Our mountain home is located in the Valley of Roan Development, approximately 12 miles from Bakersville NC on US 261 Highway.
Enjoy the beautiful views from porches located on the main and basement levels. The porches are loaded with comfortable chairs and swings for your enjoyment and relaxation. Located at almost 5000 feet elevation, our summers are almost unbelievable with average summer temperatures of about 70 to 75 degrees.
Winters are equally enjoyable with extreme cold temperatures and sometimes beautiful snow. Regardless of the season, if you enjoy natural beauty, you will be inspired by God’s great creation.
Hiking on the Appalachian Trail is short walk (approximately 30 minutes) from the cabin. It is also easily accessed by car (approximately 5 minutes) at Carver's Gap. A short and easy hike from there provides views of five states and Mount Mitchell on clear days.
Nearby Bakersville is home to numerous craft vendors with world-famous Penland School of Crafts within a 35-minute drive. Spruce Pine, Banner Elk, Asheville, Johnson City, Boone, and North Carolina ski areas are within 45-90 minutes.
This mountain home is beautifully furnished and comfortable.
