  My partner and I stayed at this fab apartment for one week to celebrate his 30th Birthday. The host Sofia had genuinely thought of everything and the apartment was perfect for our needs as novice New York tourists. The place is just a short stroll to the subway that can take you all over Manhattan and there are also lots of bars, restaurants and shops close by. A great find!

  ...and what a terrific decision it was! Extremely convenient to the areas we wanted to visit over the weekend. The apartment was immaculate, well-appointed, very quiet and quite comfortable. The woman we rented from was nothing less than friendly, courteous, professional and accommodating. We plan a return trip in the near future. Highly recommended!!!

  This was the first real getaway for my wife and I in 5 years and we couldn't be happier with our choice. This place is in a very cool Lower East Side neighborhood on the edge of Chinatown and within walking distance of Little Italy and Soho. Two subway stops lay within 3 blocks. And the owner is super-friendly and helpful as well. The apartment is super clean and well-decorated and supplied. We quickly found out that if we would have forgotten to bring any number of things, we would have been just fine as they were in the apartment waiting for us. Our vacation tendency is to become a part of a neighborhood and just hang out for a few days. This was perfect for that. We can't wait to go back!

  I stayed in this apartment for 6 nights in March 2013, and I can honestly say that it’s : - Clean - Well located - Quite (no noise from outside or from neighbours) - Sofia (the host) is flexible and helpful - Big bathroom (with shower) - Near from the metro station You won’t find better ratio Price / Quality.

  My husband and I arrived to a warm welcome from Sofia, and we weren't disappointed with the apartment. It was much bigger than we had expected and furnished beautifully with lots of thoughtful extras provided to make our stay very homely. The location was very handy to the subway system and there were a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. We did some self guided walks around the area and even walked over the Brooklyn Bridge which included Chinatown on the way and a very interesting restored Jewish temple. Despite being there when Superstorm Sandy hit New York which knocked out a lot of the services, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to absorb the real feel of New York.

  Great apartment - the pictures don't do it justice. Has full kitchen, full washroom and a queen sized bed. 30 second walk from the subway. Minutes from chinatown and soho. Only concern is for those who have mobility issues as the apartment does not have an elevator. Would recommend to friends and family.

  When my wife and I decided to return home to NYC for a nine-day visit (after having moved away several years ago) we decided we wanted a unique New York experience away from the traditional midtown/Times Square tourist area. We were thrilled to have found Sofia's Lower East Side apartment. Not only was it clean, modern, recently remodeled (with a bathroom that comfortably accommodated the two of us) and very affordable, but it was very close to numerous tourist sites such as Chinatown, Little Italy, the World Trade Center Memorial, the Tenement Museum, SoHo, Tribeca as well as a wide variety of wonderful local eateries (both ethic and traditional). On top of that, the subway station - part of a city-wide system that is as user-friendly as any international system we've encountered - is only a 60-second walk from the apartment. Very convenient! In our nine days in the city we visited or attended museums, theatres, parks, baseball games, restaurants, bars, concerts and other sites in four of the city's five boroughs. Without such easy access to the subway, we would not have been able to do so much. (We saved a bundle of money, too with our Unlimited Seven-Day Metro Card.) In the end, we were extremely happy to have found Sofia's Lower East Side apartment in the city we adore.
