Blackbeard's Hideaway is a fabulous 3-4 bedroom oceanfront home located at 12 Nelson Lane on Jekyll Island. Sit back, relax and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the Atlantic Ocean from the back patio and gorgeous views of the ocean from the spacious upper sundeck. If you like to get an early morning start, be sure to view the spectacular sun and moon rises from the sun deck or you can even see these beautiful wonders from the upstairs master bedroom and ocean room.
Our home offers 3 separate living areas and can easily accommodate a large family. Downstairs offers 2 bedrooms (one is a master bedroom), a large fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances including 2 full size refrigerators, breakfast nook, separate dining room, comfortable living room with access to the back patio, a lovely 14x19 Jekyll room which can be closed off to make a 4th bedroom, laundry room with a 1/2 bath and 2-car garage. The upstairs offers a 17x24 master bedroom suite with incredible views of the ocean and access to the balcony/sun deck. The upstairs ocean room is a great place for those who want to enjoy the view from a climate-controlled area. This room offers a beachy/nautical decor with a relaxing atmosphere, wet bar and mini refrigerator. At the top of the stairs, you will even be greeted by a life size statue of Blackbeard the pirate! All furnishings & amenities are comfortable, fresh & clean. Please, no pets or smoking in our home.
When renting our home, you will also receive a pool pass that allows you access to the heated pool and hot tub located at the Beachview Club Hotel. Be sure to stop by the front desk and show them your pass before entering the pool area.
Jekyll Island is one of the "Golden Isles" known as Georgia's Jewel. It is the only easily accessible barrier island that remains 65% undeveloped by state law and offers 8 miles of public beach, a vast abundance of encounters with nature: beaches, lush marshlands, small lakes, woodlands, wildlife (deer, birds, turtles, raccoons, dolphins, alligators to name a few), majestic oak trees, sea oats and sea shells. If you are into history, then you may want to check out the National Historic Landmark District located on the Intra Coastal side of the Island. Here you can tour The Jekyll Island Club which was the winter retreat for some of the world's most elite families like the Rockefellers, Morgans, Vanderbilts, Pulitzers, etc. Head over to the Jekyll Island Museum for more history or take a guided tram tour. Be sure to take a stroll down Pier Road for some shopping and souvenirs.
Other areas of interest are The Georgia Sea Turtle Center, Tidelands Nature Center, Summer Waves Water Park, Faith Chapel and explore several of the remaining historic structures around the Island. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets at the Jekyll Historic Wharf while you enjoy a delicious meal at Latitude 31 and the Rah Bar.
Our special home is managed through Parker-Kaufman, Realtors and their office is located in the Jekyll Island Shopping Center. To make a reservation, please contact their office. During the summer, we rent on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. During the off-season, we can be more flexible with our dates. For last minute reservations, we will consider shorter stays (minimum of 3 nights).
A 50% deposit is required when making a reservation and this can be made by credit card or mailing a personal check. We also require a $500.00 Security Deposit which is refundable as long as the home remains in the same condition it was found upon your arrival.
