There are boundless opportunities for outdoor activities in this area including four state parks and two wilderness areas for viewing amazing waterfalls, and wildlife while hiking. There are always festivals, and blue grass concerts going on-as well as being close to the Cumberland Playhouse. Two outstanding golf courses are close at hand.
Our pavilion provides a place to 'hang out' in front of a roaring outdoor fireplace, overlooking the pond.
Hiking and Horseback Riding Lessons are available on site. We also have horse facilities for people traveling with horses. A Volleyball Court and Horseshoes are also available for your enjoyment.

Spent two nights at wonderful Firefly Acres. A great retreat for all activity levels. Lots of things to do in the area if you want to be active. If you want to sit and relax, the views from your deck are awesome. Very clean. Pete and Bambi are gracious, friendly and make you feel welcome. We ordered food to be ready after a long day of travel. It was awesome. Such a treat to have a nice meal ready to pop in the oven! I was able to hike some of the trails and found a treasure around every corner. Nature greeted us with views of fireflies, deer, and humming birds. I also had the privilege of learning a little about natural horsemanship from Pete. You can also meet your neighbors if you choose to spend a little time at the pavilion. I hope to return where I can really take advantage of visiting more hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. I know I will have a retreat waiting for me after a busy day! Kitty was also a very gracious host to our two dogs. It's comforting to know there is a place to relax, feel safe, and enjoy the company of people, dogs, and embrace the majesty of the horses in the pasture outside. Nothing better!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

What a treat!!! My Mother and I stayed in the DogHouse for 2 nights in November on part of our road trip. I chose Firefly for it's horse and ranch qaulities and it's proximity to all the great Tennessee State Parks nearby. We were more than pleasantly surprised by our hosts and accomodations. Being horse people, and accustomed to camping, and our little dog in towe with us, cabins are always an iffy thing to book. This was the cleanest place we stayed on our 18 day trip!!! I'm a clean freak and a bit germaphobic and OCD, have to be since I have a compromised immune system. My dog also has allergies galore so she has high standards as well. I could not fine one thing in the Doghouse cabin to complain about. Everything was spotless. Another surprise.....the beds, bamboo pillow top.....most comfortable beds on our entire trip and such a relief from the night before of sleeping on a hard as steel matress. We literally had trouble getting up to go about our adventures and almost decided to chuck our planned sight seeing and just stay in bed. Wished I would have had a camera by the bed the first morning as a Cardinal awoke us by pecking at our back door to the porch. Quite a comical way to wake up, we don't have cardinals here in NM and I thought for sure it was a woodpecker. The road up to the cabins in the dark is a bit intimidating. Once you see it in daylight it's breathtaking. The cabins sit on a ridge overlooking the property where our hosts are living the horse person's dream of living in the top portion of their bright red barn. The horses on premisis are gorgeous, as is the frisbee carrying Heeler who greeted us the second morning (name escapes me). Everything was perfect, even the water pressure was surprisingly wonderful. Which is where my only minor complaint comes in, the pressure of water is so good in the shower that the shower head is a bit brutal on sensitive skin.....LOL. The only problem......I didn't book an entire week! I missed out on days to chat horses and cooking with our hosts. We will be back!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We wanted a quick getaway from the city with our dog, and chose to stay in Firefly Acres' comfortable, dog-friendly "Doghouse" cabin. It turned out to be one of the best weekends we've had since moving to TN. It was close to a number of state parks, so we were able to visit Fall Creek and Burgess Falls while we were there. The accommodations were exactly what we were looking for- the sereneness and coziness of a cabin, with the cleanliness and amenities that are so nice to have when you're paying to stay away from home. We felt welcomed by Bambi, Pete, and their pup, Miss Kitty and can't wait to set up our next visit. We didn't partake in Bambi's home-cooked meals this time around, but definitely will when we visit again as we heard from other guests that they are great!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the "bunkhouse" as it was much nicer than the pictures suggested. This was the coziest, most relaxing cabin I have ever stayed in. Everything from Bambi's delicious homemade chicken pot pie to the detailed decor made us feel at home here. It was about 20 minutes from Fall Creek Falls, Burgess Falls, and Rock Island so it was easy to see multiple parks in a weekend trip. We loved waking up on the ridge and overlooking the horses playing everyday with the mountains as the backdrop. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks Bambi and Pete!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

A friend and I had the pleasure of staying in Pete and Bambi's 2 BR, 2 bath cabin, The Game Room, for a week in October 2010. The cabin was beautifully decorated and every amenity that one could need was available. Pete and Bambi were so helpful and always available to answer questions and give advice and directions regarding activities and sightseeing in the area. The atmosphere at Firefly Acres was one of total relaxation. The cabin was very clean as was the entire property. Possibly the best feature was Mr. Bean, their pet dogggie who was obviously the welcoming committee,CEO, and boss of the entire operation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

I stayed here with a few friends and had a wonderful time. Everything was easy and the cabins were fully furnished down to the coffee! The accomodations were wonderful, the bed delightful, and the view was picturesque! I sat on the back porch with my morning coffee in a rocking chair watching the horses and taking in the beautiful rolling hills! Little details to design and friendly folks make this a stay to remember! I will be back very soon!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We stayed at the cabin for a month this summer. Pete + Bambi were excellent caretakers and were always available and super helpful. We loved the horses and the scenery and loved getting out of town for a bit. This was the place to do it--close to Fall Creek Falls and perfect for a weekend trip to Nashville. our cabin overlooked the fields and the hills and we wanted to move in! Everything was clean and comfy and it really was a home away from home. We miss it already! -Lydia+EliRecommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My husband and I spent 5 days at Firefly Acres and can't wait to go back. We wanted a centrally-located cabin near the great hiking at Virgin Falls, Fall Creek Falls State Park, White County, etc. What beautiful views from the cabin's front porch! You look out over the pasture with horses grazing, but they're not "in your face" unless you want to hang out at the barn with Pete (which we recommend!) Bambi and Pete are phenomenal hosts and pointed us in the direction of some great hiking and adventures (like a local Blue Grass festival!). The cabin we stayed in, the Toolshed, was so nicely decorated with wood/tile floors and a well-equipped kitchen and gas grill. Satellite HDTV was nice to check in with the outside world. We've done a ton of VRBO.com renting, and this property ranks among the best. What a gem, and only 2 hours from Nashville! We also took our dog, who had a blast running around. I can almost see my rocking chair view now... We can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
