Gorgeous Apartment in Rue Charlot in Heart of the Marais
Year Purchased: 2008
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 3
Following 10 years of renting various apartments in both St-Germain-des-Pres in the 6th and the Marais, we rented an apartment on rue Charlot. We fell in love with the area and began our search to find an apartment in rue Charlot (or very close-by). This process took over one year but when we finally saw 27 rue Charlot, we knew it was the apartment for us and have loved our time spent living here and renovating the apartment.

Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 3
My parents first brought myself and my brother and two sisters to live in France in 1996, where we went to a local French school in St-Remy-de-Provence in the South of France. My parents have always had a passion for France and their dream to own an apartment in Paris was realised in 2008. We have spent several months with our Australian family in our apartment and absolutely love the place and location. I am 27 and have a 29 year old sister and a twin brother and sister who are 26- we all love rue Charlot. It is a charming street, in the middle of the Marais, with plenty of bars, restaurants, cafe, shops and tourist destinations. Rue de Bretagne is excellent for local groceries and fresh produce, as is the Marche des Enfants Rouge, which is just a few metres up the road.
At the beginning of 2009, my parents undertook a six month long project to fully renovate the apartment and add a second luxury bathroom. The newly renovated apartment is absolutely fabulous and we're looking forward to having you stay.
My parents adore Paris and rent out their apartment when they are not using it themselves.

This charming, light-filled apartment made our trip. Tasteful decor, state-of-art bathroom/kitchen fixtures, great mattresses, well-stocked kitchen, books, CDs, DVDs, plus a thorough info packet on everything you need to know. And that's just inside. One of Paris's oldest produce markets just down the street along with cafes and bars, close to metro and buses in heart of the Marais. Finally, it was a pleasure arranging our stay with the friendly owners via email. Merci!

We so enjoyed this charming apt. It was light-filled, comfortable and close to fresh-food markets, the metro and the main tourist spots. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Also a nice collection of books on Paris and France. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay in Paris. The apartment was central to everything, and the baby bed was exactly what we needed. The location was perfect for us, with most things in walking distance. Lots of great cafes, restaurants, grocery stores etc We were very comfortable, and the beds were great. My husband and I slept in the front room, which heard a little noise from the side-street, from people coming home from the bars, but it didn't bother us at all. Our nanny and the baby slept like logs, as their rooms were very quiet. We heard no noise from the neighbours etc. We had everything we needed, and Barbara had told us to contact her if we needed anything else. Andy's co-worker picked us up from the airport, and another one of them dropped us back on the Monday. Fantastic place to stay! Thank you.

Your charming and comfortable apartment was the perfect place to relax after sightseeing in Paris. It is located in a lovely, safe neighborhood within steps of fascinating shops, fresh food markets and the Metro. We experienced Paris living as if we were Parisians! The owners thoughtfully offer all the comforts of home - clean, cozy beds; a well stocked kitchen; books, DVD's, internet and phone; and many more amenities than we expected. The family memories made here will last a lifetime and we are so grateful for all the quality time together. Thank you for the warm home away from ours.
