Perfect

Guest: Patti (Seattle)
Date of Stay: 05/03/12 Review Submitted: 05/10/12

We recently stayed and the cabin for 4 days as our family reunited for a weekend, it was just perfect and the pictures really cannot describe how beautiful this place is inside and out. It is just beautiful inside, the decor is gorgeous and everything you could possibly want or need is there, just bring food and a toothbrush! The cabin is immaculately clean, the beds are comfortable, and the views are stunning. We will be back!

My family had a wonderful experience at the cabin. It was all we hoped for. The only negative thing is no phone service. There were calling cards left by the owners but the circuits were always too busy and for 4 days we had to drive down the mt to make a call. We will be prepared the next visit. The owners were very welcoming and we appriciate the sharing of their cabin with us. Had a great time.

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay. Cell phone service is very spotty in the Mountains this is why we have a land line and ask that you give friends and family the phone number to the cabin. We have had many guests stay with us and have never had a problem with the long distance phone cards.

SIMPLY AWESOME!!

My daughter is attending Toccoa Falls College. We went up last week to spend a few days with her. This house is AWESOME!! The property exceeded my expectations of a rental property. The house was fully furnished, nothing was skimped on, top of the line everything. If there was something I forgot, Mandy had it at the cabin. Having the gas grill as a cooking optoin was great;the kitchen and everything else in the house was wonderful; The outside swings/rocking chairs and porches was great. We spent much quality time relaxing and enjoying each other's company for a few days. My 3 year old grandson was able to fish for the first time in his life and had such a ball. BEAUTIFUL PLACE!! Thanks Mandy and Dennis again for sharing your awesome house. This woul dbe an awesome place for a 2nd(or 20th) honeymoon location or a girls get-a-way. I cannot imagine anyone of any age renting this house and being disappointed. We will be back :)

Perfect winter getaway

The house is wonderful. The pictures do a great job of showing everything. Mandy drove us up and showed my wife around while the dogs and I explored the property. The children loved the big bedrooms. We all loved the big kitchen. The dogs loved the yard as it wrapped around the pond. They just kept running laps. The kids spent more time outside in the first two days then they have in the last two months (we live in St. Petersburg Florida and they hate the heat, dogs too.) Everything in the house worked perfectly. The washer/dryer are very efficient. With the fireplace, we never set the heat above 71 degrees. It was clean and had everything we needed. Even though it was 35 degrees one of the dogs decided to swim in the pond. She wasn't in long and we got her dried off in the mud room next to the kitchen. That was the only pond incident. The house is right next to Sky Valley near the North Carolina border. The children went snow tubing at Scaly Mountain (10 minutes away) and we went shopping in Highlands NC (20 minutes away). I'd suggest the Cupboard Cafe in Dillard. The burgers are excellent as are the potato pancakes. I had a chicken fried pork sandwich: excellent. We got a peanut butter cream pie and enjoyed it over the next few days. I'd suggest you go to Clayton and shop the Ingles instead of Piggly Wiggly in Dillard. The PW was expensive, had limited selection and some of what we bought had been thawed and refrozen. Besides the Ingles has a very nice beer and wine selection and you can buy on Sunday (not in Dillard). I recommend the house to anyone. It is easy to get to, but far enough off the beaten path. It is comfortable and homey. My wife refused to pack the night before so she could enjoy it as long as possible. It made for a hectic Saturday, but we did get the most out of our time there. Now that we have arrived home and unpacked I noticed several Real Estate magazines my wife picked up. If she liked the area enough to consider moving there it has to be wonderful. And I will add, last year we went to Ellijay: we enjoyed the Northeast mountain section of Georgia more than the Northwest; just for anyone considering both. Easier drive, more to do (lots of places in the Northwest close in winter) and better views.

We had a wonderful time staying here! The kids and the dogs loved running around the yard. This cabin is very clean and fully stocked with everything you need. We even had some snow showers on the morning we left! Thank you so much Dennis and Mandy for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin. We are planning to come back in the spring or summer next year.

Another Fantastic Week!!!

Guest: JuJu (Jacksonville, Florida)
Date of Stay: 08/14/11 Review Submitted: 08/24/11

Our family of six enjoyed our second week at the cabin. The weather was perfect! We even saw a double rainbow after a thunderstorm. It was much cooler this trip than last year. Our five year old granddaughter caught her first fish in the catch and release pond. The cabin is well-appointed and so clean. The trail behind the cabin is fun to walk. We shopped in Highlands and Cashiers, antiqued in Franklin and Dillard, and ate at the Dillard House and Cupboard Cafe. The granddaughters requested another trip to Babyland General and adopted new babies for their two birthdays. We enjoyed a day at Santasland near Cherokke, not crowded, cool, and lots to do. I had a high school friend spend two days with us and she loved it too. We will return!!

Our Spring Break Vacation

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! Your house was the cleanest rental home we have ever stayed in, well-stocked, and in a great location. The surroundings are breathtaking, and there are plenty of things to do. We went shopping at Highlands, whitewater rafting at Chattooga, ate dinner at La Cabana and the Dillard House, and went sightseeing at Tallulah and Muddy Creek Falls. It was a wonderful trip and we look forward to visiting again!

The Pictures Do Not Do Justice! This Hidden Gem is Spectacular!

We have stayed here several times and absolutely love escaping to this gem of a cabin and getting away from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta! Our dogs actually love coming here as much as we do! Mandy and her husband are always very accommodating! But please do not tell too many people about this place, as we still want to keep coming back! ;)

Awesome Vacation in the Mountains

Guest: Tiffany (southeast FL)
Date of Stay: 03/26/11 Review Submitted: 04/05/11

My husband and I took our dog with us and we all had a great time. The yard is completely fenced in, so we could let our dog run around all day. Every morning we walked up the mountain via a trail behind the cabin. Being from FL, we loved the cool weather. It was nice doing outdoor activities without being drenched with sweat. The view from the cabin was beautiful. There is lots to do, plenty of parks and waterfalls to check out, or you can just chill at the cabin and hike the mountains around you. The actual cabin itself was quite large and spacious. We had two adults and two children stay the night with us and there was plenty of room. The two bedrooms upstairs open up to the balcony. The master bedroom is downstairs with it's own ensuite bathroom. It was cold at night so we lit the fireplace every night, which adds a nice ambience feeling. We just left a couple of days and we already miss it. I can't say enough about this place! I hope we can return one day. I already have a few friends that asked for the information once they saw my pictures. There is no internet service at the cabin, but the grocery store Ingles (in Clayton) had wifi if you need to check anything during your stay. But, you will soon forget about that once you see all the beauty you are surrounded by.

Our stay here was amazing! The other reviews hit this place spot on! It was like staying in an upscale cabin with the added bonus of a large pond that our three dogs and my son loved. Everything was impeccably maintained and Mandy was so sweet and helpful and relaxed! We are planning on making this a twice a year getaway.

This property exceeded our expectations and even the description & pix on the site! The location is great - not in town (YAY!) and not too far out. The house, property and surroundings are quite ideal and relaxing. Everything was neat and clean and well maintained. Dennis & Mandy showed us around and made sure we had what we needed before leaving us. They are excellent hosts! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Chachi, our pup, enjoyed her stay too! Bless you!

There were six of us for our six day stay in June. Dennis met us in Dillard and took us to the cabin. The cabin is on a beautiful property, is very spacious, well equipped. and offers so many things to do. We ejoyed the hot tub, fishing, the swings, and all of the outdoor space. We met Mandy on the final day and were so happy to be able to tell her how much we enjoyed the stay. I hope we can come again very soon.

Andrew and I looked for a cabin that allowed us to bring our two dogs: Grimm (German Shepherd) and Cash (Boxer mix) with us. Lo and behold we found this cabin, and boy oh boy we couldn't be happier. We had awesome views (since the leaves hadn't sprung up yet), and we had a blast. It could be the first time either one of our dogs actually tired out. We loved how we were shown everything as well as how we could just bring our suitcases (and dog crates), food, and we were set to go! As a matter of fact, we love the cabin so much we hope to be able to spend the first few days of our honeymoon here :) You will NOT be disappointed!

Thank you so much for letting us stay in the cabin for the weekend. Everything was so nice, clean and organized. It was even nicer than the pictures show! Our boys loved the hiking, firepit and hot tub. Our dog loved the pond. It was great to get away, and thank you for allowing us to come up on such short notice! Thank you for the great information that you passed along to us once we arrived. It was a huge help in deciding how to spend our day! We really hope that we'll be able to come back soon. It truly was a perfect weekend!

My husband and I stayed at this great cabin for a weekend last summer, and it was perfect. The entire place is very neat and comfortable, and so relaxing. We hiked the trail behind the house, went to the local park (which has beautiful scenery and waterfalls), then ate a late lunch at the Dillard House. A great vacation. Highly recommended.

This cabin is great! We had a wonderful week and were treated like family. It was completed supplied and spotless. The view on top of the mountain was wonderful and the sunsets were beautiful. Lots to do around the area. Beautiful waterfalls, shopping, activities and lots of good resturants. We also enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor swings w/firepits. Then after all the fun we would sit by the fire in the cabin and just relax. I would highly recommend this cabin. Mandy and Dennis (owners) were wonderful!
