High atop Reva Ridge, lofting over mountains, water, and sky stands the retreat at STARVUE LODGE. Far from city lights, this is a place where even Colorado natives marvel at one of the most dramatic views from a home in Colorado and in all of North America. The central location is close to Leadville, a short drive to Aspen (in the summer), Vail, Beaver Creek, Silverthorne, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Ski Cooper, Salida, and Buena Vista. After years of searching, we hand-picked the land as 'the' perfect place to build a log cabin in Colorado. With 360 degree views of the highest mountains in the Colorado Rockies, this home was originally built as our family summer retreat and is now welcoming guests and their dogs from around the world.
This home is managed by Black Wolf Lodging which gives you many advantages over other properties. First, 10% off rafting trips this spring and summer. Next, you are checked in personally by a local, someone who lives in and knows Twin Lakes. We can answer your questions about what to see and do, what is open at that time of year and where the favorite hideaways are that only locals know. In the winter we have access to unknown snowshoe and snowmobile trails and in the summer we can tell you what the local trail conditions are and about the best photo opportunities. Mostly though, we are in the neighborhood 24/7 to assist you with any problems that may arise, not hours away and potentially unreachable. Finally we have access to specials like discounted lift tickets and raft trips that others don’t offer. Black Wolf Lodging, the only locally owned and operated vacation home rental business in Twin Lakes.
Great for couples, families, company retreats, or those wanting a motivating place to write a screenplay, novel or launch the next high-tech company. StarVue Lodge features a 'great' great room, 'mountain-overlooking' master suite, 'motivational' office and library loft, and wrap around porches facing south and west. A separate downstairs quarters features a large bedroom, bath, and family room complete with the most dramatic walk out basement in the world...seriously.
When our family vacations here, we typically plan days around hikes and canoeing in the lake and over to the ghost town for lunch, climbing the local mountains, dinners in Twin Lakes Village, day trips to Aspen, Vail, or Breckenridge, exploring Leadville, and rafting or hot spring trips within a 30 minute drive.
Here, the nights are truly special. The name StarVue comes from both the unimaginable view of the stars, as many as can be seen in the world without a telescope and clear and crisp as if they were a hundred miles away AND the view of Star Mountain nestled between two of the tallest mountains in America. In fact, the master bedroom was designed so that you can watch the stars as you go to sleep.

Spent an amazing week at the cabin during the fall. Came from Maine for a week in the Colorado high mountains and had the most incredible trip. The location is second to none, with the most amazing views of Twin Lakes, Mt Elbert and numerous other 14ers in the area. I spent many mornings with my coffee taking in the views, the alpenglow, and even saw some antelope one morning cruising past. Great spot for all - those who want to climb and hike some of the highest mountains in continental US or those who want a relaxing day, maybe a short hike or canoe on Twin Lakes and picnic lunch (great for kids too), or even those who want to just sit on the deck and take in the breathtaking scenery. The cabin is elegantly hand-crafted with fine attention to every little detail, situated with some of the best views imaginable, you might not want to leave.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Beautiful, spacious log home situated in a spectacular setting with awesome views of Twin Lakes and the highest peaks in the Colorado Sawatch range. Great "base camp" for hiking Mt. Elbert, La Plata Peak, and Mt. Massive. Conveniently located approx. half way (15-20 miles) between Leadville and Buena Vista for groceries, restaurants, etc. The property was well maintained, very clean, and accurately described in the VRBO listing. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, scenic location from which to enjoy the best of Colorado's high mountains and outdoor activities.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The views from this property are stunningly beautiful! I could not have imagined a prettier or more serene setting. The log home is gorgeous with great attention to detail and awesome views from every window. The property is very private. We had great trout fishing in the lakes, hiked the Colorado trail to the old Interlaken Inn, took a day trip over Independence Pass to Aspen and gazed at the 14ers. We also loved that we were able to bring our dogs, and they had the time of their lives! My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is a one-of-a-kind location and cabin. All the creature comforts we could hope for. Close to Twin Lakes to get out on the water and great restaurants in Leadville. We'll be back again for sure!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cabin is the quintessential getaway. Twin Lakes is nestled among the tallest peak (Mt. Elbert) in Colorado. As I looked out west towards the peaks over the lake below, I knew we found the perfect place to stay -- lots to do here. We hiked, we went out on the lake, hung out at the Nordic Inn to eat. The features of the place are like home -- we read, played board cames on the porch, made awesome dinners. If you want a Colorado get away, this is THE place for any season.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This home is fantastic and the views of the lakes and mountains are breath taking. The pictures listed here are great but still do not compare to the in person experience. Will definately see you next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Twin Lakes Village View on map
Tiny oasis in the mountains where time stopped in about 1965. Restaurant for lunch, June's General Store is great for souvenirs, cool shirts and snacks. We always grab snacks and pop and sit on the steps and watch time stand still. Canoe rental place is usually open in summer, call ahead.
