Owner's Profile
Owner Description
We have lived in the Sandpoint area since 1983. Ellen opened and operated an art gallery and custom frame shop in downtown Sandpoint for 16 years. Gene has worked for Schweitzer Mountain Resort for over 20 years on the Ski Patrol. We have hiked the Selkirk and the Cabinet Mountains, fished and kayaked Pend O'reille Lake, the Clark Fork and Kootenai Rivers. We know the locals favorite Mountain biking routes. The Nest is the perfect place to experience Sandpoint and the surrounding area.
Why the Owner Chose Sandpoint
We built "The Nest" in 1994 after living in Sandpoint for 10 years. We were attracted to the Sandpoint area for its recreational lifestyle, the fishing, hiking, kayaking and skiing. It fulfilled our outdoor activity wish list.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The Nest is peaceful and private yet is only two miles from downtown Sandpoint.

The Nest-Quiet, Clean, Great Value, Very Nice

The Nest is very nice. We especially liked the large picture window with the rocker. The house had everything we needed. It is nice to have a few things there already like cleaning products, paper towels, trash bags, etc. Thanks for having them there. Also it was convenient to be able to use the washer and dryer. The layout of the kitchen was great to work with. The lighting was good for reading in the living area at night. It was a great temptation to pick some of the lilacs, but we controlled ourselves. That is my favorite flower. Thanks for helping to make our trip to Sandpoint enjoyable and comfortable.

Our daughter is attending a boarding school for troubled teen girls and we needed to come to Sandpoint for a week of workshop information and family therapy. I did not want to spend a week in a hotel, so I scouted around for what was available. It was so nice to come back to "the nest" every evening after 10 hour days of intense learning and counseling. We would stay at Ellen's and Gene's Little Nest again in such a situation.

As you can see, we are now residents od the Sandpoint area. When we rented we were from Dallas, TX. We came up to scout out the area for retirement. We were impressed with Little Nest from the moment we drove up. It is so well supplied, including laundry detergent. The views were great and the peace was so relaxing especially after our scouting expeditions. I would recommend this "nest" to friends and relatives in a heartbeat.

I would like to thank Ellen & Gene for the Christmas card...It was a great reminder of the wonderful time we had this last summer. My husband was a little sceptical about staying at a vacation rental, he wanted to stay at a hotel and wanted to me to cancel our reservation...I convinced him to give it a try. He was just sure he wasn't going to like it, when we got there he walked around and checked every thing out and looking out the big picture window he had a big smile on his face and said "you did good". We stayed at the "Nest" for a week, it was so relaxing and felt like home. Large enough for my family of three (my cousins family of four joined us for the weekend) and we had plenty of room. The best part of "my" vacation was I didn't have any laundry to do when we got home;-}. Would we stay again?? YOU BET!! Thanks again Ellen & Gene for letting us enjoy "Kline's little nest". Merry Christmas, The Stanbrough's Patty, Doug & Emma
