We had a three generation family gathering (ages 4 to 75) at the Lighthouse and it was fantastic. The house easily accommodates 14. The pool was fantastic. The house and kitchen are well outfitted with everything you need. The nearby sandy lake and rocky seashore are perfect play spots. Hollyhock is a walk away and the gardens there are worth the visit. We had a great time and are recommending it to friends for their large gatherings.

We had stayed at the Lighthouse two years ago and really enjoyed it. We were back again, at the request of the kids, for another family vacation. 14 people from grandparents to all their grandchildren and everyone had a fantastic time. The pool kept the kids very happy during the days. Sunsets and the view were soaked up by the adults. The yard and the house are big with many large rooms and outdoor areas so that everyone could find "alone" time but they could also accommodate everyone for family meals or games nights. The hosts are very conscientious and the house, including the kitchen, is stocked with all the things you would need for large groups. We had a great time and would consider visiting the Lighthouse on another family trip.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at the Lighthouse. The vastness of the waterways and islands viewed from the house is one of the most beautiful in the world. There were 16 of us from aged 5 to over 80 and there was something for everyone. Boating, beachcombing, hiking, and the great pool kept us active during the day. The spacious rooms, ample tables and outdoors dining spaces provided great areas for games and fellowship in the evenings.

We stayed at the Lighthouse for the second time this year. The first year we had a family reunion with more than twenty people/kids from BC, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and NC. This year we invited up some friends from university, now living in California, and their kids. Eleanor and Dennis are great hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, and it has been a pleasure getting to know them. They have a beautiful property, and put a lot of effort into making sure it is as safe as possible -- good fencing around the pool and decks for example, which anyone with kids will appreciate. This is a very relaxing, big, family home; a big kitchen with everything needed to cook large meals. It is a great place to spend some time with family or friends. We look forward to going back!

There were 13 of us,three generations. The weather was perfect - hot and sunny so we spent a lot of time in and around the pool. From there we could look at the sea and distant snow clad mountains, and watch passing yachts - just likethe French Riviera, but close to home!€

We had a fabulous family reunion at the Lighthouse. The pool was great for the kids, they never wanted to get out! We enjoyed bountiful harvests of clams and oysters, exploring the island, lovely views from the decks and had great times!

We had a great vacation last month at 'The Lighthouse'. The accommodations were very good - clean and spacious. There were thirteen of us in the house and there was plenty of room. Our week on Cortes Island was filled with trips to the beach, digging for clams and oysters, hiking on the trails, swimming in the pool, a day on a chartered sailboat touring the strait and just sitting in the front room enjoying the magnificant view. Dennis and Ellie were very helpful and hospitable. We would highly recommend a family vaction at "The Lighthouse".
