Why the Owner Chose The Village
Beautiful beaches, golf, tennis, boating, fishing and some special event almost every month. Wonderful restaurants, live theater, concerts, walking tours, historic homes tours, antique shows, garden torus, plantation tours, the Aquarium, art galleries, Gibbes Art museum, the Childrens Museum, Water parks, Horse and Carriage tours, it just never ends. Veg out on the beach if you like that but if you want interesting things to do Charleston never disappoints.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We stay as guests ourselves once in a while at our condo because we love the convenience and service. The four diamond AAA rating means that standards are high and amenities at hand. We can take a short walk to the Boardwalk Inn for dinner or relax with a Pina Colada by the pool overlooking the beach. We can pick up a paper at Hudsons Deli or a bagel or sandwich or coffee. The grandkids insist on getting ice cream there or at Duneys on the Boardwalk. We can zip into the fitness center or walk to tennis. There are bikes to rent and tee times to reserve-don't miss the list of special events by month in the rates section of this listing.
Owner's Map of The Village
We own another house in Wild Dunes where we visit frequently but we live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. We have children and grand children in the Charleston area and have been enjoying the beaches, restaurants, special events there since 1996. We boat and fish and explore the Cape Romain National Seashore which guests can do on an Eco tour. We love to bike and beach and spend time in the historic downtown area of penisula Charleston. For us it is ever so much more than just a beach vacation. We have spent our lives traveling many places in the world but Charleston is an all time favorite.

Fabulous Week Away

Staying in this condo in the Village was absolutely perfect for us. We have 2 kids, who had their own bedroom and bathroom, while the main living area separated their sleeping from the adults sleeping area. The balcony was key for sandy boogie boards, toys and bags. The well-appointed kitchen and wonderful views and amenities that come with being a "wild dunes guest" cannot be replicated. This listing is accurate, and we were more than comfortable in this condo. Nearby, the use of tennis after 12pm for an hour each day is complimentary. The excellent cabana service (yep, it's pricey - $30/day for an umbrella and 2 chairs) is unparalleled - they bring you food and drink to the beach! The bikes looked nice, though they were out of them for us during the busy July 4th week. Note: make reservations for all activities more than a week before you arrive if you're going for the holiday weeks/ends. We'll be back. Thanks, Skip!
