Winter at the beach is a fabulous time to visit Amelia Island. It's a quieter time to enjoy magnificent ocean views, walk on 13 miles of white sandy beaches and enjoy all the Amelia Island area has to offer from this beachfront condominium. Located directly OCEANFRONT with white sandy beaches and sea oats. This updated unit features a new kitchen (ocean view) with all appliances and cookware and lots of counter space, a comfortable dining room which seats up to 6, a relaxing ocean view living area with a large sofa, love seat and a comfortable chair, TV and DVD player, an ocean view master suite with super comfortable king size bed and Plantation shutters. The second bedroom offer a Queen size bed and a Twin size bed. There is a second bath with tub and shower in the hallway adjacent to the second bedroom. The large balcony offers a dining table for 4 plus two comfortable chairs and an ottoman for hours of watching the dolphin play and birds forage along the shoreline. The pool is cool and inviting with plenty of lounge chairs. There are manicured grounds perfect for kids to play on when they are ready to get off the beach (if that happens!). Enjoy a morning walk with a cup of coffee to start your day at the beach and then perhaps a picnic while you enjoy watching the waves lap on the beach or come in from a few hours of surfing. The Atlantic Ocean is ever changing and can go from glass-like to rolling waves to chops over the course of your stay, but it is all fun and a beauty to behold.
Centrally located close to downtown Fernandina Beach where you'll find a charming historic district with unique shops, fine dining and art galleries. You'll also want to watch the sun set and perhaps enjoy a cool drink from the downtown waterfront cafe or from the Marina where you'll see shrimp boats and large yachts. The bold reds and golds of the setting sun will amaze you as sailboats glide by and the fisherman pull up their rods after another day of catching reds, trout or any number of popular fish in the area.
If you enjoy hiking or biking don't miss Fort Clinch State Park's trails and be sure to check out the long pier if you like to fish. The historic Fort is a treat to experience and will allow you to take a step back in time. There are also picnic areas, playgrounds and miles of beach and marsh to explore. This is an excellent area for finding fossilized sharks teeth.
