This is a special place for quiet, serene family, or couples vacation. Sit back, truly get away from your daily routines. There are no TVs,internet, DVD’s or phones; just you and the picturesque lake, sunrises, surf, sand, woods and gentle breezes.
Our smaller cottage ( MacBess ) has the woods to the back, sun and surf to the front. This is a cozy cottage, perfect for two, but does sleep 4. There are two bedrooms , a wood burning fireplace is in the vaulted Family Room which is adjacent to the well equipped kitchen. There is also a stone patio, charcoal grill and a screened in porch. One queen, 2 twin beds.
Our larger cottage has 3 bedrooms, fireplace, grill, and deck. There is 1 queen bed, two twins and a double and a twin on the sleeping loft.
The Beach has rolling grassy sand dunes which lead you to water's edge where a series of three sand bars allow you Lake Michigan for a variety of uses; wading and splashing for the youngest, cooling and swimming for the more advanced and wind and body surfing for the more adept. To the south and north are miles upon miles of endless sandy waters edge affording leisurely walks, or bicycling. You are provided with beach furniture, sun umbrellas and for evening enjoyment a bonfire pit.
Area Attractions: Kohler - Andre State Park hosts a variety of activities for all including boardwalk trails through the sand dunes, picnic areas and a nature center. There is the Kohler Arts Center featuring exhibitions, Performing Arts Summer Theatre, Weekend Workshops, Classes and Camps for your children. Other attractions in Kohler, WI, are the American Club offering fine dining, a spa retreat, the Kohler Product Center and The Shops at Woodlake. Golf destinations include Blackwolf Run, The Meadows, Whistling Straits, The Irish Course, The Bog and The Bull. Charter fishing is available out of the Sheboygan Harbor for those that love the open water, fishing and sun.

We love this place, best sand/beach anywhere, hopefully they will start renting Barbadon (winterized) so that we can come up for long weekends in the late fall and winter. You really have to see it to believe it, we will always be coming back.

My husband and I have been renting here for almost 20 years - we honeymooned here! SteNicStuBil (larger cabin) has every amenity you need, and nothing you don't . . . (i.e. no TV, game system, knick-knacks, etc.). The kitchen is large and easy to cook in, the fireplace is cozy on cool evenings, and the beach - well, the beach is what keeps us coming back year after year (with friends, kids, etc.). Take a long walk, canoe, wade, bodysurf, or just doze on the shore of a seriously large body of fresh water. Watch the moon rise. Stick around and watch the sun rise, for that matter. Or sleep in to the sounds of an ever-changing lake. Do all this, just not when we plan to come!

We have rented this Oostburg getaway for three summers in a row, and it is such a wonderful place to visit. The beach is breathtaking, and the cabin is rustic and charming. My wife and I have a three year old and she often talks about our trips to the beach. It is located very close to Chicago, about a 2 hour ride from our northwest side condo, but feels like it is 1000 miles away. I highly recommend this location for a long weekend or a week long family vacation. The owners could not be more accommodating to my wife, daughter & myself. I have given our secret away to friends and family and everyone has been absolutely delighted with our little vacation getaway.

Our family has rented the larger unit for many years, foe one week each summer. We have several children and grandchildren, and have thoroughly enjoyed the time we have spent there. The cottage is very comfortable and well furnished, and the owners have been wonderful to us. Plus, the beach and lakefront are marvelous. We hope to return for many years.

We have been coming to Oostburg for the last 15 years or so and renting with Nikki and family -- who are excellent hosts. We started vacationing at the cabins with babies and now come every year with teenagers. Every year, we look forward to leaving our technology-heavy homes and returning to simpler splendid beach life. Both cabins are comfortable and perfect for smaller or larger families. They're on a fantastic stretch of practically private Lake Michigan shoreline. Although the property is barely a mile or two away from Highway 43, it feels very private and quiet. It also is quite close to a full-service grocery store and excellent bakery in the town of Oostburg as well as great restaurants in Sheboygan and Kohler. We always find time to visit the ice cream shop at the American Club in Kohler and have amazed many visiting friends at the Kohler design store and museum. We all can't wait to get back there this summer!

I have been coming to these cottages for as long as I can remember and they are still my favorite place to go!! I am now 24 years old and even though I don't go with my parents anymore I still find at least a weekend to spend at the beach. I brought my Fiancee here last summer for the first time and she fell in love with the place. She keeps talking about bringing our children here, that will be a while from now!! But everything about this place is just pure relaxation, there are no tv's, no phones, nothing to distract you from just getting away from it all. When Don and Maurine were alive they were basically my third set of Grandparents, and now that Nicola has taken over it is like I have a second Mother. This is honestly one of the best places on earth!!! I will be coming back every year for the rest of life if I can!
