The large bedroom has cross ventilation and a king-size bed. There are views of the ocean and jungle. Swing on the hammock on the balcony. There are ceiling fans and air conditioning. Maid service is provided daily. There is on-site laundry service for a nominal fee.
Akumal is about 60 miles south of Cancun on the Mayan Riviera. It is the diving and snorkeling haven of the Yucatan. The famous Yal-ku Lagoon is walking distance from the condominium. Xel Ha, Xcaret, Playa del Carmen, Cenotes, and the Mayan Ruins of Tulum and Coba are a short drive.
There is a romantic restaurant with room service on site and a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The quaint village of Akumal also has restaurants, markets, shops, dive shops, and a health club and Yoga center.
There is a beachfront swimming pool and pool shower for guests.
There is also a studio/efficiency casita (small house) available for the budget traveler.

Year Purchased: 2001
Paul and I live on a lake in upstate New York. We are water people who love to travel. Our children had their honeymoon in Akumal. Now they come with our grandchildren and Jacob is old enough for us to enjoy watching him play in the sand, run into the ocean swim in the pool.
Why the Owner Chose Akumal
Paul & I started coming to the Yucatan in 1996. On our first trip we fell in love with the beaches and snorkeling in Akumal. We were fascinated by the Myan ruins and culture. On our third trip we bought a beachfront condo in Playa del Carmen. When we were down in 2000 we were back in Akumal and realized this was the spot that made us love the area. Our one-bedroom is the perfect beachfront spot to plan our Mayan adventures. We also bought 2 studio/efficiencies for friends and family when they come to visit. The sunsets over the jungle are a perfect way to end our day.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
We love the light and airy feel to our condo and its privacy. It is often called the Honeymoon Nest. After our morning beach walk we enjoy our breakfast on our large balcony with the view of the Bay. There's always the hammock to swing in. The condo is in the sandy center of Half Moon Bay and the snorkeling is right out the door. Our management is wonderful and always there to make your stay a pleasant one. The condo is easy walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants, dive shop, and YalKu Lagoon. You can always order room service and watch the moon rise over the water.

We had a great time! Snorkeling was wonderful - my boys loved it. We saw a turtle and barracuda plus lots of fish! Everyone said the snorkeling right out front was the best in the area! The condo worked out perfect. Wonderful location and the town is so calm and relaxing. I had my coffee on the patio every morning so I could see the water.
