My husband and I rented Peggy's home for one week in April 2012. We honestly could not have been happier! The house is well situated - only a block from Alamo Square (with a fantastic children's playground), lots of restaurants, a fun wine bar, and the bus stop. The house is super clean and big with high ceilings, loads of light and great architectural details. We had three adults in our party and a two-year old and never once felt cramped. To the contrary, we felt like we were at home! Peggy keeps the house well-stocked, and we were happily surprised to find lots of toys for our two-year old to play with! Peggy and Oz are incredibly friendly and helpful - stated simply, whether you are traveling alone or with an entire family, this house is perfect. We hope to return soon :-)

Familly's trip - vacances en famille

We are a french familly, living in Houston, visiting SF with the grand-parents. Peggy's appt was just perfect ! Location is excellent, appt is super confortable with a very nice french style decoration. All rooms have excellent beds. Bathroom were full of towells. Peggy provided us as well with a crib & high chair for our little one and the kids were extremly happy to find toys to play with during our stay. I defintly recommand the place for familly trip or friends gateway ! everything was lovely.

Our family recently had the wonderful opportunity to rent this beautiful flat during spring break. We immediately felt at home the moment we began to settle in. We loved being able to seamlessly transition into a San Francisco life style without the force fit of being in a hotel. Beds were comfortable, the house was clean, kitchen well equipped, and public transportation just out the door. I have already recommended this property to my niece for a college reunion.

Fantastic Stay

We (family of four: two adults, a 4 year old and a 2 year old) loved our stay in the flat. It is spacious and roomy. Quiet. The owner had toys for our sons and the place was extremely well-equipped, tastefully furnished. It is in a lovely neighborhood - really authentic -- with something for everyone, including great food. Other than one occasion when we caught a taxi, we took the bus everywhere, super convenient, and visited the Golden Gate Park, Crissy Field, went for long walks, the SF MOMA and Yerba Buena, and also were easily able to fit in traditional touristic stuff like Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, and the cable cars & museum. The organic Mexican restaurant the owners recommend is really good. Definitely would stay there agin.

We were so impressed. The flat is much bigger than we expected. It is just a block away from the well known Alamo Square Park and the famous painted ladies. We could not believe it. We loved our stay during Christmas. We love San Francisco and this is a perfect location, close to lots of coffee shops, restaurants; the bus is out the front door. The neighborhood is great, very unique with beautiful homes, there is a dog park just one block away. There are many very good restaurants within walking distance on Market street or you can hop on a bus. The flat was very clean, had a great kitchen, really appreciated the 3 nicely furnished bedrooms and two full baths. There were some board games on hand which came in handy, and laptop with wifi. It was just a great getaway and the owners were particularly helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this property to any family wanting to spend a nice holiday in a wonderful city.

My family of 4, kids aged 12 and 16 loved this property. The old victorian style home really made you feel you were part of San Francisico. It was VERY clean and comfortable.Peggy supplies you with all the information you need for the area and her suggestions of restaurants (walking distance) were fantastic. The kids were able to have their own space in their own room and had a separate bathroom from us. Public transport very close and easy to navigate. Overall I can't say enough about this property, what are you waiting for? BOOK NOW...

San Francisco apartment rental.

My husband and another couple stayed in this apartment for 3 nights in September. We were surprised at how large the apartment is and we were happy with the location. It was very clean and modern, and we were able to park our rental car in front of the garage. We were within walking distance to the Hop On, Hop Off bus which we used one day. If you don't have a car, there is also buses that stop on the street. We met the owner, Peggy, who was so nice to talk to. The apartment had everything we needed and we felt that it was a much nicer option than staying in a small downtown hotel room. This apartment is great for 2 couples, a group of friends, or a family. We thought the price of the rental was reasonable, but that the cleaning fee was a bit high. Our only complaint.

After a long flight from Boston to San Fran, a welcome respite from the ho hum usual stay at a hotel. Large, spacious, CLEAN, centrally located Victorian flat with gracious hostess within a phone calls reach for any questions, any time of day. Did I say CLEAN ??? Immaculate. Walking distance to many top spots in San Fran as well as commuter rail, restaurant, and tour bus accessible. Internet ready, cable, full kitchen, spa baths, what more can we say? This is a must if you want to stay in San Fran with your family or another couple.

Arriving around midnight and not knowing what to expect we ascended up the stairs. Room by room (6 plus the two baths !) we put on the light and for each room we said...."NICE!" Two couples wanted to visit SF. We wanted our privacy but we wanted to share stories, laughter and a good bottle of wine at night. This flat enabled us to.....our own bedrooms and bath and a nice front sitting room and a large kitchen in the back. Each room was nicely decorated and the place was immaculate. We didn't want to cook at the flat but we did want our morning coffee and perhaps evening happy hour - both were accomodated. We wanted to experience life like a San Franciscan and the Alamo Square area with it's beauty, coffee houses and fine restarants enabled us to. Walking to a bus stop seemed to not be a problem..........we enjoyed walking to tour pickups or to Union Square. At the end of the day from theh Pier a short taxi ride was in order :-) . Our only issue encountered was parking for the car (we were headed up and down the coast after SF). There is a driveway but a mid-size barely fits. We found parking on the street okay. My suggestion is forget the car and live the city life ! Can't wait to get back to visit the area again........and plan on staying at this flat once again.

Our extended family of 7 stayed in the Flat for 2 nights in early September and we had a fantastic stay. Peggy was very helpful to deal with prior to our arrival and when we arrived was quick to offer her advice on how to get around town. The flat suited our needs perfectly with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/dining, lounge room and study meaning we had plenty of room to move around and it was a much better option than staying in small hotel rooms. Washing machine and dryer also came in handy. There was even a porta cot, high chair and toys for our 1 year old to use which was fantastic! The location was very convenient with the bus into the city running along the street. We didn't need to use our car for the two days we were there. We would definitely stay there again in future. We visited San Francisco with my teenage kids along with a 5 yr old and 3 yr old. This place was perfect for us as we could all spread out and have a bit of space. The flat is beautiful and very well maintained. It was also easy to catch a bus to wherever we wanted to go. We would stay here again if we had the chance!

Comfort and Convenience

4 of us, using all 3 bedrooms, spent a week in this extremely comfortable, well appointed apartment and loved being there. We walked down to the Civic Centre (20 minutes), though we could have easily caught a bus from outside the door that would have taken us past there through to Fisherman's Wharf. We walked to great little (cheap) cafes and restaurants that were recommended by the owners. We made use of the wi-fi, we sat around the (small but cosy) table enjoying good wine. We had a great time. Strongly recommended!

Unforgettable Experience

Our family of four has just returned home from a week long stay in the SF Bay area. Perhaps, one of the best decisions we made was selecting this Alamo Square apartment as our place of lodging during our visit! It was perfect in every way and helped set the tone for an incredible travel experience. In searching the internet for accomodations in SF I am amazed that individuals will still opt for the traditional "hotel stay". In Peggy's apartment we had multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and cooking and laundry facilities. Who could ask for more while traveling?! The most important factor for us, however, was returning to the property each evening, tired from a day of sightseeing, and feeling like we were "at home". That fact, in and of itself, is a priceless feeling when traveling far away from our own home. Therein I have finally hit upon the highest compliment that I can give a property owner of a vacation rental: This Alamo Square apartment, with it all of its wonderful, comfortable appointments, was truly a "home away from home" for us and helped us experience a side of life in San Franciso that those who choose hotel stays can never experience! We loved this place!! Our family stayed here for my daughter's law school graduation from the University of San Francisco. Our party included 7 people who managed very comfortably in this wonderful rental property located in the historic Alamo Square district. The on-line photos and information provided were very accurate. Peggy was very helpful in getting arrangements made through our e-mails. The flat was bright, sunny and comfortably appointed and included everything we needed for our 6 day stay. The property was well-maintained and the kitchen included top-of-the-line appliances. We found the washer and drier very helpful to us with our large crowd. We appreciated having internet access during our stay. We were able to cook for ourselves, while we stayed there and even had a small gathering at the flat following graduation for cake and refreshments. The neighborhood is very nice and within walking distance of local grocery stores and coffee shops. We found that we could easily navigate the city from this location. The dedicated parking space was an added bonus, since we had rental cars for our large group. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends, relatives or anyone looking for a vacation rental in San Francisco. You will enjoy this place immensely!

Myself, my partner and the parents-in-law stayed in Peggy's beautiful accommodation for a week. The apartment is a historic Victorian apartment that is comfortably furnished and spacious enough for a group of four adults to relax and not get in each other's way. The apartment had everything you need to make it feel like a home away from home. Peggy provides not only a lovely bottle of wine on arrival, but also a welcome pack with maps of the local area listing cafes/restaurants and markets as well as lots of tourist information to help you plan your stay. The neighbourhood itself has streets of the beautiful San Francisco style Victorian homes. Around the corner from the apartment are the famous "Painted Ladies" and amazing views of the city. There are small grocery stores within walking distance that you can get daily items from and they are open early to late, so great when you first arrive. About ten minutes walk away is Faletti Foods which is a fantastic gourmet market that also does prepared foods like oven roasted chicken and steamed veggies, for when you want to eat at home but don't wish to cook. There is no need for a car as the apartment is located on a major transport route. You just jump on one way to go downtown (and towards Fisherman's Wharf) or the other way to Golden Gate park. My memories of this apartment are of sitting in the kitchen in the morning sunshine leisurely making plans for that day and enjoying time with my family. This apartment is not just a place to stay each night, it is a warm and inviting space that encourages you to linger and relax. I would happily stay here again in an instant.

We could not believe it when we first went up the stairs, we were in a house that survived the big 1906 Earthquake. It looked exactly like on the photos, and was even better. So spacious and so much light. The location was perfect. There are so great restaurants and cafe. We highly recommend this place and hope to come back next year.

This gorgeous period property is just a stones throw from the famous historic Painted Ladies in the Alamo Square district. It is spacious and superbly well equipped with every home comfort. Travelling with young children and unable to stay out late sampling some of SF night life, it was lovely to think we could spend the evening in space and luxury with a home cooked meal or take-out and a glass of wine, in much greater comfort than a hotel room. The bus passes right by for down town, further out don't miss the national park at Crissy Field and Baker Beach. We can't wait to get back!

Grandparents, kids, and grandkids all loved staying at this lovely Victorian Flat--so much better than a hotel. We were there the first of April and had a fabulous time touring the Bay Area. The weather was perfect. Great, comfortable flat with plenty of room for the six of us. Beautiful, roomy kitchen with everything you'd need to cook. We mostly ate out--lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood. It was a bonus to have the parking space, as we mostly took the No. 5 bus which practically came to our door. This is a beautiful home to stay in. It is central to everything. We were there with a family and a minivan, and parking wasn't an issue, which seemed to be a big plus. The Muni is literally at the end of the block. Alamo Park was a great place to let the kids burn off some energy, and was within 5 minutes walk. Our overall experience with the owners, property and city was phenomenal. If you are planning on staying in San Francisco, then this wonderful rental is the way to go.

Nous avons passé 4 jours dans cet appartement à notre arrivée à San Francisco. My family and I rented this apartment for 5 days during our California vacation. We were very happy with the apartment and owner. Highly recommended for a family of up to 6 (comfortably). The apartment was clean and very well furnished, and felt like home rather than a hotel. The place is conveniently located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood just minutes walk from Alamo Square park and only 15 minutes drive to downtown. We had a minivan and Peggy kindly let us park in their driveway during our stay. Be sure to ask beforehand because on-street parking is at a premium especially overnight in San Fransisco!

L'appartement en lui même est grand, spacieux, très typique du quartier des maisons victoriennes avec un charme fou. Pour un premier voyages à San Francisco cette location nous a permis d'apprécier notre séjour à sa juste valeur. Nous sommes venus pour un voyage romantique et découverte, nous n'avons pas été déçus du voyage!! De plus l'appartement offre des prestations assez hauts de gamme et nous avons eu la surprise d'avoir sur la table une bouteille de vin et des chocolats à notre arrivée! We had such a great time in this centrally located and charming Victorian home. We still can't believe that the house is over 100 years old. It was only 25 minutes from the airport, it is an excellent location. There is parking and you can also walk to anywhere very easily. Great coffee shops, restaurant a few blocks away. We loved walking to the local Farmers Market on Sundays. Nous avons beaucoup aime cet appartement, typique maison Victorienne.

I come to SF a couple of times a year for business and I always arrange to stay a couple of days extra to enjoy the city. I must say that this apartment is among the very best I have stayed at in this city. First of all, the place itself is very nicely furnished with everything you can ask for, including many guidebooks to organize activities during your stay. The street is quiet but very well located, within a block of Alamo Square and walking distance to many restaurants and grocery stores. If you are here for tourism, many neighborhoods are less than 30mn walking distance or a couple of minutes by cab/bus. I had to attend business in the CBD for several days and again it took no more than 30 mn to walk there. For the days I was in a hurry, I hired a cab which took less than 10 mn to get me to the office. Last but not least, this is a fantastic value. The price for such a large apartment in such a good location is hard to beat. Before finding this flat, I was used paying up to twice the price for a smaller place and much further away from downtown. No need to say I will be back!

We were a group of 4 siblings (no husbands or wives) who visited SF together because we like each other. Peggy's flat was absolutely perfect for us - lovely Victorian, great kitchen, loved the computer for searching for tourist info, generous room to spread out, nice bathrooms, and the location is ideal (handy to buslines and numerous city attractions). We enjoyed breakfast at Eddie's Cafe and had some of the best pizza EVER at Star Pizza - both on Divisadero. The neighborhood was safe and quiet with great old Victorians. Peggy was most gracious and made us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend this flat to others.

Excellent property! Great location very close to Alamo square and several little markets, coffee houses or restaurants. The Muni runs right by so you don't have to drive, but if you have a car this is a *rare* place that has a parking spot in SF. The kitchen is very well equipped so you can easily have most meals at "home", and with three bedrooms and two baths we found it ideal for a family vacation. Plenty of space and amenities. The charming house, the central location, the public transportation access all made for a fantastic trip to San Francisco for the Nike Women's Marathon. It is right between Union Square and Golden Gate Park (beginning and end of the race). The beautiful kitchen had all the cooking tools needed for a pre-race dinner and relaxing experience. We will definitely be calling Peggy again for future trips to San Francisco. No more hotels in SF for me......a house is absolutely the way to go!

This vrbo right next to Alamo Square in central San Francisco had so many things that worked for us: it was large enough for our party of 6, the beds were very comfortable in generously-sized rooms, the kitchen was bright and large enough that several cooks could use it at one time. You should be prepared for lots of stairs to climb to get in/out, but after that, it is all one-floor living. This vrbo was very quiet and in a safe neighbourhood, close to several great coffee houses and a cute little natural foods store (Good Earth) that we frequented. The Muni bus ran right outside the house and we used it extensively (thanks for the 2 free MUNI passes), but there was also a place to park (a rarity in SF!). Peggy and Oz, our hosts, were a Godsend – respected our privacy, but when we needed them, they were there in spades. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay in this great vrbo.

We loved your flat. The enormous high ceilings and Victorian decorative features are fabulous, the rooms are beautifully decorated, and the kitchen is well equipt. I would recommend this flat without hesitation.

Four of us spent a very enjoyable four nights at the flat--sightseeing and seeing the City. We were very comfortable; it is spacious, home-like and pretty. We loved staying in a historic Victorian. The area is great--very convenient having the shops, stores, cafes, etc. right down the street on Divisidero. We had a couple of meals over there, picked up newspapers, got provisions for breakfasts, and brought home pizza one night. We had a rental car (probably not the best decision--parking is such a pain, and expensive in the city) but the buses are right on McAllister Street. I would definitely recommend the flat to friends traveling to San Francisco

Hi, We had a fabulous stay at the Victorian Flat owned by Peggy. She was easy to work with. The building is an oldie but a goodie. It is fairly well maintained! It is a nice for larger group or a family. Easy to walk to Alamo Square. The beds were comfortable, firm mattresses. Very cute decorations on the inside, great big TV and ipod adapter for music. If you have someone sleeping on the pull out in the living room, beware there are no blinds! There was also internet and a laptop, wonderful for travel research. I highly recommend staying here.

This elegant Victorian apartment is fantastic! It is located right on a bus line, two blocks from Alamo Square and its famous "Painted Ladies" Victorians. The apartment is extremely spacious and recently completely refurbished. The kitchen is fully equipped (although we ate meals out. There are tons of good restaurants and coffe shops in the neighborhood.) the bedrooms are huge and the bathrooms are unbelievable! We would highly recommend this apartment and would be happy to stay here again ourselves when the situation arises. Thanks Peggy!

This rental was exactly what we needed! Location was excellent. We could walk to many sites or take the Muni. Central to all the sites we wanted to see. Very clean! We loved our stay here and hope to return again soon! (parking was very convenient!) Highly recommend this lovely home!

The flat was beautiful, very spacious and clean. Very centrally location. Situated in a safe neighborhood with several restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Walk to Golden Gate Park and a quick bus, car, or taxi ride into downtown. Though we did not use it, there was a full kitchen with pots/pans, etc. Will definitely stay here next time!

What a wonderful surprise to turn the key into this lovely apartment. Everything exceeded our expectations: the size of the apartment, its decoration, its location. The kitchen is big and very well equipped. I should also mention the amazing bathroom, I did not want to leave the bath.

Fabulous Victorian flat near Alamo Square

As soon as we stepped into the flat we felt at home and relaxed. Beautifully maintained, with plenty of room, great kitchen and bathrooms and a great vibe. You do need to be able to get up plenty of stairs. We were only a few minutes walk from lovely Alamo Square and great restaurants and cafes.(Recommend "Bean there" for coffee, and St. Germain Bistro or Alamo Square Seafood Grill for restaurants). Caught the number 5 (Fulton) bus outside the flat for downtown, how brilliant is that!!! And the bus service is very regular, like every 8 minutes. We felt very safe in the immediate vicinity of the flat, but would recommend catching bus or taxi if heading downtown at night. We spent time admiring the beautiful old world buildings in the area. WOW! This house was much more than I had even anticipated! I rented this house for me and my family (6 adults) we all loved the spacious, comfortable and spotless house. There was all the comforts of home available to us and the fact that there was a parking space available to us was a true PLUS! The house was very tastefully decorated, included original artwork, and a wonderful library of books to read. My son-in-law is a New York chef and he found the kitchen to be excellent! My son was able to entertain us with a guitar at his disposal too! A wonderful environment, good food and entertainment...what more can you ask for! We will definitely want to stay here again when we visit San Francisco.

I was absolutely amazed as I parked on the driveway to find this beautiful building located in a quiet neighborhood. I had rented this place for my friends from LA and NY. They were in LOVE with this place. It was spacious, well kept and comfortable. You will immediately feel at "home". I will definitely rent this flat again.

Lovely home! Lovingly furnished and staged for guests. We did not rent a car but were able to get around fine on the MUNI system which comes right by the front door. The house book gave us good ideas of cafes close by and the Academy of Science/Golden Gate Park is only 10 min bus ride west. Safe, quiet neighborhood and the tall windows in the home made our one rainy day its own delight! We will be back and recommend to our friends. Thanks again...
