  After a great deal of research and reading the reviews and trading messages with the owner, I booked this condo for an 8 night stay. I regretted it from the first moment we arrived. When we got there, we were greeted by our "personal concierge" who was a very nice man, but not of much assistance. We immediately found that the condo was not clean or stocked. The kitchen was cluttered with various things. The sheets on our bed literally had dirt on them, there was no toilet paper, no paper towell, and despite the website claims and even having checked with the owner and being told linens and beach and bath towels are provided, we found for a family of five we had a 3 day supply of towels that at my home would literally be car wax rags. To the owner's credit, my complaint brought on a 3 hour maid cleaning that improved the cleanliness, but the standard still fell incredibly short of even a 2-3 star hotel. The sheets were still worn, the beds uncomfortable, and the towels still nonexistent. If you rent at Nautibeach from the rental pool you get towels from the condo. I found myself wishing I had done that just so we would have decent pool towels. In fact, I took a taxi down to the large market and bought 5 extra towels just so we could have something to use. Despite these troubles and being displaced for a whole day while the maids came and the air conditioners were being fixed, the owner offered nothing to make things right, and denied my request to leave early and rent somewhere else. I was so disappointed, I spent the first couple days trying to find somewhere else to go and feeling "crushed", and even though I could not afford it, I considered leaving anyhow and paying for a second place. The website is very misleading. This view is amazing, the island is amazing, but the beds, linens, stock, and condition of the place remind me of my grandparents small log cabin in the upper north woods, just not quite as nice. Leaving this gives me no pleasure, but I would not want another family to be misled into the same mistake I was.

  Owner response: I am so disappointed after the fact to receive this review. It is true that my concierge forgot to stock the condo with toilet paper the first day, he apologized up and down, offering a drink to the family at the on site restaurant. Even though the maid had cleaned thoroughly the day before, we sent her to do everything over. We apologized and responded immediately to the guests who had already decided to move. I did deny a free departure before we had the opportunity to clean again. I understood that the guests seemed to prefer a move now that they were on Isla and had the opportunity to shop around. I received no new complaints after the re-cleaning on the first day. As you can see in other reviews, it is a total anomaly. This is the first I have heard the complaint about sheets and towels. We stock 2 bath towels, a wash cloth and a beach towel per person in the condo. I buy them in the USA, 400+ sheets and medium thick towels as the super thick ones you get in a 5star take forever to dry. My condo is clean and comfortable. I strive to provide a hominess and character not found in hotels. Each year in September we review the linens and comfort of the mattresses. Last January they were in very nice condition with egg crate toppers to give added comfort. The a/c had broken the week before during a happy guests stay...even though it was hot without the a/c. The elderly threesome reported that the condo was fine with ceiling fans and breezes. They chose to stay. All new compressors and mini splits are installed now. I am happy to give a 10% discount to all return guests and appreciate the many of you who come year after year. Safe Travels, Shae

• Lovely stay!

  My husband, myself and our 2 children (4 and 8) just returned from a lovely week-long stay at #23. I did loads of research on the island and various places to stay before booking, and we both felt that we had picked the best of all possible places for our needs traveling with young kids - specifically, having easy access to a pool and the beach. The condo is a perfectly situated unit as it is directly over the pool and has an amazing view as it is on the 3rd floor. The high ceilings give it an airy, light feeling. Both of these things I think make it superior to other units in the development. The condo was clean and equipped with everything we needed, and I also appreciated how clean the entire development was - there always seemed to be someone tending to the hallways or pool area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The stucco and Mexican tile detail also give this property a warm, authentic feel, compared with some of it's more modern neighbors. The pool and beach area were also lovely, spacious and clean - the beach sand was groomed every morning - and I noticed on morning walks that the sand on neighboring properties was not as clean. The on-site restaurant is a bit more expensive than some others but a very welcome lunch option at lunch for hungry kids who don't want to leave the beach. It's lovely to sit at the tables on the beach - I recommend the fish tacos! The condo is close enough to a variety of great restaurants that it's an easy walk (even for little ones who are tired from being out in the sun all day) but removed enough from the bustle to feel truly quiet. We really enjoyed strolling up and down lively Hidalgo Avenue for dinner, and then returning to the quiet of the condo, with just the sound of the waves at bedtime. Our kids also loved the bunk beds, and even though it was on the 3rd floor the wide, shallow steps were easy for our 4 year old to navigate. One thing for families with young children to consider: for the first half of the week there were several other families with children who were great playmates for our own, by Thursday they had left and almost the entire development was booked for a kind of music festival, which was an older, not as child-friendly group. Not sure if this is happens regularly, but we will book around an event like this when we return, as we didn't feel quite as comfortable. Worth asking about first. Besides that, we could not have improved on our stay and look forward to returning to condo Glorious!

• A terrific vacation!

  My family (two adults, 8-year-old, 21-month-old) and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views, comfortable accommodations, terrific location on a gorgeous beach with inflight-magazine-quality waters. Very close to town but not noisy. The property was safe and secure, and the property's staff were friendly and helpful. We had ants in the kitchen, but this seems inevitable at that latitude; anyway, a soapy sponge-down of the countertops drove them away for a few hours. Otherwise, the place and the property were very clean and well-maintained. Everything worked out as we expected and hoped, including the airport-ferry transfer we arranged with an associate of the unit's owners. The only exception to our otherwise very satisfying experience was that we didn't get the mid-stay housecleaning., but it wasn't really a big deal. I would definitely return!

  The condo was wonderful and Nicole was great. We had everything we needed. We have stayed at Nauti Beach many times, but this was my favorite condo. Nauti Beach has everything at your finger tips, great beach area, wonderful pool, location close to great restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. We will be back!

  Hi Shae, Just wanted to tell you what a great vacation we had at Casa Marlena and at Nautibeach. The house was beautiful and we really enjoyed being there. It was a little quiet for us after a few days. So the day we had to return the golf cart we moved to Nautibach. Thank you for allowing us to do so. It was good to be able to see both rentals. We were really impressed with how beautiful the beach was. And how easy it was to just walk to town. I plan to book Nautibeach for a future vacation. Hopefully next March again. It was by far our best Mexico vacation. We have some friends that are interested in your rentals so I will be passing the info on to them. Again thank you and be looking for our next reservation.   The condo is wonderful and comfortable. There were 2 of us but we didn't use the 2nd bedroom. The view out the balcony to the pool and the beach and ocean beyond is wonderful. The kitchenette was all we needed for breakfast and snacks every day. Donna, your property manager was the best and always available by email, even by skype when we had to call her once. We had the place to ourselves, mostly, as this was low season (late August/2009) and only a few condos were rented or occupied. The local eateries that people recommended to us were safe and delicioso. We walked everywhere because it was just too easy. Didn't need a golf cart, never took a taxi. I have never put my feet on sand this soft or waded almost 1/3 mile out into the water and still be waist deep. How nice. Would definitely come back!!! The condo and complex is very beautiful, and private and quiet, yet not even 3 minute walk to the so called downtown area. Best of both worlds. Thank you.

  GREAT place - could not be more kid friendly. From the beach to the unit to the locals and the property manager a very easy vacation. Very comfortable, great location, amazing views. We will definatley be back.
