  We came here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we're looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway. This was it! We loved the inviting front porch and quaint, cozy decor. I (being a typical woman) especially appreciated some of the special touches/details like the crown molding/architectural trim, glass door knob on the master bedroom door, the antique dresser/sink in the master bath, the wainscoting, ceilings, beautiful kitchen cabinetry. We both absolutely loved the high thread count sheets! We will be purchasing some of our own soon (we didn't realize what we had been missing all these years). We were so looking forward to visiting with the "neighborhood" kitty, but he/she didn't make an appearance until checkout this morning! What a cutie! :) Oh, and we used the full kitchen and grill to make steak and shrimp scampi - yum!

  Cute cottage that was wonderfully decorated! We felt so at home. The coffee, robes, hot tub, etc. were great amenities. We will definitely be back to stay.

  Location is great - close to everything yet off the main road so you have off street parking in the driveway of the house. Very comfortable house for one couple. Quiet neighborhood, comfortable bed, kitchen with full size refrig, stove, breakfast table. Very enjoyable stay!

  For the most part we loved our stay at Terah's Garden. Having the multiple fireplaces helped add a romantic ambiance. The layout allowed for plenty of flexibility in whatever we were wanting to do. It became more than just a place to stay but allowed us to want to spend part of our stay just here instead of out and about.

  This was a great first experience; we had never stayed at a B&B before, but we definitely will come back! We usually choose vacations that keep us constantly on the go, but this time my wife and I were in desperate need of relaxation. That's exactly what we received at Terah's Garden. So comfortable, like a second home, only with a hot tub! Absolute Charm thought of everything, what a home run! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  I recently stayed at this property and I would recommend that the owner seriously consider a new property manager. No hot water in master, A/C needed work and more...... Like the other reviewer, I would like to contact the owner myself. This property has potential, but it needs attention!

  This property is quaint looking and situated in a nice area of Fredericksburg. That's where the positive side of this review ends. The kitchen lacks everything - toaster, kettle, decent cutlery, any type of kitchen knife, salad bowl - any large bowl, no containers, pots and pans are sparse, very few drinking glasses, need I say more. The dishwasher is not attached to the counter so as you place dishes in the lower level the dishwasher starts to fall away from the kitchen cabinets and the dishes of course follow. The deficiency list was so long we didn't bother to call the manager of this property - Absolute Charm B & B. What is not shown in all the pictures or advertised - the access to the second bedroom is through the master bedroom on the first floor (there is a door from the outside to this bedroom but who at eleven at night is going to walk around a house to fumble with a lock to try to gain entry). Speaking of the second floor bedroom - there is no bathroom door - the toilet is less than 3 feet from the head of the bed! We shared this home with my son and daughter-in-law - couldn't wait to leave and this accommodation did impact negatively the first part of our trip to Texas. The Hot Tub was very small and there were no steps up so be prepared to climb in and out. We have stayed at numerous VRBO properties and this is the first bad experience.

  Owner response: I'm so sorry this guest chose not to contact us during his stay at all as he admits, but he made some great suggestions. After reading this, I went out and bought a set of mixing bowls, storage bowls, nice knife set, kettle, toaster, baking pan set, extensive kitchen utensil set, new cutlery set and more. Honestly very few of our guests ever cook anything at all. We had a nice pot and an set, full set of plates, cups, knives, etc., but I guess some guests would like more extensive cookware, so you got it! Now the hot tub is not small in any way. It's a new Viking hot tub that is made to hold 4-5 people and holds over 250 gallons of water. The upstairs bedroom can be accessed through either the downstairs bedroom or via a private exterior staircase. I didn't realize this was a potential problem but just in case, I have updated my description to give details on the access. If you check our calendar you will see that the cottage is booked 20-25 nights a month and has hundreds, actually probably thousands, of guests who love the cottage. They just don't think to come write reviews on here. Thanks for checking us out thoroughly and fairly!

  My stay was perfect.. downstairs great for extended stay or a weekend getaway. The ladies of Absolute Charm were very accommodating with my reservation and supplied us with personal information to make our stay relaxed and effortless. Terah's Garden is a really a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend to a friend or family.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  We have stayed in over 30 B&B's over the last 10 years in Fredericksburg and this one we would not recommend. It has great potential however there is lack of attention to detail. The front porch with fire place is really nice, however the "private" hot tub isn't so private and it was not clean, the water was turning green and there was a cluster of slime floating in it. The interior was nicely decorated however it was not clean, it needs a really good cleaning. The kitchen and batch need attention. The shower door doesn't close properly and a separate plug should be added for the hot water heater to allow for personal care products to be plugged in by the mirror. The kitchen needs to be wiped down from top to bottom as well. There was what we feel is a safety hazard as all the doors locked by double key deadbolts. This required you to have a key to unlock all exterior doors from the inside to get out. We feel the price does not match the quality of this bed and breakfast.

  Owner response: These guests called us after arriving and said that the hot tub was not heating properly. I went over as soon as I was called and saw that the settings had been adjusted and the tub had been put into economy mode. Don't know who changed the mode, but in any event I fixed it quickly and as I left it was heating up. The guests were leaving for dinner and I left them with everyone laughing and saying thanks. I asked them to please call if they needed anything else. Never heard another word from them, which is a shame because as we had shown already, we are happy to go over any time day or night and take care of any problems big or small. Our housekeeping staff is very conscientious and would have done anything to please these guests. I had them do a deep clean after these guests posted the review. Also hired a new hot tub service to be sure the hot tub is optimally maintained at all times Just wish we could have done something while they were there.
