This special place lies within the protected National Marine Reserve and has one of the few living corral reefs in North America. If your timing is right, you may witness dozens of endangered sea turtles making their way home to the ocean for the first time; view the sunrise over the ocean. If you are looking for pure serenity, abundance beauty, colorful wild birds, sea breezes, star gazing and an incredible house that offers the ambiance to relax and reflect on life, Casa de Bajaja is ideal. The house is perched on a small hill that provides unobstructed views of Las Barracas Bay within the Sea of Cortez. The beach across from the house is lovely and you will pretty much have it to yourself. I recommend sleeping outside on the wonderful cots that are native to this region. Cabo Pulmo was a short drive and Mermaid Beach is just a few minutes past Cabo Pulmo, which offers some of the best snorkeling and has kayak rentals. The beauty of the surrounding area where the casa is provides an incredible natural setting of mountains, desert and aquamarine blue of the sea in a 360 degree view. Because the house was so amazing we cooked in every day and enjoyed every minute of our time there. Waking up to the sun rise over the Sea of Cortez is breathtaking.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
