This beach house is beautiful! The location is great...close to the beach, race track, and many fantastic restaurants. The property itself is charming and very well maintained. With the cool summer weather in Del Mar, the front porch is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and the ocean breeze. We look forward to our next vacation at this stunning beach house.

Cozy and high quality vacation home. We stayed with mother-in-law and two adult children and loved every minute! Great kitchen and porch for long, lingering evenings of great food and wine. Perfect!

We shared this home with another family and the vacation was excellent. The house is as described and as photographed, perhaps even better. The front house is very charming and very well maintained (the owners stay here often). The owners were very nice and helpful, bringing over a blender for morning smoothies the same day I called to ask if they had one, as well as leaving us a welcome gift of flowers and fresh bread. The back unit is above the attached garage and very spacious. Seeing the proximity to the train tracks and busy street I was concerned about noise, but that was a non-issue - in fact, our kids enjoyed watching the trains go by. The beach is super close and there are bikes and a wagon to help you on your way to town and the park. Arriving and checking out were a breeze. I would stay here again for certain.

I grew up in Del Mar and we return every summer to visit the grandparents, but we always need to rent a home due to a lack of space at my parent's place. I have rented no less than 10 homes in this area, and this one is by far our favorite. The main cottage is very well designed. Two bedrooms (one is a bedroom or office; the other is the master). The best feature is the patio area in front. It is perfect for entertaining or just hanging out. There is one inside dining area, and two round tables on the front porch (with gas heaters above that keep it very cozy). There are several sets of french doors that open to the patio. When it's all opened up, there is tons of room. All of the fixtures and furnishings are top of the line, and it appears that no expense was spared. In fact, the place does not appear to have been remodeled for use as a rental (otherwise it would not have been as nice as it is). As nice as the front cottage is, the upstairs unit is the real bonus. We have two teens, and multiple teenage cousins. The upstairs unit is separate, with its own entrace, bath and kitchen. It is wonderful to be able to totally separate the adults (in the downstairs) from the noise and "energy" that teens bring to the world (which we left upstairs). As much as I love my kids, I love them even more when there is some separation between me and them while we're on vacation. Finally, there is a clean garage with lots of beach stuff and a washer/dryer, a great place to put our surfboards & wetsuits. Plus, a hot water outdoor shower in back for after surfing & beach, and a clean, well maintained in-ground spa (not one of those stinky fiberglass jobs....I hate those). We look forward to returning next Summer, and working with Peter A. to line up our next rental - Peter is the guy who manages the place for the owners -- honest, helpful & responsive. Great qualities when you're renting on VRBO.
