I reluctantly went to Punta Mita for Spring Break but was surprised by what a great spot it is. We loved the villa. It was well decorated and very well maintained by Imelda and the owners. It was more than enough space for our family of 5, though we spent much more time at the Beach Club than at the villa during the day. The weather was spectacular. Having the Four Seasons and the St. Regis so nearby is an added amenity though I don't feel like we missed a thing by staying here instead of at one of the resorts. The only hiccup we had was that the golf cart was not working properly. But after an email to the owner and a quick response, we had one rented and they took care of the cost. Overall, it is a great spot. Truly relaxing and well worth the visit.

Thanks Ileana for sharing your beautiful home with my three children, my wife and I. Your home is beautifully decorated and has everything that we needed for an amazing stay. I cannot think of one thing that was missing. The backyard is beautiful with the pool and hottub and lots of areas to lounge comfortably. Our kids split their time between the pool and the beautiful beaches. Imelda was our housekeeper/host for our stay and she was very helpful. The place was always spotless. The sunsets were beautiful. We had not heard anything about Punta Mita but it is beautiful with spectacular rugged shoreline and amazing beaches nestled inside. The golf cart was great for travelling to the tennis club or the residents beach club which has pools, a great restaurant and a play area for the kids. The gated area of Punta Mita has about 7 developments (of which Las Palmas is one) and two outstanding hotels, The Four Seasons and the St. Regis. The grounds are pristine and although I didn't golf, the courses look spectacular with one course having the only natural island green hole in the world. Just up the coast is the cool town of Sauyalita which is a surf town. They had a world class surfing competition the Saturday we arrived. Lots of fun and the people are very friendly. The town of Punta Mita just outside the gates has some greats restaurants right on the beautiful beach. You will not be disappointed with a decision to stay at this house and the beautiful area of Punta Mita.

To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to take our whole family on the trip of a lifetime that would be a 'never to forget, wonderful experience". We knew we wanted Sun, Sea and not too far from California. It was easy to narrow down our choices to Mexico, and then we started looking for a beautiful location. We all got into the act of searching the web and our two daughters soon came up with some excellent choices. We quickly decided on property #230068 which turned out to be a lucky number for us. When we arrived in Punta Mita we were bowled over by the beautiful home we had chosen for our celebration. To understand how wonderful this home is you have to experience it for yourself. It is even better than the description. The security personnel were efficient and soon we were all walking through the different rooms, past the word "WELCOME" spelled out in red bougainvillea petals, and beyond the atrium with a waterfall, open to the blue sky above. Choosing the best bedroom was not easy but we already knew we had chosen the best location. Within minutes of our arrival our grandkids were enjoying the sizeable pool and we were all meeting Imelda, who was going to be our cook, cleaning person and helper for our daytime needs. She helped us find everything we would need and showed us how all the electronics worked. Our entire family (10) has resolved that they want to come back next year and we have already earmarked a date. The owners were really gracious and attentive to our needs. They answered all our questions and made our stay one of the best vacations ever. There are many other facets of this home to be aware of, like the location, the excellent beach club, the Jack Nicklaus golf course with an unusual 3rd hole out to an island green, fishing and surfing nearby, and the amenities of the house such as a golf cart, ATV, superb BBQ, inside/outside showers in each bedroom and perfect weather. The villa is graciously appointed, however it still feels very much like home. Our grandchildren ages 14, 13, 10 and 8 want to revisit it as much as we do. Many thanks to Ileana and Ernesto for a wonderful experience. See you later this year. Cath and John McGhee, San Francisco Bay Area, California.
Owner response:John and Cath. Thanks so much for your lovely review and comments. We really would love to have you again this year. It was a pleasure having you at our villa.ileana

Ileana, I just want to thank you for the wonderful days we spent at your villa. Everything was just great! I was impressed to see that you thought about everything to please your guests when you decorated the villa. It is really great for all ages!! The children spent hours playing and swimming at the pool. The sound system is out of this world. The biggest asset is to have Imelda helping the guests (housekeeping) not only with the cleaning but whit the cooking (breakfast). I also want to thank you for all the recommendations on restaurants in the town. They were all great. We have rented other villas (mostly in US) but this has really been the best! We will surely go back soon!!

Last month we had the opportunity to rent this gorgeous home in Punta Mita, we were in total 6 adults and 5 kids, ranging from 58 years to 6 month old. I am going to start with the punta mita resort, the resort is only 45 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta Airport, punta mita is an exclusive luxury resort, you can have lunch or dinner at the Four Seasons or at the St.Regis, play golf at two amazing golf courses, tha bahia or the pacifico. The house had everything and more than we were looking for, 4 full bedrooms with bathroooms, two of them with a bathtub and an outside shower. The swimming pool and the jacuzzi were the best for us, my kids and nephews spent all day in the pool, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the swimming pool is heated, so it was great for us mexicans who likes warm water. The house rent includes Imelda, she was great, and she can cook a great ceviche, and she knows everything you need to know from the house and from the resort, she help us with the food, buying groceries, she is a great aseet to the house, the owner Ileana is just a call away, and she willl take care of anything you may need. The best of all is that you can have a luxury vacation in one of the best resorts in Mexico at a decent price. The golf cart in the garage is another great asset, Punta Mita town or community is just 5 minutes away, in Punta Mita you can find 8 different options for lunch or dinner, I would recommend the Rosa Mexicano, is great but try to get there by 8:00 AM, punta mita restaurants are on US time, by 10:00 PM they are closed. I am plannning to make this vacation at least once a year, it has been the best vacation so far mith my entire family. Enjoy....

Ileana, I just wanted to say once more what a wonderful time we had in Punta Mita! It was especially nice to get a chance to meet you as well. We hope to see you one day in Utah and we will do anything we can to make your visit as enjoyable as you made ours. We can only hope that the rest of our visits will be as memorable as the first one was. We would like to also extend an invitation to you and your family that if you are ever in the Washington DC area I hope you will let us entertain you for an evening, perhaps drinks and dinner and if your sons’ would like a local for a DC tour guide of the monuments, museums and government buildings there is no substitute for a local and I’d be happy to do it. Ileana, We just got back last night and I wanted to thank you for a wonderful time in Punt Mita. What a beautiful home! We loved it! All the fine details really impressed us. The amazing front door, the courtyard as you enter, the beautiful modern kitchen, the amazing bedrooms and bathrooms, the sound system, the pool and spa, the BBQ, too much to list. What a great location on the golf course. At night the kids would run ime. I also love the little side yard where we played a few games of football. Also, the golf cart and especially the ATV was a big hit with our children. I wanted to tell you how much we appreciated Imelda's help throughout the week. She is amazing. She made us feel very welcome and relaxed. She made our trip truly memorable. Thank you also for the reserving the golf for us. We ended up playing both courses and loved them both. The Beach Club was also very nice and we enjoyed days at both the St. Regis and the Four Seasons. We also ate at Sufi one night. We took day trips to Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita which were very nice. Mainly though, all we wanted to do was come back to your lovely home and relax. We had some very good meals in the house including some fresh Ahi tuna we bought at the dock in Punta Mita fresh off the boat. It was truly an amazing trip and we hope we can come back very soon. If you are ever in Los Angeles give me a call so you can be our guest for dinner. Please feel free to give my name and phone number for any referrals you might need. Sincerely, Brian Clarke (310) 629-4268

Hi Ileana, I have been meaning to drop you a note as soon as we got home. We had a fabulous time in your beautful villa! Everything was just perfect - we relaxed, enjoyed the pool and jaccuzzi, the beach and had great food and margaritas. Imelda was pleasant and made great Mexican breakfast. Imelda took good care of us. We look forward to having you and your family stay in our home. I hope you have as wonderful experience in our place as we did in your villa. Thanks again for sharing your villa with us! Warm regards, Patti

I have rented villa 8 in three ocassions over the past couple of years, once in February and twice in Christmas. The service is exceptional. I have not had any issues. Ileana is completely trustworthy and an exceptional communicator. We stayed at the Four Seasons before we discovered Villa 8. You will find Villa 8 to be perfectly located and I much prefer it over the Four Seasons. I have also stayed at Hacienda De Mita in a penthouse unit on the beach. My experience at Hacienda de Mita was not good. Las Palmas is a private setting. You walk or take a golf cart to everything. The layout of the bedrooms In Villa 8 is great. We had children and grandchildren staying with us. Upstairs is the best master suite you could imagine which contais a huge bedroom, deck, bathroom with outdoor shower and lounge area and a seperate entertainment room. While everyone was hanging out downstairs around the pool and hot tub we would often retreat to our own oasis..

I had the delightful pleasure of spending a long weekend at the villa last June (2009). Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a lovely girl named Imelda. The villa itself is warm, spacious and so tastefully decorated. The thing that I remember most is all the pillows! I think we even counted over 120 pillows and laughed saying surely they must have copied a bit of heaven in the design of the place. The bedrooms were serene and peaceful and I slept better than I had in weeks on the firm, comfortable mattress, wrapped in bedding fit for a queen. The cheerfully orange main living room had big couches and a cozy atmosphere. By day we danced around the house to tunes from our IPods blasting from the fabulous surround-sound stereo system and lounged around the pool, taking in the sunshine and devouring our trashy novels. By night we hung out in the jacuzzi and thoroughly enjoyed stargazing, drinking and indulging in girl talk till after midnight. Each afternoon around sunset, we would take a ride in the provided golf cart through the rolling green golf course, sprinkled with palm trees and lovely homes and head to the sea. There, in solitude, with our glass of iced-chardonnay, we would sit and watch the brilliant sun against the pinkish-purple sky slowly drop into the pacific ocean. This fully-loaded, beautifully-decorated, gorgeously-surrounded, quiet villa was exactly what we needed! It was an escape from the hustle and bustle of our busy everyday lives and a nurturing way to reconnect with ourselves and each other. We both left the place feeling completely rested and pampered, ready to go back out into the world to do it all over again, each of us noting our calendars for this same type of glorious treat from now on at least twice a year ?
