The Unique Benefits at this Luxurious Log Home/Cabin
The Nantahala Outdoor Center does great rafting outside of Clayton, GA about 40 minutes from us. It is called The Chattooga Wild & Scenic River which begins at the base of Whitesides Mountain in North Carolina and flows in a southwesterly direction to form the border between South Carolina and Georgia. It is one of the wildest and most beautiful whitewater rivers in the country, the Chattooga was the first river in the Southeast to be designated "Wild & Scenic" by Congress and was used as a location for the movie Deliverance. The Sumter and Chattahoochee National Forests will surround you while on this wilderness adventure river.
It is a free flowing river, water levels on the Chattooga vary with the amount of rainfall each season. The highest water levels and most exciting trips are usually in the Spring and early Summer. By late Summer and Fall the water level is usually lower and trips are more relaxed and slower paced. It has a level 4 and 5.
Not only is this a beautiful drive in on Forest Service Road 69, but once you arrive a short hike takes you to Wyah Bald Lookout Tower with views of many mountain ranges and two valleys from the tower

Comment received via email: Carlana, Wow....what an incredible gift you gave us by sharing your beautiful home for the weekend. Your friends greeted us shortly after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. This was only our 2nd annual fall family getaway and your home was perfect. We enjoyed sitting around the fireplace and watching a little football, we built a campfire one night, went shopping and the boys even got a round of golf in on Sunday. I hope we'll have the opportunity to visit again sometime. Thank you!

Comment received via email: We had a fabulous time! Just what we needed! We were there with another family, and a third who were staying elsewhere joined us for most of Sunday, so the house was thoroughly enjoyed. We were all very comfy and tried to treat things well. Hiking in the neighborhood was great -- we discovered the waterfall, and made our way around parts of the mountain, both on and off the roads. We ate at Cafe Rel once, shopped, and did some gem mining yesterday. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We now have it at the top of our list of great weekend places to get away to! Blessings, Betsy
