This is a cozy and affordable get away. Twenty miles from Rome. Just off Coosa river and lake Weiss (crappie capital of the world). Locally known as Brushy branch. We have canoe and kayak rentals available. Come paddle the creek or just paddle around in the lake, Fantastic stripe bass fishing April-September. Fish for large mouth bass, crappie and catfish any time of year. We frequently see eagles ,osprey, beavers, gulls, geese, foxes and other wild life. Cedar creek comes into lake just above home and is great for paddling. Kids love to fish off the dock where we have a fish feeder set up and the bite is always on! The summer water level (March-September) allow boat docking in front of the home. Winter water levels (October-February) require launching at ramp less than a mile away.
Home is on dead end street. This area was an old fish camp for years and has a mix of year round homes and campers. Boat and pwc use is good but you should let us give you some tips on navigation.

We spent a very relaxing weekend here while attending my granddaughter's graduation from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. The accommodations couldn't have been better. The deck overlooking the water was my favorite place, but the home was clean and well suited for our purposes. The owner was delightful, courteous and helpful (especially with directions). Travel time to and from Rome was much less than anticipated and well worth it. The facility was definitely a home away from home with all the amenities necessary for cooking & serving (indoor or out). I would highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys fishing, boating, just simply peace and quiet, or entertaining a large family in a home away from home. I'll certainly return for another visit when I can - and look forward to it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My family of six stayed here during our Thanksgiving 2010 vacation to visit family in Rome. It's a cozy little place, very nicely situated in the woods next to the lake. Of course, being fall of a drought year, the water was low. Our children and their cousins, ranging in age from 7 to 17, had a great time wandering in the woods and along the lake shore and playing on the pier. It's a little way out from Rome, but we could easliy be in Rome in 15-20 minutes and into Armuchee in 25-30 minutes, so we didn't mind the drive. We will definitely stay here again. It was a very nice inexpensive alternative to our normal hotel accommodations. We will actually be able to visit our family more often with the lower costs.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
