Welcome to Del Mar! This large (1,500 sq ft) upscale property is located on Coast Boulevard right across the street from the beach. This beautiful home is a hidden gem in the heart of Del Mar. This small beach community of 10 is a quaint and private location, with a pool and jacuzzi, underground secure parking and immaculate grounds.

This highly upgraded home is professionally designed and furnished. The home features include: hardwood floors throughout, slab granite surfaces, custom hand railings, beautiful cabinetry, stunning stone work throughout, solid wood doors and trim and custom window coverings. This is a very high-end unit and it shows.

There is a king size bed with a 42" HDTV in the master with a private patio with seating for two and a private bathroom. The guest room downstairs features a queen size bed and a HDTV with DVD and full bath downstairs. The guest bedroom upstairs features two twin beds with a flat-panel HDTV and a full bathroom. Upstairs also features a full size washer and dryer.

Off the main living area, there is a gorgeous grotto-style patio with a BBQ and a fireplace. Tropical landscaping makes the patio a perfect outdoor retreat to entertain and/or relax. The home also features central heat, ceiling fans and individual air conditioners for the bedrooms, for the rare event you have a too hot summer day in San Diego. The home is fully equipped with luxury linens, a complete kitchen and beautiful furniture and amenities throughout.

There are numerous restaurants in the area and many are within walking distance. Jakes, Poseidon and the Brigantine Restaurants are just down the street, as well as Powerhouse Park. The Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds are only one mile away. Thanks to the great location in Del Mar and easy freeway access, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Legoland and the Wild Animal Park are close and make easy day trips convenient.

A disappointment

We had great expectations for this property after looking at all the pictures and listed amentities. The location of the property in relation to the beach is very good and the lay-out of the unit is execellent for a family with two small children and a set of grandparents. Sadly enough, the property is poorly maintained. Burned out light bulbs; falling off bathtub handle; a bathtub that takes a very long time to drain; missing vertical blind slats giving no privacy (previous renters had put pillow cases up to cover at least a bit of the openings; poorly working blind slats in the living room leaving the room always in semi-darkness. Yet the worst disappointment was a totally non-functional patio: the white cushions were wet and filthy; the fireplace non-functional; the barbecue grill was dirty beyond description. In the master bedroom are two erratic functioning outlets by the beds - one lamp was broken as well. The cooking pots/skillets were so scratched and filthy - not to be useable for anyone. We notified the agent for this unit. He came with lightbulbs; brought one large new skillet and new spatulas as well as cleaning equipment for the outdoor grill . The agent took the filthy cusions and promised to return with clean cushions as well as a handyman who would fix everything. We never saw or heard from the agent the rest of the week we stayed at the unit! Were we supposed to clean the grill that had by that time a layer of mold on the thick food residue??? We requested a refund for all the amentities listed and not available to us. No answer - the agent is cloaked in a shroud of silence! We would never return to this unit inspite of the location, nor would we reccommend to any of our friends. You will spent way too much money for what you get with this unit in this terrible conditon!

Owner response:We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed. This is an outstanding condo that has made our many hundreds of guests quite happy. When we received the call that you weren’t happy with some scratches in the pans and burned out bulbs, James immediately purchased a new pan with a cover (so you could cook sausage), new utensils, light bulbs. He fixed the broken lamp switch and explained how to use the fireplace that worked perfectly before, during and after your stay. It was raining the day that you arrived, so the patio cushions were wet. James removed them and you used the outdoor chairs that were in the closet and you said it was fine. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks to living by the coast, is that the BBQ gets rusted very quickly. We feel you’re being extremely unfair especially after we made every effort to accommodate you . Again, we apologize that you were unhappy but none of your requests warranted the refund that you requested.
