Oceanfront Home - Joan Baez' Former Beach House/Spectacular Vu
Year Purchased: 2000
Why the Owner Chose Pacific Grove
We bought this house because it has the MOST spectacular views in Pacific Grove!! Our ocean-front beach house, formerly Joan Baez' Beach House, is located between Point Pinos and Lover's Point...absolutely spectacular views!! We bought it the same day we saw it. Lover's Point Park and Beaches, rental kayaks, rental bicycles/surreys and snack shop are just a few steps from the house. The Famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row is just a short walk North of the house along fabulous ocean-front walks. The Natural History Museum, the Asilomar, the Butterfly Grove, Art Galleries, Boutique Shops, Antique Shops,Upscale Resale shops and a myriad of coffee shops and great restaurants are just a short walk away. If you prefer you can rent a bicycle or surrey and tour the town on wheels....or bring your own. We have a carport that you can store your vehicle(s) in. Pacific Grove is a well-kept secret but one you'll want to share with all your friends. We have many clients that come here again and again every year. They love it as much as we do!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Wake up to the morning sun streaming through the clerestory windows in your bedroom. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds we own (we bought it with the house from Joan Baez..she really knew how to pick a comfortable bed!! We added a 3 inch special topper so you feel like you're sleeping on a cloud. The morning sunrise over the ocean is spectacular from the living room and deck areas. I like to eat breakfast outside on the deck feeling like I'm enjoying breakfast with the sea otters and cormorants and Barney prefers to sit inside eating at the dining table ... we only have a window between us but we both have incredible ocean-front tables!!
This public golf course has some of the finest ocean-front scenery while you're golfing - and its part of our Stay 'n Play packages!!
Fantastic sea-life displays in natural settings including sharks, jelly fish and sea horses
Sandy Beaches and park. Bicycle/surrey,kayak and snorkeling gear rentals.
Rent a kayak for a day and explore the Monterey Bay, or rent a wet suit and snorkeling gear and explore the sea life up front and personal. There's also bicycle and surreys for 2 to 4 people!!
Great Wedding Location!! Receptions of 100 outside or 30 inside. This Heritage Craftsman-style home is one of the finest examples of a true Bed and Breakfast Inn in the Monterey area. The innkeepers welcome guests to tour the facility. Also great for family reunions...we are part-owners of this facility too.
Headed to the conference center? Stay with us, we're only a short distance to Asilomar.
Wonderful historical lighthouse next to the Pacific Grove Golf Course. Worth the trip exploring.

Real estate allows us to really get to know our clients. We are friendly and fun-loving and most of all we love people. Our clients become our friends and clients for life! We know you'll enjoy our ocean-front beach house as much as we do!! Barney and Gerry

Fabulous views - as advertised. Nothing else about this property lived up to the hype. In desperate need of repair and refurbishment. No check-in/check-out information provided. No instructions on accessing the internet. No information on where to park. For the price, I expect more...a whole lot more. Would not recommend this property to my worst enemy.

I want to reserve the house again for a few days over Valentine's Day and then again in May and in July. I feel it is my "special" home away from home. We park our car in the carport and never use it until its time to go home. We love the close proximity to everything and use our bikes or go for a walk every day. We want to make this our very special getaway. Thanks for making it possible.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to staying again. The view on that Balcony is truly amazing and can be compared to nothing.Issues we had but not complaints just suggestions: the blinds would not stay closed so no privacy in the den...not that we ever wanted to not see the views...it would be really cool to have had some photos on the wall etc. so that fellow singer song writers like myself could say hey look this is where Bob Dylan sat... Super cool.... Anyway, thank you again and look forward to seeing you on the Mendocino coastline there was a room in particular that I have my sites on.... Dave
