insights and recommendations of the "ins and outs", things to do, etc while vacationing in Utila. It is really better than the pictures.My wife and I stayed at both Laguna Vista and The Gardens which were definitely some of the very best accommodations on the entire island - you can truly sense the "pride of ownership" that T&J have in their livelihoods. Without Tony & Jo's ever gracious help, our trip would not have been one of my truly best vacations ever. I don't often say this about all the great destinations I have been fortunate enough to visit (because I crave "new adventures"), but I WILL BE BACK to Utila and that will forever start with Tony & Jo! Please and thank-you Tony & Jo. It is through the two of you that we now have all these fond and wonderful memories. Until our paths cross again. What to say--great place! Roomy, clean, well lit, good bathroom, well stocked kitchen. I couldn't find a vegetable peeler, and I didn't bring a hair dryer thinking there would be one there. So nice to have a pool to cool off in the afternoon. Be prepared for Spanish speaking taxi drivers, though they give you a cell phone for the week and the taxi listed in the contacts speak English. Easy walk down hill to town, but after snorkeling, eating and drinking it was easier to pay $3 for a taxi back up the hill.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Laguna Vista is a charming place, Patricia Navarro and I are very happy to have decided to spend our honeymoon there. Our hosts Tony and Jo were the best! The pool was delicious and was perfect for a moment of relaxation. The champa is a magical place to be. The attention of Juan was very good. Patricia also really enjoy the massage Jo gave her. Thank you very much for all the attention, and also ate the best chicken wings ever!!! For sure we will come back on another occasion. My first visit to Honduras was a pleasure due to Tony and Jo! From the moment I stepped on the dock from the ferry I was at home. The lovely Laguna Vista property is located in a quiet neighborhood walking distance to town. Although you are away from the noise of bars and restaurants they are less than a 10 minute walk away. It is also conveniently located to grocery stores within walking distance. The apartment, and all Tony & Jo's properties are clean and feature air flow from three directions that allows you comfort without running air conditioning. There is cable, free wifi, fresh apple bananas and flowers, clean high quality linens. Purified water is provided in a 5 gallon jug and will be replaced almost before needed. Coffee, sugar and creamer is provided so you can retire to your room upon arrival without worry for the next day. Tony and Jo are an amazing resource for Utila activities. Tony has done diving all around the island and can hook you up with a dive shop that can provide whatever dive services you require. Some dive shops even pick you up at the properties and drop you off when all is done.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had such a great time staying at Laguna Vista. We were able to walk to town, enjoy a bakery close by and had transportation to the dive shop. We enjoyed the pool and the palapa area by the pool. This was our second trip and we are already planning to return. We stayed at Laguna Vista for a week earlier this month and I wanted to provide some brief feedback. In short, the house, Tony & Jo, and the island were fantastic! My wife, I, and our 2 boys (10 and 8) had a blissful week! Swim in the pool, use the kitchen, walk down to the bakery, eat at Charlotte's, go dangle your feet at Babalu's, go get a drink at Treetanic.... It's a great way to spend time, and Tony and Jo help make you immediately comfortable and at-home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Staying on the beach is awesome but at some point it is awesome to move into the village itself; walk the streets and see what Utila Town is all about; for that the Laguna Vista is fantastic, especially if you have small children. Having the pool and the champas makes for a very relaxing way to chill out and de-stress.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: Canadians Peter, Joan, Tatianna, and Cody have purchased Laguna Vista! Being life long Canadians and living with winters that can sometimes be extraordinary, having a second home in the Tropics is perfect for us. Laguna Vista was purchased with our retirement in mind, however with that still a few years in the future it is available for our guests to try the lifestyle that is Utila; we're sure that they will fall in love with it like we did! Mantained by our good friends and on site hosts Tony and Jo, long known as 'the go to people' on the island, we all strive to make your vacation Utila as effortless as possible. If you need anything, they can usually make it happen for you. Their enjoyment of people and of being able to assist with almost anything has been a hallmark of their excellent reputation on the island for years.
Why the Owner Chose Utila:
We purchased this property following a visit with Tony & Jo whilst they were in Canada visiting family, who are also our dear friends. At that time we had no interest in purchasing another property, and in fact had never even heard of Utila! After hearing about the lives and the lifestyle that they enjoy we knew it would be right for us, too, and we purchased Laguna Vista. Our subsequent visits to the our Tropical island home have validated our decision many times over. There is a certain lifestyle that is Utila, and it is the lifestyle we want to enjoy in our retirement. We are now set to do just that when the time is right!

The most unique benefit of our home in the Tropics is having the custom pool literally right out of the front door and the custom champa just steps from the pool. In Canada private pools are few and far between, especially in our province, and to have one at the ready at any time of the year is remarkable to us. The fact that the property is maintained and upgraded constantly by Tony & Jo has made it a unique addition to our portfolio, and a boon to us and our guests! Being within walking distance to the heart of town yet just far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle makes this perfect for us, and we think our guests will appreciate the same things!
