Absolutely fantastic stay. Miguel and Hugo were so very helpful with every little thing we needed during our stay. The apartment is nice and modern and recently updated. It is also in the perfect location in the city. You really cannot find a better neighborhood for a vacation in Barcelona. We loved hearing the bells of Santa Maria church about a block away and having some of the best restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. It is also on a very quiet street for being in the center of town. The apartment is small (a studio), but compared to staying in a hotel (at a much higher price for the space, mind you) it is a great deal. Miguel's recommendations for restaurants and sights are spot on and the books he provides about the area are also valuable resources.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. A little hard to locate at first (my GPS did not work in the narrow alleys and amongst the tall buildings) but we were quite happy once we found it. The owner, Miguel, greeted us and showed us everything we needed to know. He has written out his personal recommendations for places to visit and eat. Location is just great. Easy walk to lots of great places and easy access to public transportation. Staying in the apartment with its cooking facilities allowed us to shop the local markets, make our own meals and help keep our food budget in line. Loved visiting all of the Gaudi related sites. Barcelona was a great place to visit for us.

We enjoyed our two week stay in this wonderful apartment. The location is perfect.... close to subways, train stations, and shopping, food markets. The apartment was as pictured on VRBO. Miguel was very attentive to our needs and provided a lot of useful information about Barcelona. We highly recommend this property for a single person or couple who wants to enjoy time in Barcelona without the hassle of conventional hotels. We will contact Miguel again if the property is available when returning to Barcelona!

We stayed in this lovely apartment from December 29, 2011-January 7th, 2012. Miguel was so helpful in the months leading up to our arrival. He was always willing to help with things such as New Years Eve dinner reservations and information on a 10k we did while we were in town. When we arrived, he was there at the apartment to greet us and give us a run down of the city and our apartment. It is the perfect size for two people and though it is listed as a studio, there is a 1/2 wall that separates the bed from the rest of the apartment, which almost felt, to us, like a one bedroom. The photo's depicted on this site are exactly what the apartment looks like, so we knew exactly what to expect. The location can NOT be beat! Wonderful restaurants, bars and locals roaming around. It was so nice to have a "home" to go to after long days of site seeing. We highly recommend this to anyone thinking of booking in Barcelona. You will not be disappointed!

i stayed at miguel's cozy studio during the 12th to 17th of december. the studio is so lovely decorated and so comfortable, i just feel like at home. there's many nice restaurants in the El Born area, it makes mighel's studio a perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the local life of barcelona. i hope i can come back again next year.

This property is PERFECT. A clean, modest space with not a lot of extra room but plenty of room for the important things like relaxing in the sitting area and for storing items you pick up and suitcases/clothes you might bring on your trip. The location is SUPERB. In a great area for walking around the bustling streets in an area that is very close to major attractions and great bars and restaurants, but not at all a touristy place. I got great response for Miguel, the owner, and he was very helpful and attentive when we needed him. LOTS of guidebooks on site as well that we found very helpful. A great find!

We have just arrived home from a wonderful holiday in Barcelona & at Miguel's Apartment. Everything was perfect & was as described. Comfy bed, very important! The location was fantastic.Wine & Deli shop ,Vila Viniteca right around the corner....many visits there! Close to metro to get everywhere we couldn't walk to. I don't know what else to say except...Gracias, Miguel...loved every minute of our stay in wonderful Barcelona & our home away from home.Your advise and suggestions for restaurants and info on getting around was greatly appreciated.

We would highly recommend Miguel's very comfortable and incredibly well situated apartment to anyone contemplating a visit to Barcelona! The sites and sounds, including amazing restaurants, churches, and shops, are at your doorstep. Miguel warmly welcomed us and gave us many pointers along the way, always responding in a timely and helpful manner. Though listed as a studio, the partition gave the feeling of a separate bedroom. This is a great bargain and opportunity - a chance to live as a local in a great and beautiful city that is a joy to explore.

my husband and i stayed in this great little place in early july 2011. the apartment is cute, quaint, clean, roomy enough for two, and in a wonderful location. it is 2 blocks from a metro stop, steps from fun local bars, yummy resturants, a beautiful church and square, shopping, gelato, and under 1/2 km from the beach. it truly is a gem(and the bed is exceptionally comfy). the reviews do this place the justice it deserves. then there is miguel, the host. i cannot say enough about what a warm and wonderful man he is. we had a couple issues before we got to the apartment, and miguel guided us thru the bumps with the generosity and kindess of an old friend. he's exceptionally proud of barcelona and catalonya as a whole. so take some time, sit back, relax, and let the beauty of this region wash over you. we will be back, so the next time seattle calls, i certainly hope it's miguel that answers.

We stayed at this condo from May 14- May 16. Since our cruise ship arrived early in the morning Miguel was kind enough to send his son Hugo to let us in early in the morning so we could have somewhere to put our luggage while we toured during the day with our daughter. It gave us the chance to spend the day in Barcelona with our daughter before putting her on a train to return home to France. the location was perfect (once we found it-no thanks to a cabbie who dropped us off at the wrong location) but one call to Miguel and he had us go to Santa Maria Church where we were met by his son. We enjoyed our day and then returned to the neighbourhood at night which was alive with many nice outdoor cafes and grocery stores as well. The condo was perfect having everything we may have needed for our two night stay. I was so glad i didnt waste money on a hotel as this place was so charming for us and easy to get around to all the sights. You cant go wrong with staying here and will recommend to any one i know going to Barcelona or if i am fortunate enough will be able to stay here sometime im the future.

This place is cute, clean, and comfortable. Miguel went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. He provides a binder of information which is quite helpful. The very best thing about this apartment is the location - it is in the middle of the very heart of the tourist area. Despite its perfect location, it is totally quiet. The price is quite fair for what you get. When you're booking your apartment in Barcelona, just remember the best way to minimize walking is to have central lodging - you can't do any better in that regard than this apartment.

We just returned from a week in this charming, cozy apartment. We could not have been more pleased. As other reviewers have noted, the location is perfect for exploring this beautiful city. We loved walking out the door without a plan and winding our way through the narrow, medieval streets of the Born district, stumbling upon unique cafes, quirky shops and those unbelievable food markets. The city's museums and architectural marvels are within walking distance (or a short subway ride.) Miguel has stocked the apartment with everything a traveler might want or need, including every guidebook ever written on Barcelona, a reliable wifi connection and even a sewing kit (which came in handy as it turns out!) The little kitchen is perfect for cooking up your bounty from nearby Santa Caterina market (for us, longoustine, saffron rice and chicken - yum!) We also enjoyed a bottle (or two) of excellent, inexpensive rioja chosen by the expert staff of Vino Vinoteca around the corner. Thank you, Miguel, for providing a perfect little place to experience life in this wonderful city. We will highly recommend your apartment to our family and friends.

Amazing Location, Feels Like Home in Barcelona

El Born is the best possible location to stay in this beautiful city. We did tons of exploring and were always so excited to come home to this beautiful apartment. Miguel goes above and beyond with his communication before and during your stay. This apartment has every possible thing you could ever need including maps, books, DVDs and more. The apartment is gorgeous. It is modern, clean, comfortable and we're in love with the location. We had coffee every morning right around the corner at Bubo and daily tapas at Xampanyet (the staff is friendly, welcoming and it is a great local place. The weather was so nice that we even spent our last day at the beach which is just a short walk. We are so excited to return to Barcelona and would not think of staying anywhere else.

This studio is a delightful place to stay for a couple while exploring Barcelona on foot. Owner Miguel is the consummate host - providing the most detailed advice on where to shop, eat, and enjoy a city he obviously knows well and loves to share with others. The care he has taken in outfitting this studio with all the comforts plus the things you may need in a pinch is amazing. After a month of traveling we loved shopping at the nearby SC market or the La Boqueria and coming home to make our own mini-feasts. For those who want to eat out - the choices of good places nearby are enough to fill weeks. I recommend walking downstairs, turning right, and buying ice cream at the gelato place on the nearby corner (the pistachio ice cream was to die for!). You can buy it and bound back up the stairs to the studio and eat it while watching one of the many DVD's filmed in Barcelona that Miguel has so kindly left for his guests enjoyment. If we go back to Barcelona, I would stay here again with no reservations whatsoever. Thank you Miguel!

The studio is exactly as described here, and the owner is very responsive and helpful. It was a pleasure to rent from him. The apartment has tasteful and functional decor. Unbeatable location. Street was quiet, considering its centrality. Staying here made our Barcelona experience perfect. We had a wonderful time in Barcelona, thanks in large part to the perfect location and amenities of this apt. Miguel met us there, and gave us the keys and a quick tour. Everything the traveler could ask for is there: washer & clothesline, cooking utensils, iron, a/c, dvd library, even a heater in the bathroom. The area is beautiful--we spent many hours each day (including meals) in the same neighborhood. The re are a variety of Tapas bars, restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs, other shops. There's even a gelato shop downstairs from the apt. It's close to the metro and train station, and we got around to all the major sights (including a day trip to Montserrat) without the need for car or taxi. We felt safe our entire time there, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Loved the apartment and the location. Very easy to get everywhere in the city. Nice, safe neighborhood. Apartment is perfect for 2. Great guide books and maps in the apartment also. My only complaint is the bed was a bit uncomfortable. But everything else was great! Oh,and Miguel was very flexible and accommodating with our schedule. He made it very easy for us! Thanks Miguel!

This was the most delightful apartment, beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming, on a small, quaint little street, with only pedestrian traffic. And right in the heart of the most beautiful part of Barcelona. The owner was so welcoming and kind. He left fresh fruit and a cold bottle of wine to welcome me!! This is truly a memorable place to stay. Is wonderful for 2 people.
