What a relaxing, pleasurable and memorable weekend! The views are breathtaking and the surrounding area is beautiful. My family and I were so pleased with the cleanliness and appearance of the cabin. It was equipped with everything we needed. The owners are very kind and helpful. Eric was very informative and answered all of our questions in a very timely manner. We really loved the location of the cabin because it is deep in the woods but only twenty minutes from town. There are endless activities to do at the cabin and in town. We made many great memories down at the creek. It was a weekend that we will never forget and will be going back again soon!

I have never been in Payson before and I just got back from spending a great weekend with my family in this cabin! It was a great experience, I was a beautiful place, very clean, very spacious it was way more than I expected to see. The creek is beautiful and they have absolutely everything that you might need in the cabin. The view from the cabin is amazing, and I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone. We all loved this place, and hopefully we can go back soon!

This is our second time to Eric’s cabin and it won’t be our last. (Nov 09 and Feb 12) What a wonderful place to just unwind and enjoy the beautiful Payson outdoors. For us, we are more than happy just staying at the cabin cooking, listening to music, playing games and sitting by the huge fire pit with a bottle of wine. The cabin is nicely put together and is more than comfortable. All you need to bring is your meals. The kitchen has everything you will need, the beds are comfy and everything works well. (except the BBQ Grill) The pictures on the site are accurate. Everything is very clean and well kept. Eric is reachable and more than helpful. We found the hot water to be turned off when we arrived and one call to Eric resolved the issue. This is the perfect location for us, less than 2 hours from our door in Glendale to the Cabins front door!!! Can’t beat that! Love this place and will come back again and again.

I think this cabin was amazing and I have to say that the pictures don't do it justice. The cabin was clean and had everything you could want or need in a "home away". The pantry was even stocked with some delectables that had obviously been left for our enjoyment by the owners and/prior guests. The kitchen was well-appointed with new appliances and plenty of cookware/dishes. And don't get me started on the luxurious bathrooms (jacuzzi tub in master, rain showers, fluffy towels). Even though the cabin is relatively isolated, there is so much to do on the property, you won't want to leave. There are sleds that are fun to go down on and trust me, you can definitely get a good work out going up! We fired up the pizza oven and made some delicious pizzas. The creek was beautiful and not too cold (my daughter "fell" in multiple times). Nearby there was a fish hatchery and we had a mini snowball fight up there. At nightfall it was just peaceful to sit on the porch and relax. The cabin can easily sleep more people than 8 (I can't prove that for sure...yet). In addition to the master bedroom (with a king-size bed and full-size futon), the 2 bedrooms downstairs that could sleep two people each, and the couches in the living room and the loft, there were also 2 extra twin-size mattresses in the master bedroom closet! I loved waking up to the beautiful view (huge trees, a blamket of snow, the grand canyon rim). This is my new winter haven and I can't wait to go there again and again and again!

My family and our family friends took a joint trip and really enjoyed the cabin and its surroundings. The creek was beautiful and relaxing and my two year old loved the play structure (he even mastered the rock climbing wall)! I needed to catch him from every slide though due to a pile of rocks near the bottom of the slide (which would have been dangerous if I did not catch him after each slide). We went to Woods canyon Lake and rented boats one day, then headed to Payson for pizza and Dairy Queen. All in all, I highly recommend this cabin. The sleeping arrangements were great and there was plenty of room for all 8 of us to hang out comfortably together. We let the teenagers have the upstairs master bedroom (which sleeps at least 4) and my friend and I (and my 2 year old) claimed downstairs bedrooms! The cabin was elegant and clean and Eric Lira was very speedy in his repsonses to my questions. All in all, we had a great time and would come to this cabin again!

To say that your cabin was "perfect" would be an understatement. Thank you for over delivering. Tony and I had a great time. We got up there around 4pm on Friday...I immediately hit the stream and with 1 cast pulled a beautiful rainbow trout (10") out...2 casts later less than 20 feet down stream hooked another (not sure if it was an Brown or other) 14" trout. Both of which were caught in less than 15 minutes and eaten within 2 hours. Our plans were to fish all day Saturday but Mother Nature had other plans as she covered us in a hefty snow blanket Friday night... Not a problem as we used the indoor time to brainstorm some business projects. Great time and the place was immaculate, the decor and appointments were outstanding (really 5star). I would be happy to tell anyone thinking twice that your set up is everything and more... I showed my wife the pictures and my son especially liked the trout stories and I hope to be able to bring them up sometime soooon! TP 4/11/11

We recently stayed at Eric Lira's cabin this March. The cabin was just as nice as the pictures show. It was very clean, roomy and well stocked with all the supplies we needed. The property itself was private and beautiful. My husband and daughter had a great time fishing at the creek, they caught a few small trout. The pathway to the creek is a little steep for little ones ( I have a 4 year old and two year old) but not a problem at all for others We will definitley be returning to the cabin again for some R&R away from the city.

Two Adults and two kids spent the weekend here. The instructions and directions Eric provided were clear and easy to follow. Our stay was wonderful. The only thing I wanted to change was our departure date! I wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin is completely equipped with everything anyone would need. It was spotlessly clean. We cooked an early Thansgiving dinner and had no problems doing that -- the kitchen was better than mine at home! It's in a quiet wooded area. We had a great time exploring around -- even walked up the road to the fish hatchry which was a nice workout and really interesting. We loved the creek which is on the property. Overall a great experience and we want to celebrate another holiday here!

My family had a wonderful time at "the cabin in the woods" , as my 2 year old affectionately called it. The layout worked out great for our family. The master suite was upstairs, so the grandparents had a little privacy when they needed it, and two bedrooms downstairs so that I wouldn't have to worry about my 2 year old with the stairs during the night! The cabin was beautiful and the property provided nice access to a scenic portion of the creek. We loved making campfires every night and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. There are so many recreational activities nearby, along with the towns of Payson and Christopher Creek, which made it an ideal location. We really enjoyed feeding the fish at the Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery and looking for fossils at the Paleo site (just off 260). Eric is a wonderful host and very accessible for any questions. Can't wait to come back! Thanks, Eric! Kelly Williams

Our family absolutely loved the property with access to the creek and within walking distance of marked trails. The bonfire pit was the main attraction for the guys who gathered and burned a lot of wood!!!! The cabin was exceptional in every way; comfortable furniture, beds and lots of counter space for cooking; which we did a lot of. The owner promptly answered my questions leading up to our visit and returned my damage deposit immediately. My kids want to return right away; we will undoubtedly rent this property again.

After a long and taxing softball season, our teenage girls wanted to spend their fall break "vegging". This was the perfect place for it - watching movies, sitting in the sun, relaxing by the stream. And when they were ready to start moving again, there were plenty of hiking trails and nature sightseeing nearby. The fall colors were just starting to show. The trip to Tonto Rim is not far and well worth the trip - beautiful views!

We stayed two days at the cabin and had a wonderful time. It was the perfect place to recharge our batteries. We loved sitting by the creek and listening to the water, sitting on the deck watching birds and enjoying the peace and quiet and roasting marshmallows at the firepit. The view of the stars at night is amazing. The house itself is incredible. It is new and modern and has all the features you would expect from a cabin in the woods. We especially liked the log features and the stone fireplace. The owner was great to work with. He made sure that our stay went smoothly and provided information on things to do. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this cabin.

The cabin was more then I expected. Everybody loved it and had a great time. I don't even know where to start, having the creek close by,the firepit, the lovely showers, the spacious bedrooms, the large deck was amazing! The only thing upseting was the neighbors are really close, so it got loud at times. But everyone agreed it would be a place to come back to.
Owner response:Thank you for the compliments. I’m so glad you had a good time. I sincerely apologize for the volume during your stay. (Note: The cabin is located on a one acre lot. The distance between the cabin and the closest house is 400 feet. As written in so many of our reviews, the location is quiet most of the time).

We've rented the Cabin twice on two separate winter holiday getaways and we're hooked! We had a great time, our children have a blast playing in the snow and then at the end of the day it was great to get settled into a, not just an accomodating cabin, but a real comfortable & relaxing cabin with so much to offer. We highly recommend a trip to the cabin!

This is my first review of this property but not the first time we have stayed and enjoyed the many wonderful amenities this cabin offers. It has become home away from home. I have rented this property for my Company's Sales retreat, It was wonderful to hear our high executives come back and congratulate me for such a great find. Recently we had out of State family visiting and we enjoyed a long weekend during a meteor shower...WOW! the only light pollutions was our camp fire. While staying at the cabin we have seen deer and heard elk. The stream is a short walk with plenty of woods to explore. Other cabins in the area are far enough away, they do not interfere with the peaceful...woodsy setting. Looking forward to our next stay! Thank you Eric for being so accommodating and owning such a wonderful cabin!

Our family, with five children ages 11-17, was looking for a vacation home away from the hustle of the city. We have stayed at three different cabins in the Payson/Rim area and finally found THE ONE. From a perfect location, private acre lot, beautiful home and amazing owners... This property was everything advertised and more. Very clean, private and peaceful. The showers were amazing, the jetted tub relaxing and the walks to the steam enchanting. From the beginning of our inquiry to the end of our stay, the owner was a pleasure with accurate and timely information. I would recommend this property to everyone, as long as there is space for us to come again. Have no worries - this is the ONE.

Wow! Did we have a wonderful time at this wonderful cabin. It was more than we had anticipated--the home was beautiful and easily accommodated us all. The bedrooms were large and the bathrooms pretty luxurious. Kitchen was perfect for creating all our "theme" dinners. The yard and grounds were terrific...spent a lot of time on the deck and taking hikes down to the creek. Unfortuately we visited during the summer when the USFS had issued a "no fire" alert so we weren't able to use the fire pit this time but will do so the next time we visit. All in all, this place was perfect for our family get-away and I would highly recommend it to everyone. We would have loved the daytime weather to be a tad cooler, but after all it was July in Arizona. The nights were perfect temperature, though.

What can I say, everything from the communication from the owner, and the condition of this cabin was all exceptional. We had 4 adults, and 5 kids ranging from ages 5, 5, 2, and 2 twins at 18months. plenty of Room for all. Very Clean, 16 easy miles 2 roads to town or payson for grocery shopping or anything else you needed. lots of trees, plenty of shade, mins from creek right off of the property. Grilling area came in handy with no camp fires allowed we did s'more right off the grill no problems. The Deck is huge wrapping around the cabin lots of room for kids to play. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were immaculately clean, and very luxurious with all the slate, and upgrades. Kitchen had everything you could need yes, including the kitchen sink... Took us a while to notice the drawers on the island looking for bottle opener. ended up finding 2 or 3 of em.... kitchen stocked with pans, pots, cooking utensils, plates, bowls cups, glasses, salt pepper, other spices in pantry left behind, paper towels, trash bags, silver ware, i mean everything was there.

This is the perfect get-away. This was our 2nd trip to the Payson cabin and it was just as wonderful as our first trip last year. The cabin is always in perfect shape, and very welcoming from the moment you arrive. It's a short drive from the Phoenix area but light years away from the city. One reason we enjoy staying here so much is the ease we always have in working with the owner, Eric Lira. While we have never met him in person, he is quick to respond to email questions or phone calls, and takes a personal interest in helping us plan our stay at the cabin. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a little peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. We look forward to our next trip there.

Whenever we had a question, whether it was about the property or arranging payment, Eric was always very responsive and provided us with the information we needed. The pictures he has posted for his cabin are true-to-life- the house is new and welcoming, and the surrounding scenery will renew your spirit. Cool mountain air, starry nights, toasting marshmallows over the fire... what more could you want?!

The owner made it so easy, even cleared the snow up the drive that morning so we could make it up to unload our car! And the x-mas tree was beautiful! Many thanks again for making memories for us all!! Can't wait ot go up there again in the summer and enjoy the creek, maybe even catch a fish or two.. Dick and Sue from Phoenix, AZ.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! We left all the stress and commotion of the big city and arrived at a retreat that soothed our bodies and souls. The beauty of the woods around and the quiet, except for the sounds of nature - the bubbling creek nearby, the wind in the trees - led to days of rest and relaxation. And the cabin was luxurious! The cabin was clean, furnished with everything you could possibly want and more, beautifully decorated, comfortable bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, fabulous bathrooms - and the best part - floor to ceiling windows looking out on the forest and the rim. We enjoyed walking down to the creek, hiking around the area and loved grilling outside and sitting by the fire pit - taking advantage of the the cool evenings. We even made S'mores. The drive to the fish hatchery up the mountain is a great activity - beautiful scenery and interesting tour for all ages. We will continue to make trips to this gorgeous property - the owners are always so cordial and helpful. I continually recommend this cabin to friends and family.

We have stayed in several different cabins and this by far was the most beautiful and the experience dealing with the owner (Eric) was the best that we have had so far. The pride of ownership shows in this home and Eric was great to deal with from the beginning to end. The suprise snow the night before we arrived made the trip even better and the hints given on things to do were very much appreciated. We will definitely be staying here again, we are looking forward to fishing in the creek in the spring.

I TOOK MY WIFE, 2 DAUGHTERS, AND 2 GRANDSONS. WE HAD THE BEST TIME. THE 2 YOUNGER KIDS HAD NEVER BEEN OUT TO THE MOUNTAINS. THEY SAW ELK, SQUIRRELS, TURKEYS, AND LOTS OF TROUT. WE PLAYED IN THE CREEK, DID A LOT OF READING. THE CABIN WAS VERY COZY FOR ALL OF US. HAD LOTS OF ROOM. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CABIN TO EVERYONE. ARE TRYING TO PLAN OUR NEXT TRIP. WE PROMISE NOT TO DAM UP THE CREEK.

Myself and a group of woman recently rented this cabin for the weekend. We were all amazed at how nice the cabin was. The pictures did not do it justice. We had all the luxuries of home (and then some). The owners were very gracious and very helpful in providing information on activities. The creek was wonderful and we loved the picnic table beside the water. We could not have asked for a better place to have our woman's retreat. All the ladies were so impressed by everything including the fire pit. Thank You, Pam We will be looking forward to coming back next year.

My family and some freinds stayed at the cabin for Labor Day 09, we had a great time. We have stayed at other cabins in the past and found this to be by far the nicest one we have stayed in. The cabin is beautiful and the location just adds to the beauty. I have already booked another stay and recommended this cabin to family and friends alike. Looking forward to our next stay.

My husband and I, along with our three three young children, stayed in this cabin in August '09 to escape the valley's warm temperatures. Everything about this cabin was incredible! The location was perfect. It had a feeling of seclusion, yet we were close to all types of adventures. The kids explored along the creek every morning, fished at the trout farm next door, toasted marshmellows at the firepit and loved sitting on the porch and playing board games. The cabin itself was beautiful and felt like a home from the minute we walked in. We will definitely be back!!!

My husband and I stayed at the cabin for 3 nights with our friends and their 2 kids. It was PERFECT!! Everything truly exceeded our expectations, and we had an absolutely amazing time!! The owner of the cabin was so easy to deal with -- incredibly helpful and kind -- and clearly so concerned that we enjoyed our stay. We did!! I would recommend this cabin to anyone and everyone. The pictures of the cabin are completely accurate. I can only say that our stay exceeded our expectations. We will definitely go back. You cannot hope for a better owner to rent from, or a better cabin or location to vacation in!!

I organized a men's retreat recently and we had a great time. The property is beautiful and the accomodations were great for the 10 of us. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire in the evening and going to the nearby lakes. The The owner was great to deal with and I received my deposit back very quickly. I will definitely be back with my family.

This is truly a beautiful place to stay. The cabin is immaculately kept. The views are breathtaking. The creek is so close and relaxing to sit by. Many things to do nearby! Our whole family enjoyed them selves including older teenage boys who were glad that there was also Direct TV. We will be back for sure!
Owner response:It was a pleasure having your family stay at the cabin. Please return!

The Lira's family cabin is outstanding. The cabin has all the ammenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It definitely made our family feel "at home". The creek that runs near the cabin is an added plus. Our stay was way too short to fit in all the sites of the surrounding area so we plan on returning. Thanks Eric and Family for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!
Owner response:Thank you, you were great guests!

We enjoyed a "girls weekend" May 2009 at the cabin and had a fabulous time! The cabin is just amazing. ALL the luxury of a upscale hotel in the "wilderness" by the creek. Owners are awesome to deal with. I do not think there is another cabin that can match all the features and comfort of this beautiful home. You think you can imagine how nice this is, get there and WOW - it was really hard to leave. Pride of ownership is evident in everything the owners have put into this beautiful home. A+++ property and owners!
Owner response:Thank you Nanci! I am glad your family had a fun weekend! Eric
