We stayed at Bruce and Sue's condo from May 26th thru May 30th. Everything was just as they had described. The condo was beautiful with more than enough space for the five of us. The view from each room and the balcony was absolutely gorgeous. The beach on the property had us all at a loss for words. They have plenty of beach chairs as well as hammocks to relax and enjoy the beach. The condo had everything we could possibly need and more. It was well stocked with all essentials for cooking and cleaning. They had snorkeling gear, noodles and even coolers were available for use to bring food and drinks down the pool or beach. We enjoyed every bit of our vacation and will definitely be using this condo again for any future ventures to St. Thomas.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

East End Eden is as promised and more. The information on line was accurate. We were very pleased with how the owners cared about their guests. Light switches were labeled which helped immeasurably, since we were in a new place and many staple items were already available upon arrival (i.e. paper towels, toilet paper, sandwich bags, etc). On our second night, the owners called to be sure we had no questions. How nice! Everything was clean and we felt right at home. Each bedroom as well as the common area all had private balconies and the view was wonderful. We have stayed on St. Thomas 8 previous times and we enjoyed this location the best. We much prefer the East End of the island because it is so convenient to the ferry in order to venture other places. Cabs can be expensive and if you have a group of 4 or more a rental car is the best option. We enjoyed the convenience of the on property restaurants ("Sangrias") for breakfast and evenings for pizza, salad and burgers especially if your day was full and you just wanted to stay "home" and there is also an upscale restaurant for a nice dinner right on the beach. We also enjoyed "Fish Tails" in Red Hook, really good and more reasonable than most. The owners had DVD's, tv, games, books, and snorkeling equipment available. It was nice to have a washer and dryer so pack lightly. The owners really treat their guests right. You feel like they have shared their paradise home away from home with you. We will be back as soon as the budget allows. Many thanks for all the extras that made our stay just perfect.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This place was perfect for a girls trip. Great living space in the middle of 2 large bedrooms to relax and lounge. Having a balcony off of each room facing the beach area was a very nice benefit. Perfect breeze in the evenings to sit out and relax. Perfect description by the owners on the site. Overall very clean, well maintained and great amenities. There is a cab driver on site most of the time that you can coordinate pick ups to restaurants, etc. as needed. Bad Kitty Catamaran Island tour was great and would recommend. Be sure to go to Yacht Haven Grande to shop and eat at The Fat Turtle. The girls and I will be back! Thanks Sue and Bruce!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was my 3rd time staying in this condo, and once again it was divine! We absolutely love the area. Having the pool, the beach, pool bar and restaurants all a hop, skip and jump away is fabulous, I have been to St Thomas several times, but discovered a hidden gem of a beach, Lindquist. It is a little past Sapphire, but before Coki. There is a $2.00 per person admission fee and there are no concessions, but it is quiet and stunning. Once again, I can nit say enough about this villa. If your travel plans take you to St Thomas, trust me when I tell you, you won't find many places better then this condo. Thanks again Sue and Bruce for another wonderful stay.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

East End Eden is a great place to stay in St. Thomas. We spent 4 nights on our way to St. John. We always stay in condos or private villas when we travel and have stayed in some very expensive places in Europe and the Caribbean that were not anywhere near as well thought out or well equipped as this one. East End Eden has absolutely everything you could possibly want. It is immaculate, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. There were 4 of us--two couples. I love to cook and the kitchen is a dream--well stocked with stuff you seldom find in a rental. Little touches like Zip lock bags and extra batteries for the remotes, soap for both the dishwasher and the clothes washer, dryer sheets, lots of condiments and every kitchen gadget you can imagine. This a place you can actually live in--maybe even better than you do at home! Sue and Bruce are easy to work with, and very well organized. They sent us a comprehensive report in advance of our departure to the islands with info on things to see and do in the area, restaurants, stores, etc. Also very good directions from the airport and detailed info about how things operate--not just at East End Eden, but in the islands, in general. The hot tub was out of order while we were there, but it's not the fault of the owners--it's on the property grounds next to the pool which was wonderful. Stay here--you will love it. PS. There are two restaurants at the Elysian Beach. The Caribbean Fish Market was excellent, Sangrias was not!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway.

We loved our stay at the Elysian! Bruce and Sue will definately make your stay worthwhile. The location ( 5 minutes from Red Hook) was great. The resort and grounds are well maintained and clean, and we had ample parking right outside our door. We were in building B, very close to the pool, beach and on-site restaurants. We did not use the spa or exercise facilities. The condo is large and sunny and extremely clean. The well stocked kitchen had everything we needed. The comfortable living room and two huge bedrooms (each with full bathroom) had flat screen TVs. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated having several extra pillows, and loved the big fluffy bath towels. There are balconies off the living room and each bedroom. The third full bathroom with a tub/shower unit was a bonus. The living room and each bedroom had wall A/C units which worked great; however, they are somewhat noisy, so we turned them off at night and relied on the ceiling fans. The owners provided several sets of snorkel equipment for our use. Pool/Beach: The pool was crystal clear; the adjacent hot tub was nice and hot. The sandy beach was small and quiet with no waves. We snorkeled right off the beach in front of the resort (along the rocks on the left side). Iguanas roam the pool and beach area looking for handouts (we did not feed them). They did not bother us, but they did leave “deposits” around the pool which we had to watch out for. The pool bar was open only once or twice during our 10-day stay. The activity shack on the beach rents out all kinds of water toys by the hour (or by the week...$65 I think). The attendant let us use 3 snorkle life vests for no charge. We booked two Breakaway/New Horizons excursions through her, and received discounted prices. Restaurants: The Caribbean Fish Market offered a diverse menu, with appetizers, soups and salads around $12, and entrees from $25-50. We enjoyed the sea bass with a seafood risotto, and the snapper with crab meat. The crab bisque, served in a bread bowl, was excellent. Another traveler recommended the pumpkin ravioli. Sangria’s offered typical pub-style food and pizzas. Both Sangria’s and the bar in the CFM had TVs and played the sports channels. Both restaurants are open-air, and the breeze off the water made for a very comfortable evening. We tried the on site video poker/keno machines and won a little money! Don't hesitate to rent this unit from Bruce and Sue. We loved it!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We loved our stay at East Eden. The condo was beautiful, well kept, clean and we loved the stash of toys and snorkeling equipment. Our group consisted of a toddler, myself and my husband and my parents. The beach is perfect for small children, there are no waves and the water is crystal clear. Another plus is that the drapes darkened the rooms nicely for daytime naps. Bruce and Sue were wonderful and we would love to stay again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The property was truly perfect for our vacation in St. Thomas. We booked the two bedroom/3 bath unit. It surpassed our expectations. It was 'HUGE". The kitchen was equipped with up to date appliances and the furnishings in the living room were well done and comfortable. What puts this place over the top are the mattresses. We have never stayed anywhere (other than home) where we got the best night's sleep: Our boys had two queen temperpedic beds in their room, and we had a magnificent king in ours. The property is located at the Elysian where there are wonderful amenities: Beautiful salt water pool, two of the best restaurants on the island (check it out), beach with great snorkeling, and lovely people working the property. I'm sure if anyone decides to stay here they will be more than pleased. We will definitely be coming back here. The owners truly love and take care of their property and make the whole process easy and enjoyable.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

We were two couples that just enjoyed a way-too-short stay of 4 nights in the 2 bedroom condo. It is exactly as described here. Everything worked as advertised, from the TVs, air conditioning, snorkel gear, washer/dryer to the coffee maker. We enjoyed having the third bathroom when getting ready in the morning or evening. The location of the condo is truly ideal! About 10 steps from the car to the door on the same level, although the condo is actually second or third level when facing the beach due to the hill it sits on, giving you a much better view! It's a quick walk around the building to the pool and beach. There were plenty of chairs at both and the office is a 3 minute walk to go get beach towels. The Elysian is a very nice resort. We ate at both restaurants there and never had anything even close to a bad meal. Even the chicken nachos were great! We saved the Caribbean Fish Market for the last night and the fresh fish dinners were incredible. We got the "Pirate Pass" for beach equipment from the Elysian's shack. It was like $65/pp for 5 days of unlimited use of pretty much everything non-motorized. Including S.U.P.s and the Sunfish sailboats. In hindsight, this is really only useful is you are going to actually stay multiple days AT the Elysian's beach. Which we did not. We took a daysail to Jost Van Dyke and St. John on the 60' monohull "Treazzure" on a friend's recommendation and it was just the 4 of us on the boat, open bar, breakfast, and after picking us up in Red Hook in the morning, he dropped us in Cruz Bay in the evening, so we could have dinner over there and explore a bit, then ferry back to Red Hook. This was helpful with our condensed schedule. Capt Joe and 1st Mate Kelli were great! The price was less than other boats that would have had multiple groups on it. Driving on the left was definitely different, but we got used to it...pretty much. Don't plan on walking except in town areas. While Red Hook isn't that far, there is NO WAY to safely walk there. In Red Hook, we ate at Island Time Pub and had incredible pizza(seriously good!) and $10 buckets of Miller Lite. Duffy's has a good happy hour and fun drinks. Fish Tails was ok, but we probably wouldn't return. We had an awesome time and can't wait to head back! Bruce and Sue's condo is awesome and they really take care of the little things(channel list, various instructions, local info, luggage racks, etc, etc...) that make being on vacation EASY! Thanks a million! B&P, M&ARecommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We live in southeast Pennsylvania. We have always enjoyed the beach. The opportunity to own a place on the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean, that is available 365 days a year, beat the alternative of a place at the New Jersey shore! We bought the place in early 2009 and immediately completely re-did the kitchen and baths, painted everything and replaced all the furniture. We wanted it to be a place we were proud of and one which our guests would enjoy and want to return to.
Why the Owner Chose Cowpet Bay:
A colleague owns a unit at the resort and we vacationed at his place three times between March 2007 and November 2008. Each time we visited we immediately felt the tensions of work etc. leave us and we easily slipped into the 'island mode mon!' We love the peaceful uncrowded beach where we can sit for hours reading a book and sipping pina coladas. The on-site restaurants are outstanding and the proximity to Red Hook with its shops and restaurants is a real plus. The island has a lot to offer whether you want an active or a relaxing vacation. We loved it so much we decided to buy our own place. My colleague lost one of his best repeat guests!
