Yal Kul Lagoon, a fresh/saltwater snorkeling paradise is a short walk away. You are easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, shops, and convenience stores. Akumal Bay is about a 1.7km away with many restaurants, markets, spa, yoga studio, shops, dive shops, artist's studio's and more.

- There is a full futon in the living area. Beach chairs & towels provided, our beach has palapas for shade, there is a beach shower for rinsing off, snorkeling in the bay is wonderful, Yoga Studio in town, Yal Ku Lagoon within walking distance, restaurant in town and within easy walking distance, twice weekly farmer's market. Akumal is well located on the Mayan Riveria. We are easy driving distance to Mayan Ruins, swim with the dolphins, cenotes, caves, colonial cities, eco-parks and adventure parks.

Paul and I live on a lake in upstate New York. We are water people who love to travel. Paul is a horticulturist and I am a retired teacher and school couselor. We love swimming and snorkeling in the bay and sitting on the beach reading. We enjoy our morning coffee on our balcony and taking a beach walk. In the evening we enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset on our roof top patio. Our children had their honeymoon in Akumal. Now they come with our grandchildren and we love watching them create wonders in the sand.
Why the Owner Chose Akumal
Paul & I started coming to the Yucatan in 1996. On our first trip we fell in love with the beaches and snorkeling in Akumal. We were fascinated by the Mayan ruins and culture. On our third trip we bought a beachfront condo in Playa del Carmen. When we were down in 2000 we were back in Akumal and realized this was the spot that made us love the area. Our one-bedroom is the perfect beachfront spot to plan our Mayan adventures. We also bought 2 studio/efficiencies for friends and family when they come to visit. The sunsets over the jungle are a perfect way to end our day.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
We love the light and airy feel to our condo and its privacy. It is often called the Honeymoon Nest. After our morning beach walk we enjoy our breakfast on our balcony with the view of the Bay. The condo is in the sandy center of Half Moon Bay and the snorkeling is right out the door. Our management is wonderful, on site, and always there to make your stay a pleasant one. The condo is easy walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants, dive shop, and YalKu Lagoon. We end our day on the rooftop terrace and watch the sunset over the jungle and the moon rise over the water.

We had a wonderful stay in this condo. The unit is very clean, quiet, the pictures are accurate and the owner was very helpful. Things we really liked about the condo were the size of the complex , it is small, the location on a beautiful beach and the friendly, helpful local staff. The location of this condo is ideal on Half Moon Bay, you can walk to Akumal or the Yal Ku lagoon to snorkel. Beach access is easy and the beach is well maintained. The view from the deck is gorgeous. A perfect place for morning coffee.We also liked the central air conditioning which we did not need to use much, it was January, but it was nice to have more than a bedroom window unit. Most importantly we would return for another vacation and would definitely recommend this condo to family and friends. There is a great deal to do in and around Akumal. Some of our favorites are: snorkeling in Yal Ku lagoon, and at Akumal beach,and the cenotes. The cenote book on the coffee table is very helpful. Lunch on the beach at La Buena Vida, dinner at the Turtle Bay Cafe & ice cream at Lucy's. Bicycles are available for rent but are very popular so reserve ahead of time. Access to this condo from the Cancun airport is easy and there are many, many options of things to see and do nearby. If you can only see one ruin, see Coba, it was our favorite.
