Situated on 5 private acres and overlooking 250 feet of pristine, private beach, our cottage provides a wonderful setting for a great vacation. Enjoy the view of the lake from the cottage, from the new deck or walk down the steps to the beach. No roads, woods or "short walks" to the beach. This spectacular cottage lets the lake embrace you.
Lake Michigan is so large (120 miles wide and 350 miles long) that it feels like the ocean without the salt water and sharks! The water is usually warm in the summer for swimming, sometimes calm as glass and other days with huge rolling waves. Walking miles in either direction is a favorite pastime...so is hanging out under the umbrellas. Building sand castles, splashing in the waves, enjoying campfires and reading in the hammock are just some of the joys of being at the "big lake". Games on the lawn, picnics on the deck, chasing fireflies into the evening, watching an unforgettable sunset with friends and family...this is what connects us and what wonderful memories are made of.
Inside, coziness and connection abound. A screened-in porch invites an evening glass of wine, family games and conversation. The living/dining room boasts 7 sets of French doors opening to the lake on one side and to private woods on the others. Turn the music up, open the doors and dance on the patio. Or light a fire, cozy up on a couch and take in the beauty seen from every window. The kitchen invites participation with a central island and lots of counter space. Preparing meals can become a communal affair. Dark wide plank floors, white walls, antiques and spectacular cottage furnishings have all been carefully chosen so that you feel like you are are a cottage, but a very comfortable one.
Special amenities include a hot/cold outdoor shower for rinsing off beach sand, a regulation bocce ball court on the bluff, a hammock overlooking the lake, shady and open deck areas, blue and white striped towels and straw beach hats in abundance.
Venturing away from the beach, you can visit Saugatuck or South Haven, each about 10 minutes away, or other little villages nearby. There you will find shopping, galleries and fun and funky restaurants. Playing golf is easy on one of the many area courses. Bicycling on trails or country roads has also become very popular. A summer highlight is visiting the outdoor farmer's markets in Saugatuck or Holland which offer up the rich bounty of the area. Picking your own blueberries, raspberries, peaches or apples is always a highlight with young and old alike. Boat rentals for sailing, motor boating or fishing are nearby. Windsurfers and wave runners are also available to rent.
In any season,you can experience the wonder of Lake Michigan. Great times are waiting for you. Come stay at the cottage and share a piece of our private paradise.

Owner's Map of Saugatuck
We grew up in Michigan enjoying Lake Michigan. We moved to Colorado in 1968 and missed the water so we found this land with a little cottage on it. We vacationed there for many summers with our family. In 1995 we built the present cottage, adding the deck and covered gazebo last year. The cottage holds many dear memories of time spent with family and friends. Many others have stayed at the cottage over the years and each has signed a rock which we have displayed in the living room reminding us of all the good times shared there.
