    Thank you again for sharing your home with us. We had a fantastic time! Our teenage sons are already asking to come back. Our 16 year old says it was one of his favorite vacations ever. We would love to return soon and will be checking the calendar. Hope you had a safe trip from Florida and enjoy your time here. We met your son when he stopped by to make sure we arrived and had everthing we needed. Tell him thank you from us as well. Have a Happy New Year and I'm sure you will be hearing from us very soon!

    We had a great time at your cabin. We were surprised and very happy to see all the lovely Christmas decorations, including a live tree! Our extended family gathered here from Florida, Alabama, New York and Hawaii. We also had family members from Raleigh and Greensboro who came for day visits. Thank you to Bobby for all his hospitality. We enjoyed a beautiful snowfall and Bobby was quick to check on us because he knew we didn't have a 4WD vehicle. We all enjoyed sight seeing but mostly we enjoyed warm cozy evenings making up for lost time with each other. Our children and grandchildren are already talking about making this trip our new annual family tradition.

    We had a wonderful time at the cabin and surrounding area. We love Ashe County Park, Blowing Rock and Boone. It was pretty in the Jefferson State Park. Shatley Springs is a great place to eat. The cabin was so confortable, it felt like home. We also enjoyed walking to church camp across the road. Hope to come back again and again.

    Dear Wilkinson family, thank you so very much for letting us enjoy your wonderful house. We are greatful for the blessing you are to us. Our favorite memories are of watching the humming birds in the morning while enjoying the sunshine and cool air on the porch. We had a delightful walk down to the beach camp and great fun playing in the stream. Being able to enjoy open windows and a cookfout on the grill was the perfect end to an amazing day.     Dear Wilkinson family, thank you for sharing your beautiful mountain home with our family. We enjoyed the lovely wrap around porch, we sat for hours just laughing and reminiscing of all of our great family times together from the past to the present. We enjoyed roasting marshmellows and hot dogs by the fire pit. We look forward to another family visit at your beautiful home. Great memories have been made and we hope to make many more here.

    Another stay at your great cabin in the mountains. We had fun stitting on the porch and watching the four hummingbirds and their antics. Also got in some fun hikes and trips into Blowing Rock, Boone and West Jefferson. Had a memorable time at the River house - food, view and service. The cool weather was very welcome as well.

    A group of 6 adults arrived on June 23rd for a relaxing get-a-way in the mountains. We all got settled into the Secluded Hideaway and went out exploring. During our time we went sight seeing, canoeing, driving on the parkway, checked out the frescoes, ate out a few times and just enjoyed our time together. The house is a great place for a home base. We have found the locals to be very friendly and helpful. The weather was incredible most of the time...until the warm front moved in, but that was not typical weather for the area. Most days had highs in the 70's and lows in the 60's - perfect! We are looking forward to other trips to the area.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    We enjoyed a restful time after having 4 grandchildren under 4 for a week. Such a peaceful setting. We did include hiking and trips to town Boone. Dinner withj friends. We felt very rested after our week.

    The secluded Hideway exceeded all of our expectations! We especially loved the wrap around porch with all the rockers, gliders, and swings. It was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities of home. We were in town for a wedding so we did not get to spend as much time as we would have liked enjoying the house and activities of the area. We would like to come back soon and would definately rent this house again. We had 6 adults and 5 college kids and we all had plenty of room. I could not say enough good things about the Secluded Hideway. The owners were amazing in every way, excellent in communication and very accomodating to our group.

    Audrey and Bill, we loved this location and staying at your house for Merlefest. We did get to eat on the deck twice and I decided not to bring my iron skillet on this trip so I was delighted to find one here. Your kitchen tools and cooking things are great!

    This was very affordable and very nice. It was well maintained and the owner was very accommodating and helpful. Having the river so close was definitely an asset.

    We are a group of four sisters in Christ that have been taking trips together for many years and pray many more. God has blessed abundantly on all the trips we have been on, Virgina to Florida several times. God has blessed us with safety and we thank Him for it. We enjoyed our walk on the beach and seeing the bear tracks. We were glad we didn't encounter the bear. God is good and God bless you.

We went ice skating, snow tubing and enjoyed hiking down to the river. Blayde and Caylea really enjoyed riding the four wheeler. Grandfather Mountain was awesome too.     Hi Bill and Audrey, just wanted to drop a line and tell you both what a beautiful and peaceful place you have. My famiy and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet. My brother is getting over a recent heart by-pass surgery (May 3) so it was the perfect place to just relax. We enjoyed eating outside and just sitting outside and talking and of course watching the humming birds. I expecilly enjoyed talking to Bobby, since I saw his picture with his buck, for I too am a hunter and love it. I joked with him about me coming back in October or November to hunt a big buck like his. Thanks for being so kind and letting us share your home!! Louise and family

    Dear Wilkinson family, Another wonderful visit to Ashe Co. and your mountain hideaway. We had some great hikes at Grayson Highlands and off the Parkway. Loved visiting with friends in West Jefferson and seeing new shops. The best part as always was relaxing on the porch. listening to the birds and being entertained by the humming birds. Bobby and Donna and the girls were so warm and helpful and were always available to answer our many questions about the area. We learned so much. We climbed a mountain, saw the Cascades, visited Kerr Scott Dam and had the opportunity to explore your gorgeous scenery, trails and roads.     If there is Heaven here on earth - we found it! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home. Our honeymoon weekend was perfect in the "Secluded Hide-a-Way". And yes Bob was very pleasantly surprised! I am so thankful that we were able to work it ourt for this particular time. Your home and its surroundngs are so beautiful, so cozy, just wonderful.     Our families arrived to spend Easter Weekend together. We always enjoy each others company and your home made it very relaxing and easy to be comfortable in. Some of us enjoyed relaxing on the porch, hiking at the state park, fishing or golfing. We did a lot in a short amount of time. Your home has now become a part of our memories and we are looking forward to return again in the near future.

    We arrived on Friday amid a mound of snow and ice. Bobby brought us up the driveway because our cars could not get a grip. What we found at the end of the drive was a little piece of heaven on earth! What beautiful scenery and every possible amenity, starry skies, animated wildlife, a roaring fire and soft comfy beds. We know now that we must come back when the season changes. God bless Bobby and Donna, they were so good to us. We hope to meet Bill and Audrey one day.

    We came in on Friday evening and stayed until Tuesday morning. We are a family of nine and were very pleased with out stay. There was plenty of room for all of us and we enjoyed the front deck so much that we went and bought one of the double chairs sets to take home.with us. Loved the decorations and especially the peacefulness and great hospitality. Thank you so much and God bless you for sharing your wonderful cabin with our family. We hope to return many times.     Arrived at your beautiful home on Thursday afternoon. We so enjoyed the deck. This was our "Ladies Weekend" during which we enjoyed catching up on each others lives. We explored West Jefferson, and its stores, the Cheese Factory, etc. We enjoyed a wonderful restful weekend. Loved the recliners. Your home was so comfortable. Thank you for sharing your home.     We finally made it to your beautiful cabin after seeing it last summer. Relax was the key word for these 4 days although we did visit with friends in West Jefferson. Your home is so comfortable and well planned. The front porch is my favorite place. Can't wait for our week next August and will be on the look out for other openings.     Bill and Audrey, Thank you for sharing your mountain home with us. Your decorations are beautifully done and the furniture comfortable and relaxing. We like big furniture. We did a lot of sight seeing. Seen turkeys, beautiful blue birds (had to look it up), deer, snake (dead), chipmunks, and a bear (the highlight of the day). We had wonderful fellowship with our special friends of 32 years. But I think the fondest memory will be at the church service at the North Beaver Bapt Church. They had a Memorial Day service honoring their vets and visiting vets whick was very heart warming. The highlight of the service was a baptismal service in the river. The church drove a few miles to a wide spot in the river and baptized a new member. It was great. We love these people. They are warm, friendly, kind and unpretentious. We enjoyed our stay very much. We pray God's blessings on you.

    We arrived Friday morning and were in no rush because the drive along the way was beautiful. Driving up the long winding driveway was tons of fun and really made you feel tucked away in the mountain. Once we arrived we found the cabin was incredibly clean and orderely and packed with the most comfortable and cozy furniture you have ever felt. After we unpacked the car grocery shopping was extremely easy with all necessary stores and shops 10-15 minutes away. The rest of our trip was either walking down the driveway to fish the New River , making s'mores in the firepit out back, or lounging around in the comfty living room. All of the Wilkinson's that I either spoke to over the phone or met in person were extremely friendly and easy to work with. We immensly enjoyed our stay and will defintely be back.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    Bill and Audrey, what can I say - it was perfect! We loved making memories and learning at your cabin! We had an awesome chat with your family on Friday PM. They were adorable! We will be back and having family retreat next time.

    Bill, your house was great. It was comfortable, relaxing and warm (which was very important with the cold snow weather). The downstairs den/playroom was great for our active 2 yr old. We loved it and hope to get to return soon. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us.
