San Carlos house description
Beautiful home on large tropical lot with WiFi, Satellite TV, Resort Size Pool with in-pool bar stools and a large bohio surrounded by hammocks with a wet bar and refrigerator. Full bathroom at the pool, outdoor grill & 3 outdoor showers. Beach access is a short 5 minute walk down a tropical trail used by locals to to gather oysters at low tide. Close to all the area has to offer including great restaurants, mountain adventures in El Valle, and you can walk to the famous surf beaches of Rio Mar and Pal Mar from the property.
A brand new 24 hour modern clinic is located in Coronado, just a 10 minute drive away. There are several golf courses to choose from close by. Spend your days relaxing in the pool or lounging on the hammocks in the bohio. An often deserted beach is at your finger tips for dips in the the warm blue ocean or long walks.
The property is located approximately 110 km from Panama City in the town of San Carlos which is nicely positioned between the resort areas of Coronado and Farallon allowing visitors to conveniently take advantage of all the area has to offer. The road to El Valle is just 2 km from the house. Many of the area's best restaurants are close to the property and the beach is just a 5 minute walk from the house. Much time was spent researching the area to be sure the property was in the perfect location to enjoy all of the attractions on the pacific beaches of Panama.

A fabulous stay
A fabulous stay
Drive off the busy highway on the ouskirts of San Carlos and arrive at this absolutely beautiful and well kept oasis. The house has all the amenities one would want. The grounds were immaculate. We spent our days mostly poolside enjoying the cabana and dipping in the beautiful pool. The owners go out of their way to make one's life as comfortable as possible. Love this place

Passing through the entrance to this property you enter a lush, tropical paradise and instantly congratulate yourself on your vacation destination planning. We lounged away the hours in the hammocks hanging in the huge thatched outdoor space, and also enjoyed floating in the pool in the shade of the palms, and photographing the property's banana, lime, papaya, and mango trees. When we could motivate ourselves, we took the scenic 5-minute walk to the private beach where we saw hermit crabs and dugout canoes and enjoyed the rolling waves of the warm ocean. The house is well-appointed. Beds comfy. Rooms cute and clean. Beautiful views. Caretaker lives on site. The owner was responsive to our questions and provided a handy guide of the area's many restaurants and activities. A fun day trip to a nearby mountain town (nestled in the crater of an inactive volcano) offered a market, a rain forest hike, animal attractions, and restaurants. A trip into Panama City to tour the canal was also really fun and convenient. We look forward to going back and staying again. Highly recommend.

My wife and I can actually say that the pictures on the website are for the most part pretty accurate. The outside of this home is beautiful, they have a great looking swimming pool, two great looking patios upstairs and downstairs, where you can watch the day go by. Near the pool, you have covered beach chairs, you can also barbecue inside the Bohio that can accommodate your entire family. The views from the pool and from the house are really nice. That was the best that the house has to offer. Hector seems like a nice person, but he tends to disappear for long periods of time, leaving you to you to fend for yourself. In all fairness to him, he took me to the fish market, showed me around town and to a great restaurant that we enjoyed during our stay. On the negative, the inside of the house was filthy. We discovered stains on the sheets that smelled like urine or something that you wouldn’t want to sleep on, there was dust everywhere and bugs of every type all over the house. The worst of it is that the owner has not invested in mosquito screens for the windows and doors, which forces the guest to close the doors at all times, thus loosing the use of the tropical breezes during the days and evenings. The kitchen was falling apart. All of the amenities were dirty and the stove was not efficient. This house just needs some TLC and it would be a jewel in San Carlos. It appears that whomever is in charge of cleaning inside the house before the guests arrive does not think this is important. The light fixtures around the property are cracked and falling apart, the barbecue pit was dirty and it took a few hours to clean it, the filtered water in the kitchen was suspect, the ceiling fan on the first floor is noisy and kept us up all night and the shower needs a good scrubbing and sanitizing. By the way, the CD music player did not work and the cell phone that was promised for the guests was missing in action. Overall, the San Carlos house has potential but lacks the attention to detail.. I am sure I am like most vacationers that do not mind paying the advertized prize if they are getting the basics right. My recommendation to you is do not stay here until you can get a commitment from the owner that he will ensure that all of the above things are taken care of off before you arrive.

Owner response: I regret that this renter was not satisfied but I could tell from our first contact that he might be the type of person who is difficult to please. I acknowledge that some of the details around the property were in need of some TLC but he seemed to go out of his way to make complaints and even invented problems that didn't exist. For example, there are screens on all of the windows (but not the sliding doors), the cell phone is there and functions perfectly, and the radio/ipod dock works fine. Enough of the negativity.. here is how we addressed these issues. We visited the property the week after this renter left and had to dismiss our caretaker and house keeper. They were with us a long time but became lazy. We hired a new caretaker and he kicks butt. The place looks great! We replaced all of the bedding, towels, and many items in the kitchen. The house has been cleaned from top to bottom. Please look at the reviews over the past 5 years and even the review the month after this renter. We have put a lot of time and effort into making this a place that people will really enjoy and I feel confident that these issues have been thoroughly resolved!
The home is very nice, with everything you would need. The pool and cabana were perfect for cookouts in the evening. We had a rental car, and drove to El Valle one day to do some hiking and horseback riding which was great! A couple of friends also rented surf boards down the road at Panama Surf School, which they had a lot of fun doing. Oh, and two thumbs up for the empanadas at Carlito's!!!! Overall a great stay!

Relaxing place, great pool & grounds
Relaxing place, great pool & grounds
The house met with all our expectations & was as described. Any minor issues were dealt with quickly by Hector, the manager. To make your stay more comfortable air conditioner is needed in living area, (not a deal breaker). Definitely need a car to get around, good selection for grocery shopping, expect to get lots of R&R by pool.

The house was exactly as advertised. Pool was awesome. Everyday it was around 90 degrees . Ocean was warm to swim in. Hector the caretaker was very accommodating . Went to El Valle, rode 4x4, had massage and shopped. Toured Panama Canal and old Panama City. Panama people were very friendly. The house was just perfect. Recommend for a great stay.

GREAT EXTENDED STAY GETAWAY
GREAT EXTENDED STAY GETAWAY
Based on previous written reviews, along with the listing description and photos, we selected this property above all the others for our extended Panama experience. We weren't disappointed! This beautiful place is very private, yet near all the things you might need or want to see. The house was clean and nicely decorated, has a well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable beds, but the pool and bohio are really the stars of the property. The extra-large pool has a shallow end for non-swimmers plus a fun swim-up bar. The bartender isn't included, but the bar has a small refrigerator which you can stock for self-service. There's a small sink and an outlet to plug in the blender if you want to whip up some fancy drinks! Hector, the property caretaker, is invaluable and will help you with most anything you need, even your Spanish! A stunning beach is a 5-10 minute walk downhill from the house. During our stay, the trail leading to the beach was widened and smoothed for easer walking, or access by car. At low tide there are hundreds of tide pools to explore, a variety of interesting shells for beachcombers, or the option to take a long beach walk in either direction. Being somewhat adventuresome, we decided to go without a car for 6 of our 8 week stay. The Panama bus system is excellent. The buses are air-conditioned, fares are inexpensive, and a convenient bus stop on the Inter-American Highway is just a short walk from the house. Even if you have a car, a short bus trip is worth the experience. Hector will even walk you to the bus stop to make sure you board the right bus. Whether you're considering a long or short term visit to Panama, we highly recommend this lovely, relaxing place, where the weather was consistently beauftiful. After living there for 2 months, it truly felt like our home away from home!

THE PERFECT VACATION
THE PERFECT VACATION
Just what the doctor ordered. Private, tranquil. well-kept, great amenities - everything you need. Kitchen well-stocked. Bohio great in the evening. Two large supermarkets 10 minutes away in Coronado. Hector, the groundskeeper, is very friendly and helpful. Only the 2 bedrooms have A/C. Perfect for 2 adults or a family of 3 or 4. Will definitely return.

Just returned from two weeks in beautiful San Carlos Panama. The accomodation at this property is outstanding; the house is well maintained and has every amenity needed! You will be thoroughly happy spending the day by the large sparkling clean pool, or your choice of beaches; either for surfing (which my two teenage girls loved) or swimming. The house is well situated for day trips and the roads the best we have seen in Central America. Any question's you have or concern's are handled by the helpful always smiling caretaker! We definitely would stay at this property again!

My family and I truly enjoyed our week in this house! The house was beautiful and well furnished with all the modern conveniences. The pool was great too. Even the beach down the hill from the house was picturesque. Hector the property manager was professional and extremely courteous. He made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We are recommending this rental property to all our friends!!!
