Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2009
Back in 2004, my fiance and I were set to purchase a cute little beach condo upon returning from our honeymoon after our Gulf Shores beach wedding planned for September 18th. Unfortunately, if you know anything about the recent history of Gulf Shores, Hurricane Ivan made landfall on the 16th. The wedding went on, sans the beach, but the condo dream was put on hold. Four and a half years later in early 2009 we bought our little beach condo - Sunrise Village 114. We love our condo and enjoy sharing it with guests. It is a cozy 2 bedroom unit in a low density complex located on laid back West Beach. It has just the right combination of location (its on the beach!) without a lot of frills to drive up the price. We love the beach and hope to make it our home permanently one day. It is our dream come true and we hope you enjoy it too! --Jennifer Watson
Why the Owner Chose Sunrise Village
We specifically set out to purchase a condo like this one for several reasons. First, Gulf Shores! Since my husband Andrew and I are both native Alabamians this is where we have vacationed for all our lives. Our friends and family visit and own places here. It feels like an extension of home to us...just a little more sandy and relaxing. Second, West Beach! Once you go about a mile past the 'T' traffic light West Beach takes on a very laid back, intimate vibe. There aren't too many high rises and you are still near everything in Gulf Shores. Third, Sunrise Village! We loved the complex when we first saw it. The interior of the unit has been redone and is in great shape. With only 36 units, you always have a prime spot on the beach, even in the middle of Summer. You also don't have to fight hordes of people to use the pool. The complex is located right across the street from a large convenience store, ice cream shoppe, seafood company, and restaurant/bar - what more could you need?
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
When we come to stay at our condo we enjoy the typical beach scene. We love to sit for hours on our little stretch of sand with a good book or listening to music. We also enjoy eating more than our share at the local restaurants and will be happy to let you know our personal favorites. Our condo is great too because we can pick up some fresh seafood and cook a fabulous meal in the kitchen to save money. On days when the weather isn't cooperating I enjoy hitting the outlet mall up in Foley or catching a movie at one of the new theaters in the area.

Loved the Condo. My husband & I were very comfortable, especially with the beds. Was surprised to find the kitchen well supplied and whle unit clean. Many wonderful restaurants are in the area & one just across the street - West Beach Grille. We ate a number of meals there as well as Mikee's & Pink Pony. The best thing about Sunrise Village is the location right at the beach. Nice view from the balcony. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great home away from home.

This was our first trip to Gulf Shores and it was fabulous! The weather couldn't be any better and the beach was perfect. We are a family of 2 adults and 1 child and this unit was a good size for us. The overall feeling is pretty small, but still okay for the 3 of us. There is no washer and dryer in this unit which turned out to be a bit of a problem, considering we had wet clothes and towels and nowhere to even hang them. The unit has plenty of cooking utensils but there were no other supplies so keep that in mind when you pack. It was really convenient having the store just right across the street to grab odds and ends throughout the week. Overall I would recommend this to small families or couples looking for a great vacation spot for a good price.

My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights at Thanksgiving. This is a cute and cozy little place. I have family in Gulf Shores and they were right around the corner making this a great location for us. West beach is nice and quiet especially this time of year. The beds were comfortable, and we loved having a rocker at the place since we had our infant son with us. The beach is just a short walk away, which is awesome! We had a great stay!

I loved staying in this condo. It was clean and you could tell that it had just been remodeled. The beds were comfortable. The location was right at the beach and right across the street was a wonderful ice cream shop, resturaunt (good for lunch), and a little grocery store. It also had a seafood shop if you like to cook. Everything is in one location so you don't have to drive anywhere. I loved that there weren't a lot of huge complexes around so the beach was rather private. It seemed very safe, lots of families around. I would definately stay here again.
