Accommodations: Condo, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)

Our Huge, Double Corner, Customized Residence, called "Salsa and Jazz Corner," is the only Alegranza Resort residence that combines two condos into one expansive home suitable for large family gatherings and groups of friends. Developed by singer Enrique Iglesias and international professionals with very high standards, Alegranza combines exceptional quality, location, and service. On a hilltop, the resort is centrally located so you can walk to town (great restaurants, the town square, shopping, and a thriving art district), the wide white sandy beach, the estuary (nature at its best), the starting place for ATV tours, the grocery store, and much more -- all you need to enjoy " the quiet Cabo," a historic mission town known for its charm. This residence combines happy Mexican colors with cool and comfortable American conveniences to create a fun family home away from home, much better than a bland rental, older construction, or expensive hotel rooms.
Spacious 4050 sq. ft. with Ocean Views from All Rooms - Rare Reserved Underground Parking - High End Everything - The only 4 BR at Alegranza - Rare Corner Layout offers picture windows, wonderful breezes, and corner doors that slide away for maximum indoor-outdoor living! Flexible Bedroom set-up. Premium construction upgrades and special furnishings added to a premium location!
(Or we'll rent either half of this property--Salsa, which sleeps 2 to 8, 2,010 sq. ft., 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths; or Jazz Corner, which sleeps 2 to 6, 2,040 sq. ft. corner 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths -- see VRBO #232035 and #292185.)
The resort's 93 condos all face the sea, three to a floor in six buildings, curved so every residence enjoys privacy and easy access to beautiful amenities. The connection between our two condos is via a heavy, double, alderwood door. It opens and disappears into a pocket when the two condos are combined, so you can pass from one area to the next through your own private terrace. Beautiful set-up for multiple generations, families with teens or young adults, or large groups.
Our location within Alegranza is rare and highly desirable, on the corner facing the wildlife estuary as well as the Sea of Cortez, high enough to really take in the spectacular views. It gets morning sun, keeping it cooler in the afternoons, and it's away from cobblestone street noise. Only the corner units have our kitchen layout and a dining area with a huge picture window. Savor the sunrise with an early morning latte, and take in the sunset from a beautifully furnished marble terrace that's over 73' long and cooled by ocean breezes. Each square dining table seats 6 to 8, and there is terrace dining for a crowd as well.
We spiced up the interior, added jacuzzi tubs, safes, GE Monogram appliances, and decorated with colorful art emphasizing the pleasures of music and dance. We jazzed up every room with custom furnishings, like handpainted armoires and sideboards, comfortable fuschia ultrasuede sofas, Talavera pottery, and even quilts made by the owner. Wall colors, accessories, linens, CDs, DVDs, games and beach equipment--everything was uniquely selected to make this residence a special vacation home for our family. And YOU can reap the rewards of this attention to detail!

Why the Owner Chose Alegranza
After years of trips to other parts of Mexico, we were delighted to find San José had everything offered by other Mexican resort areas, and we prefer its climate. We feel safe, enchanted, and love the convenience of Los Cabos Int'l Airport. We've stayed in Cabo San Lucas, but we prefer San José del Cabo because of its charm and historic Spanish Colonial character, peaceful but by no means dull!
San José restaurants are as good or better than Cabo San Lucas', the Art District in San José is as good or better than Todos Santos', and you can still enjoy the same activities. Costco, Home Depot, Walmart and the marina in CSL are easy to visit, but we are happy to be away from Cabo San Lucas's mall, the competing loudspeakers on the beach, in the marina, and echoing off cruise ships and tourist boats every afternoon and evening. San José is a vibrant, authentic Mexican town with upscale offerings for visitors, and it's very easy to get around.
We considered the direct beachfront developments but preferred the new Alegranza Resort by far. Our private and spacious hilltop home has an unencumbered panoramic view of ocean, estuary, town and mountains, from sunrise to sunset. No one looks into our condos or our terrace, and we don't look into theirs.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We enjoy a feeling of community created by Alegranza's charming staff, other international owners and guests. Information, generous help and friendly greetings surround us. We are right in the heart of San José and we enjoy walking to get our morning lattes and huevos rancheros after we've swum laps or worked out in the gym. The amenities and luxury finishes meet our high standards, and the amount of interior space means we vacation in a home, not a plain hotel room or cramped condo. Grounds are pretty and the location convenient to everything. Each day we venture out to a different activity. Sometimes we avoid sun exposure and open all the sliders and enjoy the views and breezes from indoors, or outdoors on the huge, covered, marble-floored terrace. Chris can play tennis and Toby can swim his laps every morning; these qualities are hard to find all together at other resorts!
Coffee shop good for lattes, huevos rancheros & casual lunches. Pizzeria/Italian cafe. Habaneros has great patio dining and fresh fish with a creative presentation. After Eight is an upscale restaurant, open late.
Between the Grand Mayan & El Presidente Hotels, this wide, sandy beach with palapas connects to the long beach that goes all the way along the wildlife sanctuary/estuary to Puerto Los Cabos.
Beautiful San Jose Mission church overlooks a large gathering area, bordered by small shops, galleries, restaurants in the "Centro Historico."
Lots of fine art galleries and local artisan shops. Thursday Night Art Walks in the high season are really fun. Many of the artists are in the galleries so you can meet them and ask them about their w
Botanical cactus garden -- a nice place to walk through. It's amazing how many kinds of cactus there are, beautifully displayed.
A 9-hole, par 3 golf course which Alegranza overlooks, this course can be played at a discount if you arrange it through Alegranza's Concierge. Rental clubs are available. It's convenient and low-pric
Supermarket so huge it's like a Target, a Best Buy, and a supermarket all in one. There's also a Telcel store in this complex, where prepaid phones, etc. are sold.
Owner's Map of Alegranza
With two daughters and a grandson, we wanted our own special beach property to escape to with our extended family. We swim, sail, kayak, and snorkel. We prepare some large family meals and also walk to casual and elegant dining in town. We haunt the local art galleries and appreciate the town's architecture and friendliness. We enjoyed furnishing this property as if we'd live in it ourselves much of the year . . . including selecting the most comfortable mattresses! Chris created special quilts for the property; she also hosts groups of women here for quilt getaways and retreats.

I simply could not have been happier with my stay in Cabo! As a family we rented both Salsa and Jazz Corner, and it was one of the best vacations I've ever had! I didn't know what to expect as this was my first vacation rental, but the property is much larger and even brighter in person. The photos don't do it justice. It feels like a home (and a very large one at that), which is such a nice contrast to a sterile hotel. There is so much space to spread out. You can be together when you want and then go off and take a quiet minute to yourself. The kitchens are stellar. We had so much fun cooking. They are thoroughly equipped with everything you could need. The bathrooms and bubble jet tubs make you feel like you are in a resort somewhere. And there are three pools and hot tubs on the grounds, along with a gym and a restaurant. I think this is an extremely versatile property. For large families you could rent both condos, for honeymoons you could just rent one, for a girls weekend you could do both and have a big group of girls down. And Cabo has everything from adventure sports to laid back shopping and dining. Whatever you are looking for, you will have a fabulous time here. Everything about the location was convenient too. It's such a quick drive from the airport and relatively easy to find. The property is impeccable. The staff on site are incredibly friendly and helpful. I felt so welcome. The best part is the deck and the view! We spent every single morning watching the sunrise with coffee. I could live in a place like this very easily. Simply put, I would go back in a heartbeat. Chris and Toby have created a really magical vacation home. They are the most thoughtful owners. And Chris was so helpful during the rental procedure! You couldn't ask for nicer people to rent from.

Our two families got together to celebrate three birthdays! I don't believe my father remembered much of his 50th, once José Cuervo came to the party (ha ha ha)! However, Billy's 29th and Riley's 1st birthdays were remembered with lots of fun. We hardly needed to decorate for the parties as the condos were so vibrant with colour and fun on their own. Walking in to see the pink in the Jazz entry and orange in Salsa made you feel completely relaxed but also ready to party. Not only did we enjoy our time in the condos but spent many wonderful relaxing nights on the patios watching the sun go down, and days soaking up the rays by the beautifully landscaped poolside. Mexico is a wonderful place to celebrate and relax with family, but having stayed in these condos, it felt like home. Thank you for sharing your condos for an amazing week with family! Words can't express how wonderful & beautiful this property is. Our [two families'] vacation went beyond our expectations. Thanks to Chris for allowing us to bring our group together in Jazz & Salsa. The space was perfect. We had lovely dinners and family time on the terrace enjoying the view, many walks to the beach and into the town square. The Alegria Restaurant [in Alegranza] was fantastic. We also enjoyed Habaneros as they were very accommodating to food allergies. We feel very rested and we all agree it was one of our most relaxing vacations. We are all very sad to leave and hope to return again soon. My husband & I spent 18 days in the San Jose del Cabo area, splitting up our vacation with 9 days in hotel, and the next 9 days in Chris & Toby's very comfortable and well equiped Jazz Corner. We had all the comforts of a home away from home, incredible views, great decor, in a very pleasant development! Chris included such a great guide of local shopping, restaurants, maps, activities..better than any hotel concierge! The floorplan of Jazz Corner was great with basically 2 full bedrooms and full ensuites, so that this unit could so comfortably and privately accommodate eg. 2 couples or great for "the girls" getaway..of course we were only 2, but good to know for a future visit, or for anyone reading this review. Another plus was that Los Cabos weather was just incredible! All in all, a great condo, and great holiday! (Quoted from previous VRBO Jazz Corner review.)

Wonderful condo in a beautiful location. Chris' is the best homeowner rental vacation. She has thought of everything and this condo is truly the best equipped . . . but could use a salad spinner :-) Enjoyed the deck every day and had all our meals outside. Our dining favorite San José restaurant was La Panga Antiqua. We also enjoyed Cafe Santa Fe in Todos Santos and a great Mexican restaurant "Antojo" on the main street in Los Barrilles. Merry Christmas, Chris & Toby. Thank you, Cindy & Mike. (Comments quoted from our onsite guest book -- and we've since added a new salad spinner!)

Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your beautiful condos. It was wonderful having the adjoining places. We had such fun swimming in the pools during the days, then sitting out enjoying the amazing views from the deck at night. The proximity to town is fabulous! We enjoyed the walk to town with the kids. We found a second home at the many surf beaches close by. We drove up to "Nine Palms" on the East Cape. Amazing how quickly you can be in the middle of nowhere with such beauty surrounding you. We hope to return very soon. Our Second Time Staying at Salsa -- It is a great place and a great location (the hill is great for your heart). We walked every day we were here, sometimes up and down the hill twice. Walking is a great way to get to some of the great restaurants @ the bottom of the hill. Local Eight has great food and good music. Habaneros is another good one for Happy Hour and food. Your property manager at Cabo Elite "Alonso" was an excellent contact. He lined us up with the best fishing trip ever. We went out of Palmilla with Javier. Our time here has been fantastic and we plan to return. We will also tell our friends & family. Thanks again, Chris & Toby. (Quoted from our guestbook at the property.)

Our two month stay at Jazz was totally amazing. It was more than we ever could have imagined. It is very obvious that Chris and Toby decorated this beautiful condo as their own home. The kitchen has top notch dishes, knives and pots and pans. The beds are so comfortable and all of the decorating is so bright and beautiful. We watched the sunrise each morning from our comfy king size bed and watched the sunsets from the deck overlooking the sea and city. The management team was there to assist us in every way. We would highly recommend Jazz and can hardly wait to come back. Thanks Chris and Toby for sharing your beautiful home. Hi Chris, Since I have been back, several people have expressed interest in where I stayed in Cabo and I will share the appropriate website. Also, now that I have been there, I think the condos are even more fabulous than they show up in the photos! The master bedroom with the view from the soaker tub, the kitchen, etc. I know it is really hard to photograph, but I just thought I would give that feedback, since I think they are fabuloso!!!!!!!!! Maybe a shot from the balcony looking inward into both units would show the size and colors. Anyway, just a positive feedback.

This was a relaxing and beautiful place to spend the week. I have had a great time enjoying the friendly people and culture here. You have spent a great deal of time (I'm sure) creating a colorful décor that is SO inviting. The whole group loved the deck and the ocean view. Thank you for the opportunity to share Rhydonia's birthday with her in this lovely spot. I loved the cooking class, gallery walk and beautiful, WARM ocean water. - Janis from Anaheim Such a beautiful place -- IN a beautiful place. So easy to forget it's cold at home, that it isn't really just a long summer. My favorite activities were lunch by the sea, surfing, cooking classes, and relaxing on a chaise longue. This is a place that really feels like home. - Kirsten from S.F. Bay Area What a vibrant lovely home! The views are spectacular, the colors are fantastic.
