Then look no further. La Bergerie is in the village of Trausse - a Minervois vineyard village.
A fabulous renovation of the original barn used in the village in the 1800's to keep the sheep safe at night. The 4 bedrooms are individually designed with local colors and the bathrooms are spectacular. The lounge and dining space is tiled in yellow and red tiles that are reminiscent of many French grand homes in the south of France. The garden is over 10 metres long and has 2 eating areas and nooks for quiet reflection. Be prepared to live your dream by renting La Bergerie. PLEASE NOTE BOOKINGS ARE MINIMUM OF 1 WEEK - BOOKINGS ARE SUNDAY TO SUNDAY ONLY

Extra adults and your children 18 and over are an extra $150/week per guest.
Rentals Oct-Mar please add $100 for heating.

HI we are an Australian couple that had an idea of buying a house in France in 1997....we did it 1 yr later and now now have 3 houses we rent to other lucky people plus we live in another in the same village with 2 more scheduled for renovation. We use local people and invest in french furniture- antique marble tables and wash stands as well as new beds/ new kitchen etc...we live there from mid may till mid /late sept....having a drink/olives with us in the garden is mandatory!!!..we look forward to welcoming you to TRAUSSE
Why the Owner Chose Carcassonne
We bought in this village because it is off the beaten track - yet large enough to have services and vendors come into the Square each day. The village has great walks and of course it has 4 vignerons and the majority of the people are involved in making AOC Minervois wine (reds/roses/whites)....we are a Minervois village....listen to the bells, talk to locals ..and yet we are within 20K's of Carcassonne and 3 hrs drive to Barcelona!
The Unique Benefits of this Barn
As we are there for 5 months per year you can also enjoy some great sights and experiences when you visit Trausse. We walk 2-3 times a week into the mountains- to hidden churches - ancient sites/villages now in decay, plus the ability to visit over 100 plus wineries ...20 + reachable by push bike. The markets of the Minervois towns of Olonzac and Carcassonne are famous, as well as the castles of the CATHARS. The weather is magnificent and we enjoy lunches in the garden - and walks in the evenings.
