I stayed at this facility for six nights. The property is accurately described on the website regarding the location.. Conveniently located in close proximity to the beach and within a ten minutes drive to the city. The amenities are updated and very well maintained. The staff from day one and throughout my stay was very professional and courteous. Security on duty 24 hours. Highly recommend Casita De La Papi for seafood with their crab cakes for an appetizer. I would highly recommend this location to a friend or relative visiting the area.

Outstanding vacation accomodations near Cabarete! My condo was very clean, comfortable, and provided all the needed supplies and services. All staff members were;polite, friendly, and helpful -- Just Top Notch. This is my second stay at Serenity, and I would highly recomend this location to anyone looking for great accomodations 5 min. from Cabarete. I have told relatives and close friends about this Mecca!

Love the Dominican

Serenity Del Sol is well maintained because of their excellent housekeepers and groundskeeper. They were like family. Condo was sufficient. In the Dominican, prostitution is legal, so the only dislike we have for Serenity is that twice during our stay single men were allowed to rent and subsequently brought prostitutes back and forth every day during their stays. Did not provide a safe family environment as far as we were concerned. Cabarete is a happening place for kiters and young people. Restaurants are everywhere and the food overall amazing and well priced. Beaches were nice, swimming not so nice. Lots of big surf here (obviously why kiters flock there), so if you're looking for nice calm waters, you won't find that there. If you are looking for an economical holiday and interested in touring this amazing island and getting a feel for their people and culture - you can't go wrong.

Beautiful rooms, grounds and scenery. My wife and I have been to the DR before and although we enjoyed ourselves we missed the comforts of home. At Serenity, we felt as if we were home. The staff is very friendly and helpful, thanks Benny. Just can't say enough about the place. Already booked another trip back to the BEST PLACE in the DR, SERENITY DEL SOL.

Perfect Condo!

We loved this location and property! It is so roomy, we had six people in our party and it was nice to not be on top of each other all the time. I especially loved the many balconies, the gorgeous decorating, updated applicances and the sparkling pool. We never had any worries about power/electricity, which is very rare in the DR. Nona and Jackie were very helpful and accomodating to any needs we had. It is close to busy Cabarete, but the condo itself is very quiet, while still having amenities within 1-2 minutes walking distance. We enjoyed walking down the street to have ice cream at the quaint restaurant, and walking right out onto the beach. A wonderful vacation rental, at an excellent value! Thank you Vickie and Jackie!

My Super Retreat

This was the perfect getaway for my friends and I. Very secluded. I was surprised how beautiful the place was. It was everything the description said it was and more. The staff was pleasant and very attentive. The views of the ocean during sunrise and sunset from my balcony was breath taking. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. A very special thank you to Vickie, Matilde, Benny, Jackie and Nona. You and your staff made this trip a very memorable one for us. We will be coming back.

We had a great stay; the property was perfect and we plan on returning to visit you guys the next time we come to Cabarete. Clean, newer, tastefully decorated w/ an extremely comfortable bed and peaceful setting. My wife is hard to please and your unit delivered a slam dunk.... Jackie was an awesome host! Fabulous Penthouse!

My daughters and I rented the penthouse for the week after Easter and loved it. The space was better even than the pictures suggested, with lots of room, wonderful balconies and a fully equipped kitchen. We made great use of the swimming pool and barbeque space and also found Grace, a wonderful yoga teacher at Extreme Hotel, who came to our place every morning for a private yoga session on the wonderful upstairs balcony overlooking the ocean. It takes about 30-45 minutes to walk to Cabarete on the beach. We usually came back on one of the gua-gua's which is an experience not to be missed for those not faint of heart! We also made a side trip to Playa Grande, again on a gua-gua. Lovely remote beach, well worth the trip. One thing to note: the map on this listing implied the condo is to the west of Cabarete, toward Kite Beach; instead, it is on the east side. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of if you happen to be interested in Kite surfing.

We had a great time in Cabarete and really enjoyed staying at this penthouse. Spacious rooms, balconies that overlook the water and access to a great beach. Cabarete is a great place to visit.

We had a fantastic stay at Serenity del Sol. The staff where exceptionally accommodating and courteous and it was a very comfortable unit. The premises were well maintained and very clean. The units were all well stocked and if anything was missing, it was supplied in a very efficient time. We are looking forward to our next stay with Vickie, Jackie and the rest of the staff. While visiting there you must make a stop at La Boca to visit Wilson and have a wonderful, fresh seafood dinner.

First allow me to say from the onset of researching for a unit the whole experince was enjoyable and very helpful. The process after locating a unit was easy, insurance, paying, pictures, details etc. Then upon the arrival by myself I was greeted by the agents friend and took me from the airport to the complex - during which time she explained some important items along the way..such items as; driving, shopping for food etc. then once at the unit was introduced to the onsite contact, security and some specific items to the condo. Was provoided with local contact for agent, if required and called to check to see how things were. This was one of the best experinces of renting a condo in a different country. hats off to ALL. Our stay at Serenity Del Sol was very pleasurable and relaxing. The accommodations were wonderful, very clean and beyond our expectations! The staff was more then accommodating! We stayed in the beautiful penthouse with spectacular views of the ocean and horses freely roaming there! The complex was extremely safe and secure! There are many exquisite restaurants (Embocca, Aresenio's, Martini's and Jose/O'Shay's) within the area, not to mention that the staff will also cook for you! DO NOT buy beef or pork in ANY market or the best local market which is Janet's but these restaurants are excellent; they import from the states. We travel often and our initial plan was to rent scooters but after realizing the driving habits of the locals, we rented a car from "Okay Rentals" (a good deal). The beach is beautiful and you can walk to Embocca 's; relax on there beach beds and be waited on like royalty! The place was great! The local people are wonderful! And, Thank you Vickie! You're a great hostess!

Great vacation for a great price

My family stayed after Christmas with some other friends. The kids had a lot of fun at the pool and at the beach. We rode horses along the beach three different days and our kids loved it. The apartment was very nice and very clean. Vickie was great to work with. Would recommend!

A warm and friendly home away from home.

This is such a lovely condo, modern, very comfortable and like a home away from home. It is about 3km out of Cabarete but as a result it is very peaceful and there are several modes of transport to get in and out of the town when needed. It also means that the stretch of beach the condo is on is much quieter! The staff could not be more helpful and had made such lovely touches for our arrival such as a towel in the shape of a swan on the bed, petals in the bathroom and a few groceries in the fridge including a plate of fresh fruit. The pool, though very cold, was a lovely place to hang out if you didn't fancy the beach and we even got the added pleasure of a tiny puppy to entertain us. Cabarete itself is a chilled place full of cool beach bars and kite surfers, kite beach is about a 20 minute walk up the beach. All in all a great place in a great town, I'd love to go back!!

I stayed for a week with my girlfriend and we had a wonderful "warm" time! Our suite was impeccably clean with a view of the ocean. HUGE King Sized Bed lots of closet space and beautifully furnished. Fully working kitchen which we used to cook breakfast and dinners when we preferred to stay in and relax. A couple minutes walk to the gorgeous private beach and a pool when we preferred to just chill by the pool. Met a wonderful couple who were here for the surfing and ended up going out to dinner with them a few times. Will definitely come back again! Thanks for the great time! :)

Cabarete and the Condo were spectacular! It was luxurious and comfortable and the staff were very accommodating. Cabarete has plenty of fun and interesting things to do both day and night. This was a very unique vacation that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking the perfect vacation.

Excellent Service, Beautiful Property

My family and I rented the Penthouse at Serenity del Sol for 1 month in August 2011. We were seeking a place to unwind and relax and that is precisely what we found at Serenity. Cabarete/Sosua area is the most international part of the Dominican Republic with many stores owned by Americans, Russians, Germans, Italians, etc...It was really neat to be in the a Latin country and see such an international influence there. The center part of the Cabarete is lively and vibrant, especially at night. Although some may prefer to be in the hustle and bustle of the city, Serenity del Sol is far enough from the center part of town to avoid the noise and traffic and feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed but close enough to either take a long walk to the center of town or to take a short 5-10 minute drive. It is very easy to get around in Cabarete, you can either rent a car, walk, or take a taxi or moto-concho (motorcycle taxi). You can also take the local bus or public cars which both follow a route. Now back to Serenity del Sol...What can I say, at the end of our month there, we didn't want to leave. The furnishings, fixtures, appliances, and commodities such as A/C made our stay pleasurable and relaxing. There is light 24 hours of the day and if the city's light were to go out for any reason, Serenity del Sol has a generator to assure their guests have regular electricity. The penthouse was beautiful boasting almost 3,000 square feet, so it was ample enough to never feel crowded. The terraces/balconies are one of the best features of the apartment, my Mom just loved to sit out there all day and stare out at the beach and palm trees while sipping on coconut water from an actual coconut and reading a great book. The views on the balconies are spectacular! Serenity del Sol is well-equipped with most everything you will need to cook if you decide to do so and they have an excellent staff to provide you with the support you may need. We ABSOLUTELY love Benny and Matilde and the Security Guards that come at night. Benny and Matilde kept the grounds, common areas, pool and apartments immaculate. The Security Guards made sure you were safe. Serenity has a great pool and barbecue/grill area in the back of the building. The beach is directly in front of the property and it is beautiful; it stretches out for miles both ways, so it is great for long walks on the beach. This beach is more private than other areas, which we really liked. Believe me, you will love Serenity!

I stayed in the 2 bedroom penthouse at Serenity del sol from March 1-31,2011. My first experience with rental by owner. It was exceptional. It was exactly what I expected from the listing and after speaking directly with owner. Spoke to her a few times before I went and then met her and husband when I was in Cabarete. Very personable and willing to help with anything. There were some things I rquired that were not in condo but just requested and received, very promptly too. The staff was absolutely fantastic; from he young fellow working the grounds, painting, to Louis the security guard and Matilde the maid . I never came back to the condo in the evening when he wasn't there and made sure i made inside okay. Matilde is more than just a maid. A wonderful lady that I was fortunate enough to spend a wonderful day with at the beach. She will also do your laundry and cook for you for a reasonable price. Not to mention the gal that came right to the condo for an hour massage as well as manicures and pedicures. Talk about pampering and cheap! The beach was very quiet and I enjoyed my daily walks on the beach to Cabarete. Depending on whether you want to stroll or walk a little faster it would take me anywhere from 40-60 minutes. It was such a beautiful walk, it certainly didn't matter. Once I got into Cabarete there was a supermarket available as well as lots of little shops and some great restaurants, bars on beach. If you prefer, you can take a taxi very reasonably. All in all I certainly enjoyed my stay and will definitely try to go back but hopefully for a longer length of time. I only went on a few tours, excursions with some people I met, Playa Grande beach and Paradise Island which is fantastic. I had my laptop with me and most times could connect and keep in touch with people back home. Even got to do the Skype camera thing with my granddaughter and my children at home. There was times I could not access the internet, but that was too be expected and not a problem for me. I went for R and R and got it.!

Owner response: Thanks Mary! You are right on the money. The Dominican Republic sometimes lacks the immediate gratification we take for granted in the States and Canada such as high speed internet. The internet is the fastest cheapest way to stay in touch, but it's also one of the reasons we come to escape here. I truly believe we gain so much more in our spirit, body and soul from this country, than it owes us.My suggestion to all my friends and guests and friends who visit is first of all, turn off your cell phone. Only use the internet when absolutely necessary. Get out, explore the island. walk for hours on the beach, take tours or excursions. Act like you are 10 again. The DR. is not what most of us demand in our lives, but that's what makes it so special. The slow pace, the warm sun, and friendly people. Natural foods without preservatives, will defiantely provide you with a renewed body and mind. Thank you mary for sharing your experiences. I would highly recommend Serenity Del Sol and will probably be going back when I can find the time. I have been going to the DR for over 15 years now and have lived there for several years as well, and can say that in all of my travels to that country, this was by far the best place for the money value that I have stayed in. Unlike so many properties in that country, this one was very well mantained with all the trimings. There were no problems with the electricity, air conditioning, cable,hot water (lots of it and very hot!!!! Very rare even in high dollar properties in the DR), appliances, internet, everything was as good or better than it was described and looked on-line. Not only that, but all of the interior furniture was in good condition, clean, and the flat was nicely adorned. The kitchen was well equipped as well (nothing top of the line, but everything one would need to cook well). I was amazed that there was even a blender to make batidas for my daughter! The staff, although very few and very informal, were courteous and helpful and I loved being tucked away from the mainstream very busy tourist areas. It was extremely tranquil, another rarity in the Dominican Republic. I felt it was a home away from home, and easily could have stayed there indefinitely, that is how comfortable I found the place. We were even allowed to use the laundry facilites at any time with no questions asked. Upon arrival (and remember, this isn't a hotel, but a condo) there was a huge fruit tray in the fridge for us, milk, coffee and sugar. I didn't expect that at all, and being that I arrived late with two kids and we didn't really feel like searching for food at this hour and we were hungry, it was a fantastic surpise. Last year I stayed at the Santo Domingo Hilton for $200 a night.....with no internet in the room (that is extra), a room space less than half the size of the condo at Serenity, no beach access, no food waiting for me, no kitchen, no free laundry.........So I think it is safe to say that Serenity del Sol is a fantastic value for your dollar. Try it out, you won't be sorry!!! Thank you Vickie!!

Truly an Amazing Vacation at SERENITY DEL SOL

Have been to the d.r. a few times , and have stayed west of town....I wanted to get away from the scooter noise and congestion, so I decide to try Serenity, in an area east of Cabarete....The location for us was ideal , as we had the peace and quiet of the beach and pool area at Serenity , but were just a few minutes from the new Janets supermarket , and cabarete...Within the area, there r motor scooters, as well as public taxis...publicos, which are about 50 pesos , or less, to go into town...they r super frequent and visible on the main road...our friends rented a small car from budget, for 22 bucks a day...cant beat that....Our Penthouse at Serenity was awesome...ultra clean, very modern, beautiful furnishings, new, american style beds/mattresses, which is rare in cabarete. The pictures didnt do the actual ocean and mountain views justice....in person, we were thrilled.....the staff on hand was very nice, and did not intrude on our privacy , or stay in any way...we felt the over-all value, as far as quality of accomodation, security, and location cannot be beat for the price we paid...we will come back here, when we get the chance.....great vacation...thnks viki...you were very helpful...

Great little vacation spot

We had an amazing time in Cabarete while staying at Serenity. The staff was very nice and helpful, the security gaurd at night made it easy for us to get a Taxi or Moto Taxi into town. The condo was very cute, clean and quiet. There is a bar down the road called Taino (I believe thats what the name was) that doesnt look to be like much but after a few days we stopped an we are glad we did. The people that run it were so nice and the locals that come there on a nightly basis were a good source of information as to what to see and what to do. The bar owner is a highly envolved in the community and it was interesting to hear what he does to help the children of the Dominican.

A Beautiful; place to relax in the Tropics

Serenity del Sol is a quiet and beautifully decorated oasis, in the action packed town of Cabarete. It is close enough that you can be in the action, and far enough where you can relax and enjoy the quiet. I recommend that you rent a car or have transportation, because it is not easy to walk to the center of town. The rooms are very clean and the staff is always willing to help. I would recommend it to all of my friends.

Owner response: Thank you Mercy! Serenity is 2 kilometers from the center of town, so we have recently got some discounted deals from Freddy Tours for scooters. We recommend people rent cars at the airport from $25 a day US, if you think you will be wanting to explore the countryside. Serenity Del Sol is a Great vacation spot. The condos were very clean and well kept. The surrounding grounds are beautiful. The condos offer a stunning view of the ocean and a private access to the beach. The beach is beautiful because you can see the blue water and the mountains on the distant right, stunning views. There was shopping close by and the Dominican people were very nice. I will be comming back for my vactions to Serenity Del Sol for years to come!

At Serenity Del Sol you won't feel locked in like at the all inclusive resorts. Feel safe to take walks and meet some of our friendly local Dominican neighbors. Our kitchens are adequate to cook at home, as there are many food stores with a wide variety of fresh foods, fruits and vegetables. Cabarete offers so much night life, water sports, and many sunny days per year. My husband and I are the developers of the units and offer a few different sized apartments for rent and sale. We will do everything possible to make sure your stay at Serenity is as enjoyable as possible. Welcome!

Thank you for a wonderful vacation. Just wanted to say that one week at Serenity Del Sol was enough time to know that I want to own a condo there as our second home! Please send me info on which units are still available for purchase. I am very interested in the penthouse we stayed in if it is still for sale.

Had a great time! the place is just so beautiful. We appreciated the extra bedroom, when the relatives came out to visit. Hope to see you next year.

Our stay at Serenity Del Sol was very pleasurable and relaxing. The accommodations were wonderful, very clean and beyond our expectations! The staff was more then accommodating! We stayed in the beautiful penthouse with spectacular views of the ocean and horses freely roaming there! The complex was extremely safe and secure! There are many exquisite restaurants (Embocca, Aresenio's, Martini's and Jose/O'Shay's) within the area, not to mention that the staff will also cook for you! DO NOT buy beef or pork in ANY market or the best local market which is Janet's but these restaurants are excellent; they import from the states. We travel often and our initial plan was to rent scooters but after realizing the driving habits of the locals, we rented a car from "Okay Rentals" (a good deal). The beach is beautiful and you can walk to Embocca 's; relax on there beach beds and be waited on like royalty! The place was great! The local people are wonderful! And, Thank you Vickie! You're a great hostess!
