First off I will explain why this isn't 5 star, but this place is very close! Great house, great amenities, property managers are OUTSTANDING. We had a couple of minor questions/issues when we first got there and there was someone to come out and take care of it almost immediately. Very responsive and helpful! The house is very nicely finished as we had 10 ppl staying here(4 couples and 2 singles) and everyone was very comfortable the entire stay. The pool table and HD tv's with Direct TV and all the channels is great after a long day at the casino's or slopes. Hot tub helps here too! Only suggestion I would make re: the hot tub is that the cover blocks the view when you are in it. Although it's a view of pine trees, coming from the South we like that! It would be nice if the cover came all the way off or was facing towards the house while people are in it. The only other issue was the lip on the driveway, it's at least 8-10 inches raised off the street. We rented a Ford Expedition and fully loaded, it bottomed out a couple of times. Make sure you rent SUV's if you plan to use the driveway. The house has plenty to do if you are a homebody and is VERY comfortable. I would recommend this house to anyone and will hopefully be making return trips here in the years to come!
Owner response:Thanks Kelly - we look forward to having you back next year!

Somehow we lucked out finding this treasure! (I almost hesitate to give my Review because everyone will want to book it - but I have to be honest..) For a large group/family this house cannot be beat. Once we all arrived, no one wanted to go out! The house has everything you need. We can't wait to get together and reserve it again! Enjoy!
Owner response:Thanks Melanie! We look forward to having you back in the near future! -Michael

Absolutely beautiful house, huge. Nice, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, updated appliances - easy to use. Great TV reception in all rooms and a wonderful game room, which we had a lot of fun in playiing pool and video games. Very happy owner put a patio set outdoors, as we enjoyed spending time looking out at the forest and listening to the creek below the house. We found no negatives about the house, it was wonderful. Althought most of what we needed was there, we would have liked to have some large bowls for salad, etc. A couple larger pots, wine glasses and extra towels for the spa. It was good we brought zip-lock bags, foil, saranwrap...etc as there wasn't any in the kitchen, nor were there any extra garbage bags. If you do plan to rent this house with small children, I suggest you pack a child gate, as the stairs leading to the bedrooms are a little steep. Other stairs in the home are only 4-5 high and our 2 year old had no problems with them. House is very well built, beautiful inside and out, and a walk down to the creek was beautiful. It is very close to stores, the beaches and casinos. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone that wants to travel to Tahoe. It was quiet, close to the action, and very accomadating for all ages (ours were from 2-84)

This house is amazing. It looks exactly like the pictures, but when I arrived, it was even bigger than I had thought. It was clean and stocked of supplies. The neighborhood was very peaceful. But, I recommend driving a car that is high, such as an suv or truck because the driveway will scrape the undercarriage of lower cars horribly. That is only reason why I gave it 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5. It was close to the main road where we had a 10 minute drive to the grocery store and the spa. We took a cab to Harrah's, which cost us about $20. Overall, I am very pleased with this house and the service.
Owner response:Thanks Kristine - glad you enjoyed it! We do recommend SUVs for accessing this home in the winter, but in the summer street parking is no problem so the bump can be avoided for cars with low ground clearance. We hope to have you back again! -Michael

I've been renting cabins in South Lake tahoe for the past 6 years and so far this is the best one yet. The cabin is big enough for a large party such as ours which had eight adults and 5 kids. I would for sure stay in this cabin again. The vacation rental company was very helpfully and respond promptly with any question that I had. Great place to stay!!!!!!!!
Owner response:Robert - thanks very much for the great review! We're glad we could help you arrange your vacation and look forward to hearing from you in the future!

My friends and I walked into this house and our mouths fell open. It is a beautiful home full of amenities and exactly as described in the listing, right down to the beautiful views of the stars from the hot tub (which was already on!) on the back patio. The property was very clean and new and I felt comfortable walking around without shoes (very rare for me). Every bedroom has a huge flat screen tv with DirectTV. Every girl in our group wanted to bring the gourmet kitchen home. The couches and beds were very comfortable. There were books, movies, board games, darts, a pool table, a foosball table, and even a PlayStation (but bring your own games for that - we never found any). The house was spacious and airy. Our toddlers had lots of room to play but you have to keep a general eye on them - there are lots of stairs and accessible kitchen controls (i.e. stove, microwave). However, there are no glass sculptures or anything they could destroy. The owner provided excellent customer service, prompt responses, and a quick return of the deposit without any nitpicking. The only downside was that there were only five chairs at the dining room table, so it was hard to play poker or table games with our group of nine adults. There were plenty of towels, linens and toilet paper. I would recommend this property to everyone except people without a car or who can't do stairs. There were grocery stores nearby along with all the usual Tahoe stuff - it's very easy to drive to Hwy 50. This place is lovely, the price is reasonable, and when we go back to Tahoe, we're staying here! Thanks again!

This house is huge. Came here with almost 10 people and like someone else said, it still felt huge! Great place to cook in since it has a large kitchen, plus nice hot tub on the deck, and BBQ. Two tv rooms make this place perfect for movies and the pool table was a must. We love this place and hope to return.

Upon reaching the address, the effects of our long drive suddenly disappeared as we saw the great facade of the house. We had a problem parking the van at the driveway because of the steep entry. However, as we entered the house, we were pleasantly surprised that the actual thing matched perfectly with the photos. The rooms were relatively spacious and the master's was very huge. It really was perfect for a large extended family like ours (we were 11 in all). The house was close to the lake, the stores and casinos. There were also enough "toys" to entertain ourselves even when we decided to stay in. We arrived to a very clean place with enough kitchen implements. This is a place we would definitely recommend and, should we decide to return to Tahoe, will be at the top of our list.

We just spent 8 days and 7 nights in Del Norte Manor, and would not hesitate to return again. We found the home clean, fresh and ready to go! Upon entry into the home, you realize photos do not do the home justice. It is beautiful! There are a few things you cannot see in the photos, however. The master bathroom has a tiled shower that is huge. Although I did not measure it, it had to be at least 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. It has two shower heads, body jets, a rain shower head, and a shower seat. It was great to come home to that after a long day of skiing! The bath in the second master suite has a jetted tub and double sinks, and the shared bath has two shower heads in the tiled, walk-in shower as well! The beds were all comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we only needed to purchase a few kitchen items (knife sharpener, garlic press) for cooking. There were a few spices and basic items in the home already, but I don’t think they are standard. They were things that the cleaning service thankfully does not throw away. There are also two front loading washers and dryers located down stairs so laundry for even the largest groups is not an issue! There is parking for four vehicles as stated with two in the garage and two in the driveway, but be aware of the large, steep bump to get into the driveway. We scraped the bottom of our rental SUV when trying to back into the driveway so I don’t recommend trying that. We did not have an issue going over the bump when pulling forward though. Smaller cars need to beware! We had to construct snow ramps to pull a car into the driveway, and there are also boards to help with this when there isn’t snow! This was not a huge issue or a problem, but it is something to be cautious of as you do not want to damage your car or your rental car. As a whole, we found this to be a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to recommend Del Norte to friends and family. Our leasing agent was fantastic, efficient, and most helpful and there was an emergency maintenance number just in case (although we didn't need it). We are looking forward to using VRBO on all of our upcoming vacations, and hopefully revisiting Del Norte Manor sometime in the future! If you rent Del Norte Manor, you won’t be disappointed!
