If you've been surfing Gardiner, Mt on VRBO, you have got to be asking yourself: What is with all these cloned cabins? Let me explain. My cabin and the others were part of the former Yellowstone River Resort. The resort was initially built in 1999 to provide lodging and meals for the Elderhostel programs in and around Yellowstone National Park. In 2005, the owners offered the cabins for sale to individuals. The majority were purchased as rentals or second homes. The exteriors and floor plans are the same. For the most part, it is only the decor that varies and perhaps a few gizmos.

My cabin (#11) is the only one locally owned and operated. As such, I am able to offer significant savings over my neighbors (as much as $10-$40/night) depending on the time of year. The cabin is set off a bit from the other original cabins and is oriented for the mountains views. You can Google Earth the place at 45 degrees 04' 16.65" N 110 degrees 46' 24.31" W (no airstrikes, please). I maintain the cabin personnally and make myself available to answer questions and provide information to help you make the most of your stay. In return, you supplement my livelihood. I trust that this will always be a fair trade.

Regardless of whether you stay at my place, my neighbors' or elsewhere in the Gardiner area, you are well positioned to explore Yellowstone. As a tourist, fly fisherman or an attendee of the educational programs offered by the Yellowstone Association, the North Entrance provides the best gateway to the Grand Loop and Yellowstone's most sought after features.

For further information on me and my place, refer to the link to my website. For information on lodging providers (some not necessarily on VRBO), you also may want to check with the Gardiner Chamber of Commerce.

Wonderful experience!

We stayed in mid September for 5 nights (4 adults). We had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, very spacious and cozy at the same time. The view of the mountains was spectacular. One morning we woke up and saw that it snowed on top of the mountains. The entrance to the north entrance of Yellowstone was just up the road, and the little town of Gardiner at the north entrance was so quaint. There were no crowds because of the time of year. Gardiner had many restaurants to choose from overlooking Yellowstone. We went sightseeing every day in Yellowstone and coming home to the cabin every night was truly a joy. Sitting on the back deck with a glass of wine every evening watching the sun set behind the mountains is something we will never forget. We came back from this vacation very de-stressed and relaxed. We have never seen so many stars at night. It was gorgeous!! The owner was very accommodating and gave us his phone numbers in case we needed anything at all. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone traveling through Yellowstone who wants a very relaxing vacation away from the crowds.

Wonderful place to stay!

At first we were a little disappointed when we realized that we weren't directly on the river, but we quickly saw that we had the better view and didn't have to worry about an abundance of mosquitos that are inevitably the downside of being near the water. The river was a quick 2 second walk with easy access anyhow. The view of Electric Peak and surrounding mountains just outside of the kitchen and living room windows and from the patio was beautiful! The cabin itself is clean, spacious and decorated beautifully. Well stocked and very comfortable. Wade was very easy to deal with, friendly and hospitable. He stopped by on our first day to introduce himself and make sure everything was ok. The location was great! Not very far from the north entrance to the park and so peaceful. We hiked to the top of the flat-topped mt. just in front of Electric Peak and could see the whole valley. There were seven of us and each of us agreed that we would love to stay in that cabin whenever we're in the Yellowstone area. I highly recommend it!
