I took my daughter to LA for her high school senior trip and decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We stayed here at Manhatten Beach and counldn't have been more pleased. The studio was just as described and Brendon was awesome. He was available to answer any questions and even stopped by to make sure we were having a great time. The beach was beautiful and we felt so safe. (We had heard some horror stories of how unsafe LA could be, but not so here.) We loved riding the bikes along the beach and the surfers provided live entertainment every day. We can honestly say that this was one of our best vacations ever. (The only thing I feel someone should watch out for is parking tickets. Be sure to read every sign carefully and pay close attention and know the rules for the area. I received a $64 ticket for stopping at an estate sale to only find out I wasn't allowed to park in that neighborhood. I am disputing it but will not know anything for a couple of weeks. I hear LA is trying to generate revenue by giving out tickets. However, this is not anything against the studio I stayed in. I would stay there again in a heart beat. I would recommend this rental to my friends and family without any hesitation. A perfect vacation for my daugther's senior trip!!!!! Thanks again Brendon for everything. Pam

Just returned from holiday in LA spending 10 days in Brendhan's studio on The Strand. We read the reviews before booking and have to say the studio met all our expectations and more... This was our first visit to the west Coast, USA and we loved it. On arrival at the studio the views took our breath away, two words - simply stunning!! The Studio made our stay very special, it was welcoming, comfortable and quiet apart from the relaxing sound of the waves. It was also very well equipped, clean and well situated with the most amazing sunsets. It was easy to unwind and chill in the studio and there were sufficient cooking facilities to make a meal including a barbecue. There is also many restaurants, bars and shops nearby if required. We had lovely sunny weather and did the usual tourist things visiting many attractions nearby but our favourite past-time was relaxing in the studio taking in the views of Manhattan Beach particularly the surfers and dolphins in the ocean. The owner, Brendhan has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, fun and stress-free. We appreciated the laundry facilities and the beach equipment provided. We particularly enjoyed using the bikes spending many hours beach cruising along The Strand stopping off along the way at various interesting places enjoying a stroll, good food and cool drinks. Brendhan and Rosario were very helpful and were there if we needed any advice or tips about anything which was very reassuring. Great experience - to be recommended! The previous reviews of this house say and it all speaks for itself. we at this point can only emphasize that all positive data were real. We spent 2 weeks in the studio apartment and have enjoyed every second. The outlook is fantastic - LOCATION IS EVERYTHING - you can hear the ocean and does not need a TV / Radio more :). We also hear any noise or otherwise. Simply brilliant! The house is very well equipped. Gas grill, Bicycles, beach bikes, beach chairs, washing machine, Dryer etc. We missed nothing and be hopefully back soon. The landlord is very nice and helpful. is also his housekeeper Rosario truly a treasure and very thorough. Quite a great vacation. Thank you!

We stayed in this Studio over the Christmas period and it was great. Perfect for couples with no kids. Right on the beachfront, and location wise you cannot get any better. The facilities were great too, enough towels, kitchen equipment, bikes, beach towels, beach equipment, sun chairs etc. We were amazed at how much equipment we could borrow and we certainly took advantage of it! We have family who live nearby so definately a place we will be coming back to!

Wir können das ganze Ferienhaus empfehlen. Wir haben eine Woche im Studio verbracht und haben auch die anderen Wohnungen gesehen, die toll eingerichtet waren und sabuer sind. Wir fanden es auch toll, in der Garage alle Strandartikel wie Strandstuhl, Beachspiele sowie Fahrräder nutzen zu können. Man kommt gut über die Highways nach LA und kann in der Nähe ebenfalls viel unternehmen. Einfach ein toller Urlaub!!!! in einem Satz zusammengefasst: It was great, the best holidays ever.

Owner response:translated from german.. We can recommend the whole house. We have spent a week in the studio and have also seen the other apartments, which were set up and are great. We also found it great to use in the garage all the beach items such as beach chair, beach games and bicycles. It is well on the highway to LA and can also do a lot in the vicinity. Just a great holiday!! in one sentence: It was great, the best holidays ever.

I live in Manhattan Beach and put my parents up in the studio when they came to visit. I know the neighborhood well and the value of the properties start at 5 million on the Strand. So this was such a great value for my parents to be able to experience the "Strand Life" at the cost of a chain motel room's price. Brendhan was friendly, efficient and very welcoming to my folks. The place was clean, well equipped, stylish and obviously the view is incredible! This is my new "oceanfront guest room" for all my out of town visitors!

After an almost two-week road-trip to AZ, NV and CA, we enjoyed 6 days in the Studio on The Strand. It is a great base to either hang around the beach or see what you need to see in LA. The studio is homey, very well furnished and equipped, and clean. Things like bikes, beach beach-games, sunshades, or iron were available in the garage. If you love the ocean, amazing sunsets, and a many restaurant opportunities - this is a great deal, I think - we'd come again!

Our 2 weeks in the studio was amazing. The studio apartment was perfectly appointed and had the most amazing view. Brendhan was a pleasure to deal with and even helped me find an amazing surf camp for my 11 year old. The camp drop off was right in front of the studio. It was so easy and I could watch my daughter surf while relaxing in the studio! Rosario (the housekeeper extraordinaire!) is a sweetheart and made sure that we were settled in comfortably upon our arrival. Looking forward to returning soon to MB and staying there again!

Perfect, it couldn't have been better. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. The studio is fully equipped and on a prime location at the beach. We could even see the dolphins from our window. Brendhan and Rosario are super hosts. We will be back, very soon. Perfekt, es haette nicht besser sein koennen. We had a fabulous holiday on Manhatten Beach...the studio apartment was well appointed with amazing views...and in close proximity to some fabulous restaurants. This was a 6-night romantic getaway for us and we had a blast! The studio was perfect in every way, and was comfy and clean! We loved that we were able to cook with the provided portable stove top or the BBQ , but were walking/biking distance to good place to eat also! (We fell in love with Sharkeez in Hermosa Beach their happy hour is an amazing deal and their food is sooo good!) Being literally right on the strand was perfect for a morning job, or convenient for a bike ride, which we did a lot of. We did surfing lessons right in front of the studio, and didnt have to drive anywhere, and also spent a day on Catalina Island zip lining so much fun! Brendhan was an amazing host and made the reservation process super easy, and was very helpful! Also thanks for the fast refund of the deposit! We will be back next year, I think we found our new vacation spot =) 5+ Stars!

We spent four nights in the studio unit earlier this month, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. The location is amazing...right on the Strand and steps from the beach. The unit is spotless and well appointed with nice towels, bedding, dishes, furniture and a flat panel TV. We made good use of the bikes and beach gear in the garage. There is a wetsuit rental place just up the street that rents full-body suits for $10 a day, and plenty of walkable places to grab a bite to eat or a bottle of wine. If you are craving the sights and sounds of the ocean, this is the PERFECT location and a completely hassle free vacation. Quick cab ride from LAX and you don't have to pack anything..Brendhan has this place stocked up with everything you need to enjoy the beach.

I recently stayed in Brendhan's studio unit in Manhattan Beach. The unit was spotless, and and the views were fantastic! The location is great as everything is really within walking distance or a short bike ride. Bicycles, beach chairs, washer and dryer, and more, were provided which was nice. Brendhan was also very helpful if I had questions. He also provided a list in the room of suggested places to see, and places to eat, which came in handy. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay there again.

Not only was the unit perfectly situated on the Strand with wonderful ocean sounds right outside the front door, and well equipped and comfortable, but we also had bikes to be able to ride up and down the Strand and excellent service/support from the owner.

Oh, what a wonderful time we had in Manhattan Beach!  First thing we noticed when we pulled up was how close we were to the ocean, how magnificent the view was, how loud the sound of the waves were and how salty the air smelled - umm- WE WERE AT THE BEACH!!!!!   Second to that, once we entered the unit (sweet Rosario the housekeeper was just finishing up) was how nicely decorated and clean the unit was - THANKS ROSARIO!  Next we were starving after flying all day -- we walked up the street and found OB's to have a burger and a beer.  The rest of the week we spent almost entirely riding the (provided) bikes and laying in the sun working on our midwest "tans", if you will, or cruising the area looking in shops and eating things that are bad for you. My only regret is renting a car.  We didn't need it (Bren told us) and parking was kind of tough at some times to find a spot close to the apartment (studio only comes with street parking).  Anyways, other than that, we loved it! we'll be back!  Amazing place, and priced like staying at the Ramada Inn. P.S. Bren gave us lots of info on Manhattan Beach and its attractions and places to be, he was very nice and welcoming. It shows he's happy each guest has arrived.

We always try to rent accommodation when away rather than hotels and this one is perfect. Amazing location, wonderful amenities and no one is more helpful than Rosario. I often rent houses or apartments when I travel. Sometimes they are as depicted on the websites, sometimes they are not. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised to find the apartment not only as shown, but nicer than I expected. The view of the ocean is not to be beat. In fact when we were looking for a cool oceanfront restaurant to eat dinner we opted to bring in take-out and stay home! Brendhan and Rosario were extremely pleasant to deal with. I will definitely stay here again when I return to the area.

Loved the studio on The Strand! I'm originally from LA and this location is fantastic! Right in the heart of all the fun and excitement of Manhattan Beach. The studio is sunny, quiet,equiped with everything you need,super clean with a hip interior and the most comfortable bed!! (Jan 23-27) Words cannot express our enjoyment of staying at your studio. We loved waking up to seeing the strong waves brushing ashore in the mornings from our window. The location was perfect - a great location to walk to many places. What a treat! We loved Bren's "Swanky Beach Studio"...Bren and Rosario made the experience a true pleasure despite the "epic rain"...we did get some wonderful weather, and enjoyed the amazing view from the studio's front door, and the easy access to just about anything you might need. 5 STARS. Three words I would use to describe my experience INSPIRING, Thoughtful, and OCEAN-SIDE. This place is the Perfect Beach House -in the nicest little beach community. I did Yoga during my stay at the GREEN YOGI up the hill - walking distance. The place was about 30 minute drive to LA. Provided in the kitchen was an a Oyster Blender, wood cutting board, and full knife set with all IKEA dishes to help make cooking a breeze - so we did not overly -dine out - during our stay. "Thank you for providing these little details that make the biggest difference" Satalight radio, internet, Beautiful clean bed sheets, quality Pillows, CLEAN . CLEAN. and CLEAN. BIKES to ride / skate boards/ Sand chairs and beach towels all Provided. "FIVE-STAR" I lived like a queen. Thank you so much brendhan & rosario.

Awesome!! We absolutely loved Bren's place. It is fabulous. We can hardly wait to go back this fall. Where else can you stay right on the beach for this price? We walked the walking path, rode bikes (which were provided), walked the beach, watched the sunsets, ate great food. A washer and dryer is provided. Everything is provided. Our stay at Bren's condo was amazing, the view was beautiful from the morning sunrise watching the surfers til the evening at sunset, watching the tide roll in. Everything you can possibly desire is just a little hill climb away, salons, restaurants, entertainment. We really loved the bikes, exercizing never seemed so easy. I had brain surgery at the end of April, and my husband and I thought it would be wonderful to recuperate at the beach. We rented the studio for 2 weeks, and it was everything we hoped for and more! It was the perfect size for two people and was very comfortable and well appointed. The views from the fabulous picture windows were incredible from dawn until sunset, and our walks on the strnd were also wonderful. Bren was helpful and made us feel very much at home as did Rosario who kept the units immaculately clean. My recuperation has gone very well, and we'll definitely be back again!

What a lovely time we had! Enjoyed the bike rides, the barbeque, even did some reading on the beach. It's so nice to just step out the glass doors and take a walk on the Strand in either direction all along the beach. The kitchens' set up with everything we needed including a nice big electric skillet - we made pancakes often! The bed was a lot more comfortable than expected. Nice studio, all amenities provided including beach gear & bikes! Great oceanfront location w/in walking / riding distance to food & entertainment. Petros in MB is outstanding! Rented surf gear at El Porto around the corner on Highland. Best value & location found in LA! Bren is accommodating and friendly. Great Stay!

We stayed for 4 nights in April. As everyone else has expressed, great location - go to sleep to the sound of the waves, wake to the view of the surf. Will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

We were both very happy with our studio apartment. All of our "desires" for an intimate and peaceful holiday were met: This place gave us privacy, quietness, a GORGIOUS VIEW of the ocean, the sound of the waves 24/7, and close to restaurants, stores, and points of interest. We will definitely be going back! We tell everyone that we got the best little apartment on the whole west coast! Thanks Bren!

The studio unit is wonderful with an easy to use and comfortable murphy bed. Loved the view, a perfect spot to watch the sunset with your favorite beverage. Had a great time cruising the strand with the seemingly brand new bikes. Found the management to be friendly and accommodating. Thanks!!

WOW! We loved it! Views of beautiful blue ocean for miles. It was nice just to grill our dinner, drink wine and watch the world go by. Our host Bren was very easy to work with and made sure we were comfortable. We'll be back!
