The entire experience in spending a long weekend here was just wonderful. From communications with the owner to the quality and location of the house: fabulous! We have stayed in places from Hatteras to Corolla and this is the optimum location for excellent quality and at a fantastic price. You simply cannot beat it. The beach is a hop, skip and a jump away and so are great places to eat in every price range. We would definitely rent this place again and highly recommend it. We felt very much at home here and we very happy to sat that it exceeded our expectations. Thank you for letting us stay here!

We had a great week in Kill Devil Hills. The house was roomy, very well maintained & in fact when we arrived, I had cleaning supplies with me, just in case, and they were not needed. The house was very clean & given how close the beach is, there wasn't a spec of sand! The game room was smaller than we had anticipated but the kids didn't spend much time there anyway since we had great weather. We had a leaky shower one day and the caretaker whose number is provided took care of it right away. I'm sure we will return to this house in the future & we will recommend it to our friends & family. The grocery store and affordable restaurants were very close - in fact the Super K-Mart was walking distance which was very convenient. We had our 2 teenage daughters (19 & 16) and each brought a friend & everyone had a great time! All agreed it was a wonderful vacation.

Everything was exactly as pictured on the site! Rocco was excellent to deal with! He was very speedy with email responses and answered all of my questions! We loved the house! It was perfect for our family vacation! The beach is a short walk but if you have a lot to take (which we did with the little ones) the parking at the beach access is free and we had no trouble finding a spot! Especially loved the front porch! We spent our evenings on it after we put our children to bed. Very friendly neighborhood and also very close to stores, restaurants and local attractions! The only thing I wish we could of done differently was to say an entire week rather than just 4 days! I would recommend this property and plan to come back!

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was just as described and looked exactly like the pictures as everyone else i see has already commented. Super Super nice....very well maintained, we did a lot of cooking within the home the kitchen was very well equipped. The front porch and the game room were our two favorite spots. Would very much recommend ,

This is a great home to stay in! It was comfortable and clean and well maintained. I loved the fact that it had a guest book where previous guests had signed and left information on places that they had gone and tips for where you should go, eat etc. The pictures are exactly what you are going to get. I will warn you that you have to climb the outside steps to get into the home. It was not a problem at all for me or my parents, but if you have someone that just can't climb stairs, this isn't the home for you. It was very close to everything we needed, especially the ocean! Just a great cozy home!!!! It really beats spending a lot more money on a hotel, where all you get is a bed a bathroom and a TV! This is a much smarter choice and gives you room to spread out!

We stayed at this home while my husband ran the OBX marathon and we were absolutely thrilled with our stay. The home is clean, modern, comfortable and it has everything you need to relax and have a great time. K-Mart is within walking distance, as are a cute coffee shop and other fun little places. The location is close to the beach and only a couple of miles from the Wright Brother's Memorial. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare gourmet meals and the laundry room and rec room are great for families. We will be coming back here often- this rental is phenomenal!

We just got back from a great 3 night stay. The property is very well maintained and clean. It is just a very short walk to the beach and convenient to restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions like Wright Brothers Memorial, Jockey Ridge, Manteo, Nags Head, etc. We had a great time and would gladly stay here again and recommend it to friends/family. This was my first experience with VRBO and it was great!

My family (6 adults) stayed at the Seaside Retreat for a long weekend and overall thought it was a great house. Everything was clean and modern, and the welcome basket was a nice surprise. The house is located on a side street so it's not busy, but it is convenient to the main roads, and to the beach. It was my first time visiting the Outer Banks, and I found the house to be in a great central location for exploring the area, attractions, and restaurants. My only complaint was that the dining table had only four chairs, and the stools were a bit high for the table (they are meant to be for the counter). Overall, it is a great place to stay, and I would return again!

We stayed at the Our Seaside Retreat beach house this past Friday, September 17th to celebrate my 49th birthday for the weekend. What a great time! The house is the perfect blend of cottage and modern living. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a basket of goodies including a nice bottle of wine. The house was immaculate. The photos of the house inside and out were exactly what we got. There was a playroom downstairs with a separate entrance that worked out great for our teens. The walk to the beach was effortless. Great convenient location. One of our favorite things about the house was the porch...sitting on the porch with this amazing ocean breeze was the perfect retreat any time of the day. The plasma TVs were a bonus and we absolutely loved the kitchen...completely modern with great island and breakfast nook. The bedrooms were roomy and cozy. Bathrooms upgraded with top notch appliances and tiled floors. This house stands out on the block with a beautiful beachy blue color and white trim. The best kept secret in OBX. We would recommend this house 100% and can't wait to go back! Thanks for a great stay. KS, Williamsburg, VA

My friends and I went here for a weekend and had a great time. The house is just like the pictures. Super nice. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It beats staying in a hotel any day. Hope to stay here again in the future and will recommend this house to any friends of mine that would be going to the area.

My wife, two small sons spent a wonderful five days at the property Labor Day week. My in-laws joined us for part of what proved to be the most beautiful weather I've spent at any beach. The time of year was perfect - it was the start of the off-season but the weather was still warm yet more comfortable than summer peak temperatures. The properly was in great shape and combined the charm of the typical beach cottage with a modern and renovated interior. Spotless upon arrival and with all appliances in good workign order, it includes a spacious balcony for outdoor lounging, laundry room with new washer and dryer and a game room (though we did not use the later much given the ages of our children). Located just a short walk from public beach access (3 to 5 minutes for us with two small kids and beach gear in tow), the property is about a mile from the Wright National Memorial. We would highly recommend this propery and hope to make a return stay in the future.

We had a lovely girls week at the beach and this home was perfect. The interior is chic and fun, the kitchen is roomy and easy to prepare large meals, and the covered front porch was relaxing after a long day at the beach. The walk to the beach was quite short - it took us about three minutes to walk there with all of our beach toys and bags. This beach area of Kill Devil Hills was not crowded, we had no problem getting a spot at noon during the busiest beach season. The owners added several extra special touches to the home and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

We loved this cozy home away from home. Everything was exactly the way it looked in the pictures online. So many times you only get the good rooms pictured or the equipment doesn't work, not with this home. Everything we could need was there for us. And the location was great, one block from the beach off this small two line road that was prefect for my morning jog/walks. This road also had the cutest little stores and some good restaurants within walking distance to the house. We would spend the afternoon on the beach and then take a stroll to one of the neighborhood restuarants and have a great meal at a affordable price. And when we wanted to stay in we had everything we needed to prepare our meals in a great kitchen. We also loved the outside porch. We would have our mornings there and enjoy the sunset in the evening. I can't say enough about your beautiful property. My friends and I have fallen in love and plan to come back again. May we'll bring the spouses next time or maybe not. Thanks again.

Everything looked exactly how it appeared on line. I would recommend, and will be back myself next year, this property to my friends. We got the best seafood at Big Eye and cooked it ourselves and it was fantastic. We really hung out at the beach most of the time. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful!

The Seaside Retreat was an amazing place to stay. The location was perfect in relationship to the beach and the happenings around the island. The house was very modern and still had the warmth of home. This was a great place to stay during our wedding week. We can't wait to get back for several summers at the Outer Banks. Thank you so much for making our special week memorable. -Jake and Lauren Married July 2, 2010

We had a great time! The house was very clean, nicely decorated and it was easy to feel like home. The house comfortably seats 4 people. The location was around the corner from the beach and the neighborhood was quiet and friendly. The owner was extremely helpful and was quick to answer any questions we had before arriving to KDH. The appliances were modern and functioned correctly and the central air was was wonderful. The porch was a nice place to relax. The gameroom was a little small but was still enjoyed by our family. The sofa and beds were comfy. the location was central to many nice restuarants and convenient shopping. You could walk to a great coffe place and get great service and fabulous coffee. I would definitely rent here again and deal with Rocco and Roanne again. They were very professional and pleasant. If you go, make sure you eat at Kill Devil Hill Grill and Stack 'Em High. My only suggestion is find out how to recycle before you go! There was no recycle pick-up at the house, although there was trash twice a week. Enjoy your stay!
