If you love a cabin with spectacular views of the Sierra Mountains then our contemporary two-story home is the place for your fall/winter getaway. Cathedral ceilings with large windows let the sunshine in throughout the day. A peaceful, quite residential community allows you to walk or bike around the neighborhood, read a book on the large deck or in the cozy living room or just sit back and enjoy the serenity. The loft on the second floor has plenty of room for an air mattress with a TV and DVD player. There is also a TV and DVD player in the second floor bedroom.
Like to cook, our large kitchen is fully equipped including quality dinnerware and pots and pans. Enjoy winter meals overlooking the snow covered beautiful pine trees on the property. Less than 5 minutes away there is a Mexican and Italian restaurant and the famous, local landmark restaurant in the area is the Steam Donkey at Pinecrest Lake. A must to visit with great food, a full bar and the charm of an old rustic, country inn.
Whether you visit in the winter or summer you will never run out of things to do in this mountainous area of the Gold Country. During the summer there is Pinecrest Lake, just 7 minutes away, where you will find swimming, fishing, boating, picnicking, hiking, relaxing on the beach and watching movies at the outdoor amphitheatre after sundown by the lake. Antique shopping in downtown Sonora, heart of the Gold Country, is only 1/2 hour away, as well as several golf courses, plenty of shops and panning for gold in Jamestown. You are also only 1.5 hours to Yosemite Park where you can spend the day or two and still have the amenities of a cozy cabin to come home to after visting this Wonder of the World.
The winter season offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoe hiking at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, ice skating at Long Barn Lodge about 10 miles from the cabin and plenty of great hills in the surrounding areas for sledding.
