Xcalak House Beachfront Air Conditioning Raised Patio

Beachfront Home with Air Conditioning Xcalak, Quintana Roo Vacation Rental by Owner Listing 231712

Location: Xcalak, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mayan Riviera, Mexico (60km south of Majahual (or Mahahual), Quintana Roo, Mexico)

Accommodations:  House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

Our home is located at the south end of the most southeastern town of Mexico, the charming pueblo of Xcalak (sk-lac), on the beautiful Caribbean, Costa Maya coast, seven miles north of Belize. We are located on the edge of town, within walking distance to local restaurants, lounges and tiendas.

Local fishermen bring their daily catch to a pier about 60ft south to prepare it for sell. At sunrise and sunset the fishing birds are constantly combing the shallows for their meals and fighting for their territory. Sitting up on the private raised patio watching the wildlife you feel as if you are watching the Discovery channel. Since the lots on both sides of the house still have the local vegetation you feel as if you are on your own private beach. You can climb a ladder to access the roof from where you can acquire that all over tan.

The main reasons to come to Xcalak are relaxation and the recreational water activities. The local fishing captains can take you for a day of snorkeling or fly-fishing. They are also available to take you out for bird watching or for the Chetumal Bay and River tour. For the scuba divers that want to go out to the "Chincorro Banco" reef arrangements can be made at the park office, XTC Dive Center, Costa de Cocas Dive Center or one of the hotel on the beach road. Information can be found at the Harbour Master's Office as to which Captains can take you to the beachfront city of San Pedro on the isle Ambergris Caye in our neighboring country of Belize. Although the country of Belize is only 7 miles south of us, it is a 1 or 2 hour boat ride to San Pedro, depending on the water conditions. These are the same Captain's that are license to take you to a manatee island for a unique vacation experience. Kayaks can be rented for the fly fisherman that wants to explore the back lagoon for the world class fly fishing.

Xcalak is at the end of the road on the road less traveled. Most of the time you "rise with the sun" to start the day of exciting adventures. You can take a few hour drive to the ruins of Mayan Pyramids and abandoned forts. Go inland and you can spend a day in the capital city of Quintana Roo, Chetumal. There are museums, local shopping plazas, beautiful beachs, community plazas, for local fiestas and dances, along with Sam's Club and the major grocery store Chedurai to get supplies for your peaceful time in Xcalak.
