A recently renovated barn with a walled garden set within a quiet village west of Chatillon sur Seine, en route to Chablis. The property has been styled to retain a balance of the old and new incorporating natural features of oak and stone whilst blending with the modern comfortable furnishings and up to date technology.
Just a short journey to the Boulangerie where you can collect your fresh bread & croissants to return and enjoy a sunny breakfast on the terrace. This is a place where you can easily relax and unwind in a tranquil setting or enjoy the hive of activities in the neighbouring towns were there are weekly markets, many cafes and restaurants. To the west lies the town of Chablis and its’ fine vineyards where you can taste, enjoy and take home the best wines on offer, to the north Les Ricey, one of the Champagne regions finest villages or further afield you can explore the rolling hills of Burgundy scattered with small villages and castles.
The living areas are spacious and open plan, ideal for a family or friends to enjoy the social aspect of cooking, dining & spending quality time together. The wonderfully comfortable, light lounge with TV system, IPOD dock and WI-FI leads out to the rear garden and terrace area with barbeque and lounging facilities. Accommodating upto 8 people with two large double bedrooms and three single bedrooms, large bathroom and a separate toilet over two floors.

We live in Kent, England with our 2 children and a Border Terrier. We've been going on holiday to France for many years and wanted something more permanent. We try to get here as often as possible but that's not as often as we'd like - it's usually the kids activities holding us back. But it's great when we're here - this is just a perfect area to relax.
Why the Owner Chose Chatillon-sur-seine
We wanted somewhere within easy driving distance of Calais (it's about 4 hours 30 mins) that was quiet, relaxed, away from it all but where there are things to do. A place that had character and warmth and yet also had all mod cons. Our kids are 15 and 9 so there also had to be enough to keep them occupied. The village feels almost remote and yet is within 20 minutes drive of everything you could need. Paris is a little over 2 hours drive away but is easily avoided on the drive down using the A26 via Reims and when you get here you know you're in France. Burgundy is relatively undiscovered by the Brits and feels like abroad!
The Unique Benefits of this Converted Barn
We enjoy peace and quiet and can relax in a great location. The house has everything we need and there are loads of great days out not far away; unfortunately we don't get to as many as we should because we can't be bothered to leave the immediate locality! Chatillion and Tonnere are both about 20 minutes drive away (you do need a car here) and have enough to keep you occupied, bigger towns are within an hour's drive. Chablis is about 25 minutes drive and it's a must to visit the town and at least one of the many vineyards. Take your laptop and check out all the sites - the house has wifi which means even our 15 year old can keep in touch with her friends!
