Just as private as they say it is, the lanai is surrounded by trees and is great. I've stayed in another unit on the first floor and both have their advantages. This unit of the second floor was perfect for opening the windows and letting the breeze cool the condo. We didn't have to use the a/c at all during our 10 day stay. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I loved that were were enough hangers to hang all my clothes on in the closet. The updated shower is very nice, and we were provided with more than enough towels for our stay. The washer and dryer were a huge help as well for having our clothes and personal beach towels clean for the rest of our trip in Napili. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and storing leftovers. I had to call to get a few window cranks replaced and they were fixed within hours! All the books on Maui and it's creatures were great to have, we learned quite a bit even though I've been coming here for 25+ years! The only "negative" thing I can say has absolutely nothing to do with the condo itself, and I think we were just unlucky. I didn't have this experience last time we stayed at this complex or any other time I have been to Maui so I strongly suggest that this was a one of, but I feel it needs to be mentioned so if it is a trend, the owners have a record of it. There were 2 families that let their children run and scream outside all around the building inbetween 3-5pm every day. They were so loud that I couldn't nap with all the windows and doors closed and my earplugs in. I don't blame the kids, but I blame the parents for not realizing their environment. Again I am very sure that this was a one-of situation and that everyone has the possibility of being near families like this no matter where they stay. I would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you to our recent guests for a great review. We try to provide everything most people need for a beach vacation. As for children making noise in the afternoon, we have never had this experience ourselves since most families are at the beach or the pool in the afternoon. We are sorry this happened because we all value our peace and privacy but hope it was a one-time thing.

Excellent location, close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. This unit is not close to S. Kihei Road so there was no traffic noise. Decorated in nice Hawaiian decor and beautiful artwork. Very clean and the owners are very helpful with any questions. Everything you need is in the unit, truly was home away from home. If you have small children this is a great unit, the portable playpen made for an excellent 'crib' and our son loved the toys. Highly recommend this condo. The condo is exactly what the listing describes and the pictures accurately reflect the appearance and amenities.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We love reviews like this because they reflect exactly what we try to provide - a home-like atmosphere in a beautiful location at a very reasonable price. A big thank-you to our guests!

We enjoyed our first tropical Christmas away from home very much. This complex is the perfect location-lots of beaches within walking distance as well as several restaurants and corner stores nearby. It is nice to have the pool option, and the complex as a whole was quiet and the residents/visitors friendly. We found this actual unit to be modest, but jam-packed with amenities that helped make it feel home-y. We appreciated the decor and effort made to incorporate what looked to be traditional Hawaiian art and furntiture throughout the home. This unit was great value for the money, but we would not classify it as luxurious (in a resort sense). That isn't the sort of trip or accommodation we were wanting though, and in the end we found the ease of having everything we need at our fingertips (everything from laundry soap, to a cheese grater, or a candle to have some wine on the deck by candlelight) to be equally lavish to us. Thanks very much- AM/RMRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

As always, it is very enjoyable to be able to visit Maui. We have had several stays as KKN over the last 12 years. KKN is a great location being across the street from Kam II and close to several locations we visit often. Can't wait until our next stay the end of June into July. Looking forward to the 4th of July fireworks while out on a cruise. Kimo's is a must!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

This is a really nice condo - it is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. It was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped. The condo has everything you need for beach, including lots of towels. The BBQ is nearby. AC is only in the living room but we didn't use it - the fan was enough. Building #7is the best situated building, in my opinion. We considered some other buildings that claimed to have oceanview, but trust me, there is no ocean view at KKN, only parking lot views with a bit of ocean across the road. The balcony at this condo has a very nice view of greenery and it feels very private. We spent all our time on the balcony :) The beach (Kamaole II) was super close (across the road) and we loved it. It wasn't crowded at all (at the end of June) and the sunset views from the beach were amazing. Thank you Carol for emailing very helpful descriptions of things to do in Maui. We only ate out nearby once, at Fred's (on taco Tuesday) and the veggie tacos were delicious. Pescado, baja fish tacos and carne asada were awesome too. Definitely recommend it! S&Q cafe (I think it's called) was really close and had great shave ice and coffee. One point though - it would have been helpful to tell us what to do with our recycling. I couldn't find a recycling bin anywhere. Anyway, we really enjoyed our stay at KKN #257 and would definitely come back - but this time would stay longer :)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks very much for the comprehensive review. The recycling containers are behind the dumpster enclosures across from building 7 and at the front of the complex.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. It was absolute paradise. The location could not have been more perfect and the condo itself is in great condition. The King bed was very comfortable and the kitchen came in handy. We very much appreciated the extra beach chairs, ice chest and other beach items located in the lanai closets. It saved us a great deal of money! The staff at KKN were also very welcoming and just great to deal with all around. Again, thank you for making our first visit to Maui a very SPECIAL experience...one we will not forget! We look forward to booking this condo again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in August of 2011. It was absolutely perfect, and we would be very happy to stay here again! I've stayed in some condos where you arrive late at night after a long flight, only to find a quarter of a roll of toilet paper and no soap. I've actually taken to bringing tp and soap with me on the plane, just in case. Well this condo had everything we needed and more, including beach supplies, and lots of very homey touches, like coasters made with snaphots of Hawaii, guidebooks, travel CDs, and more. It really felt like staying in someone's home, not a rental unit. The a/c worked well (though we only used it once), and the location across from Kamaole II was perfect! Lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance, and a great home base for exploring the entire island. The Kihei Kai Nani complex is quiet and well-maintained with a nice swimming pool. The owners, Carol and Bob, were extremely helpful and friendly. Carol always answered my emails immediately, and she really bent over backward to help accomodate our check-in schedule. She also sent us lots of great insider tips about places to visit, eat, and see on Maui. I can't recommend this unit and these owners enough! Mahalo Carol and Bob!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were looking for a Kihei Kai Nani condo that was clean, well maintained, and could support a family of four. This condo delivered exactly what we needed. The unit is a well-maintained KKN condo with one of the best-equipped kitchens that we have ever seen in Maui. As an end unit, we found it easy to cool the unit simply by allowing the Maui breezes to flow through. The air conditioning was nice in case of emergency but we generally didn't need to use it. The owners were very accommodating and the transaction was easy. They responded to our questions quickly and provided lots of information about Maui and the condo prior to our arrival. Overall, KKN is a comfortable place to stay (across from an amazing beach for families) and this unit is among the best we have enjoyed at KKN. We recommend it.Recommended for: Families with young children

We stayed one week in August 2010 at this condo and it was just perfect, the beach was just accross the street. The location was great and central ! There was a full kitchen and BBQ near the condo so we cooked all our meals. The bedroom had storage and extra linen. The bed is very comfortable and it is pretty quiet around the condo. We enjoyed the pool and had a wonderful stay. We will stay there again and we recommend it 100%. Kathy & Pierre PaulRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Aloha Carol and Bob. I just wanted to let you know that we have had a wonderful week at your condo which is equipped by everything we needed: towels, chairs and big umbrellas. Your condo is very well suited and nice location. There is a beautiful beach just across the street. I saw a giant turtle while snorkeling. Our friends from St. Petersburg, Russia, are speechless; only "Wow!!!". They have travelled a lot around Europe, but nothing like this one. We all love Maui. Once again, Carol and Bob thank you so much for sharing your island home and peace of Hawaiian paradise with us. It has been a pleasure to stay in your beautiful home. We will be back to stay at your condo next year too. Mahalo, Carol and Bob. We had a wonderful time in Maui and DID NOT want to come home! The weather was so nice every day. The condo was wonderful as well, very comfortable and clean. We liked that it was an end unit as there were nice breezes all the time; very peaceful and relaxing for sleeping. I can't say that we had any issues during our stay, which is a good thing! I must say that having stayed at the Kihei Kai Nani several times, we found that working with you and Bob was the easiest and most stress-free as you were very professional and prompt. We can't wait to return. Aloha!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed this 2nd fl end unit. There was always a breeze and lots of light which made the condo feel bright and spacious. The unit was set back in the complex so road noise was minimal, only the lovely sound of the birds to start the day. The owners provided everything you would need to make it an enjoyable holiday. The washer/dryer was a bonus as we were able pack a lot less and save on baggage fees as well .We loved the convenient location with one of the best beaches right across the street and many restaurants within walking distance. We hope t be back one day soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Anita & I spent the first 10 days of Dec. 2009 in unit 257. It was everything Carol & Bob had advertised. Modern, clean and comfortable. We took full advantage of the on-site BBQ for some home cooked meals. It was truly a home away from home. Our daughter, who was staying in a different unit in the complex said that she preferred unit 257 and would look into it on her next visit. Thanks Carol & Bob. The condo was great and liked the central location of it in Kihei, making it convenient to reach other parts of the island easily. It's well equipped and has a very comfortable home-like feel. A Safeway grocery and other convenience stores and excellent restaurants are near by, and being right across the street from some great swimming/snorkeling beaches is handy. We'll remember this place well for the next time we want to come back to Maui. Snorkeling was good and took in a number of sights like the Iao Needle, drive to Hana, Haleakala to the top, etc.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We have stayed at KKN for over 10years in many units. This unit is by far one of the best units in the nicest area of KKN. Far enough back to be quiet and windows on two sides of the bedroom help cool the rooms. We stay in Maui a month a year and plan to go rent the same unit again. Very clean, well equipped, comfortable unit with extra large patio set for dining on the lanai. Mahalo to Carol & Bob for the use of their place in paradise:)Did you find this review helpful? We spent 2 weeks here in July 2009 and couldn't have asked for more. The condo has everything you could need - it's just like being at home but you're in paradise instead! Kehei is central to most everything you would want to do or see - shopping, sun bathing, boating, snorkeling, sight-seeing. Facility staff are great and check-in and check-out were a breeze. The in-suite laundry is fantastic. The swimming pool is fabulous. Thanks to Bob and Carol for all the beach and picnic supplies in the lanai closets. All you need to supply is the food and the plans for fun! This was our first trip to Maui and we can't wait to come again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in the Kihei Kai Nani unit 257 in May 2009. It was exactly what we were looking for. Bob and Carol were easy to rent from (prompt and friendly in communication and clear in instructions on checking in etc). The unit was clean and functional. The kitchen was well equipped and the beach gear(chairs, towels, cooler etc) was handy. The addition of a washer/dryer in unit was also a plus. The location is perfect - across the street from the beach and walking distance to restaurants, delis, convenience stores, internet cafe etc. We would stay here again and recommend this unit to friends without hesitation. We stayed in this unit for almost two weeks at the beginning of April, 2009 and had a wonderful time. This was our second stay at KKN and we found the unit to be even nicer than the one we stayed in before. It is very well equipped with very comfortable beach chairs, a high quality beach umbrella (ours stayed up while everyone else's blew away!) as well as coolers, mats, beach towels, etc. I travel to cook, and the kitchen did not disappoint. Very well appointed, with a vast selection of pans, bowls and even a basic selection of spices! Make sure to go to the Sat. Swap Meet for the best (and cheapest) local produce. The BBQ outside, though 100' away is of great quality. The unit is a corner one at the back of the complex, so it is very quiet and there is a good cross-draft through the many louvered windows. It is tastefully decorated in an island style, but not so over-done that you are afraid to actually live in the space. Our daughters, 11 and 7, had a great time (slept on the pull-out sofa) and particularly enjoyed the pool. The beaches nearby are all world class - we went to a different one every morning and then returned to the Kam 2 (across the street) or the pool in the afternoon. Lots of families in the complex. The grounds are very well kept up too, it's like living in paradise! We will definitely return next year! Please feel free to contact the owners, Bob and Carol, if you need to ask us anything else.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I enjoyed a one week stay here at the end of April 2009. The booking and arrival process went smoothly and the property was well equipped. This unit is located towards the back of the complex away from the road and shops etc, though you can expect to hear tropical birds in the morning! As a town, Kihei's main attraction is the nice beaches, one of which is directly across the street from this condo. During my stay the beaches were never crowded. Kihei is also a good location for many of Maui's other sites, my favourite being Haleakala volcano (be reasonably fit and bring suitable hiking gear to make the best of this).Did you find this review helpful?
