This ocean front home in Prospect Harbor, built in 2008, is situated on a wooded lot overlooking a beautiful rocky coast. The spacious three bedroom, two bathroom cape style home offers an open floor plan with wonderful views of the bay and Prospect Harbor Lighthouse. This home is fully furnished and comfortably sleeps six. All bed linens, towels and blankets are included.
From the property, kayak in the bay, fish, or just enjoy the fresh ocean air as you pick your way over the rocks and slabs of pink Maine coast granite. The large deck, running the length of the home, is a wonderful place to relax with a book, sketch the ocean views, or enjoy your meals listening to nature. Be alert for sightings of the bald eagles that nest in the area.
Prospect Harbor is located on Gouldsboro Peninsula approximately 5 miles from the entrance to the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park. The seven mile loop around Schoodic Point is ideal for hiking and biking. For those less adventurous, drive the scenic loop and stop along the way for views of Frenchman's Bay and Mount Desert Island.
From Schoodic, drive into Winter Harbor and grab a bite to eat at one of its the several restaurants. Shop at the local stores and galleries, scout out bargains at the 5 and 10, or take the ferry boat to Bar Harbor. A short drive from Winter Harbor to Grindstone Neck brings you to a public 9 hole golf course with views of the ocean from every green.
