The residence is also complete with a full size kitchen, including all the accouterments needed to prepare everything from a quick microwave snack to a gourmet meal from the grill top or from the oven.
The Grounds: Just a step outside of your door is the sweet water pool for your exclusive use; Laguna Vista boasts a glass mosaic freeform custom designed and built swimming pool for your pleasure.
Designed by your hosts and built by Watermania, this is a pool built to enjoy. A grand staircase allows for graceful entry into the pool even with a cool beverage in your hand.
With a standard depth throughout allowing any and all to wander about, this is a social area unsurpassed in Utila vacation rentals. Benches designed into the walls are perfect for conversation gathering points, with one including Jacuzzi jets for a simulating back massage at your pleasure.
A waterfall adds the pleasing sound of relaxation to complete your experience. Have a desire for more? Just a step from the pool and you are in a custom Jacuzzi with seating for up to six adults.
When you're ready to step out and dry off, you can sit in the comfort of a private champa at the water’s edge that shields you not only from the sun, but is perfect for anything from quiet reading time to a jovial atmosphere or even for a private party.
The champa, with a non-skid terra cotta floor, has indirect lighting, ceiling fans, flow through ventilation, and plenty of seating to provide after pool enjoyment.

Guests at Laguna Vista are also covered by the services of Aeromedical Services S.A., who provide state of the art medical transport via a Sikorsky S92A amphibious helicopter from the island to a major hospital on the mainland, should that need arise. Year Purchased: 2006
Canadians Peter, Joan, Tatianna, and Cody have purchased Laguna Vista! Being life long Canadians and living with winters that can sometimes be extraordinary, having a second home in the Tropics is perfect for us. Laguna Vista was purchased with our retirement in mind, however with that still a few years in the future it is available for our guests to try the lifestyle that is Utila; we're sure that they will fall in love with it like we did!
Mantained by our good friends and on site hosts Tony and Jo, long known as "the go to people" on the island, we all strive to make your vacation Utila as effortless as possible. If you need anything, they can usually make it happen for you. Their enjoyment of people and of being able to assist with almost anything has been a hallmark of their excellent reputation on the island for years.
Why the Owner Chose Utila
We purchased this property following a visit with Tony & Jo whilst they were in Canada visiting family, who are also our dear friends. At that time we had no interest in purchasing another property, and in fact had never even heard of Utila! After hearing about the lives and the lifestyle that they enjoy we knew it would be right for us, too, and we purchased Laguna Vista. Our subsequent visits to the our Tropical island home have validated our decision many times over. There is a certain lifestyle that is Utila, and it is the lifestyle we want to enjoy in our retirement. We are now set to do just that when the time is right!
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
The most unique benefit of our home in the Tropics is having the custom pool literally right out of the front door and the custom champa just steps from the pool. In Canada private pools are few and far between, especially in our province, and to have one at the ready at any time of the year is remarkable to us. The fact that the property is maintained and upgraded constantly by Tony & Jo has made it a unique addition to our portfolio, and a boon to us and our guests! Being within walking distance to the heart of town yet just far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle makes this perfect for us, and we think our guests will appreciate the same things!

Where to begin......Tony and Jo are more than our hosts, they are our friends. This was the second time we have stayed with them; and our trip was more than just a vacation, but an experience. Our kids loved them and the island. Our youngest son (14) didn't want to leave the place or the company of Tony and Jo. They made sure all of our needs were met, and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We were there during Semana Santa, which is probably the busiest week of the year. Tony and Jo saw to it that we had access to what we needed on the island without having to deal with the hassle of the busy week and crowded areas. The place is great, beds comfortable, and we loved waking up to the sounds of the jungle birds......so nice!!!!! Really didn't want to leave. I would encourage anyone that wants something different to try Utila and get to know our friends, Tony and Jo.
Owner response:We do make a point of trying to make your vacation at Laguna Vista as effortless as possible. Doing the little things like having your reserved golf cart waiting for you, or stocking the cupboards so you don't have to chase down provisions when you arrive are easy for us ~ and it doesn't consume precious time out of your vacation.
