This is a one of a kind Bill Harrison designed, Craftsman style home with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains from every part of the house and property. The house is situated on two wooded acres reached by a long private driveway. The house is on an almost level lot in a large cove providing great swimming and canoeing areas off the main part of the lake.
The house features a Great Room with large windows overlooking the lake and a floor to ceiling rock fireplace. A loft with ample seating and two daybeds overlooks the Great Room. The kitchen is a part of the Great Room and creates easy entertaining and informal living. There are two bedrooms off the Great Room with a connecting bathroom.
One bedroom has twin beds and the other can either accommodate twin beds or convert to a queen. The private master bedroom suite is upstairs with a private bath and balcony and views of the lake through the trees.
Downstairs is a private den/bonus room with a full bathroom and a laundry room. There is a pullout sofa for extra sleeping in this room. TV, ping pong and games available. Numerous outdoor patios, decks and seating areas surround the house.
A main feature of the property is a two-story boathouse with a deck and screened porch on top. Sunbathe on the deck, play cards in the porch, watch the sunset over the lake and the stars come out at night!
Lake Burton is considered one of the most appealing mountain lakes in the Southeast. Water level remains full all year with the exception of minor draw downs in winter months. Boating is limited on the lake to a maximum of 22' motor boats and jet skis. Boat rentals are readily available at two marinas. A wide variety of dining is available on the lake and in nearby Clayton and Helen.
Hiking opportunities abound including Tallulah Gorge, Black Rock Mountain State Park, the Appalachian Trail and throughout the Chattahoochee National Forrest. White water rafting at nearby Chatooga and Nantahala Rivers. Wonderful trout fishing in nearby streams.
