This is truly "on the beach" living. Be on the ocean 24/7 where you can see and hear the waves. Please view our video to understand the unobstructed proximity to the sand and sea. We love it here. We actually see dolphins, whales and seals right out in front of the condo. Lots of pelicans diving too.
Our condo is available for 30 day minimum rentals year round. Rate is based on four person occupancy. We can accommodate six at a surcharged price.
Located in an exclusive gated community of approximately 70 units Enjoy two Jacuzzis spas, access code gates and underground security parking for up to three vehicles. We have a cozy fireplace in case the evenings cool off and the washer/dryer are right in the unit. Also two TV's and two DVDs. Fully equipped kitchen, of course. Basically a condo full of everything you could need or want.
There is an elevator from the garage to the main level. Our condo has approximately 10 steps up to the front door. Once inside, it is single story living. Being on the second floor allows us to have the sky lights that we enjoy so much.
There are so many fun things to do here that it is hard to know where to start. The greatest and best is the ocean. Our waves are strong enough to push a surf board or a buggy board but gentle enough for the younger children to play without being thrown about.
Years ago we used to visit Laguna and Newport Beach but the waves were overpowering and would knock us around so we were excited to find Oceanside where the waves are more like Waikiki.
We Love To: Surf, Buggy Board, Body Surf, Swim, Sunbathe, Walk, in the water just outside the condo.
Watch the national surfing competitions held just on our side of the pier. Also go to the many festivals and street fairs at the beach areas. Watch the colorful kite surfers from our balcony.
Sit in the Jacuzzi spa and watch the sun go down over the ocean. Picnic on the beach and watch the 4th of July fireworks from our balcony.
Walk out to the end of the pier and have a treat or a meal at Ruby's 1950's style diner. Then on the way home we often walk by the Regal theater where we can choose a movie from 16 screens. We love having "our own" theater within short walking distance.
Walk over to the Harbor and have a treat at the Nautical Bean (mochas are "to die for" - better than Starbucks). Or go to Dominic's for great pizza/pasta and then to Nautical Bean for desert. There is a real plethera of dining at the harbor.
For fine dining we take the short drive up to the Four Season's Aviara in Carlsbad and enjoy either the beautiful restaurants in the main hotel or go on down to Argyles at the golf clubhouse. We have no shortage of fine dining in the area with Del Mar and La Jolla being so close by.
Rent kayaks or sailboats or paddle boats at the harbor. Go to the shopping outlets in Carlsbad (approximately 10 miles).
Ride our bikes (3/4 mile) to the Oceanside train station where we can take our bikes along and ride to San Diego, hop on the ferry to Coronado Island (again, our bikes are welcome) and ride around the Island, have a nice lunch, then return by ferry and train to our hideaway on the beach in Oceanside.
The ferry is one of the few remaining bargains around. You essentially get a boat tour on the bay for the price of a ferry ticket - currently $6.00/person.
Walk to the train station where we can ride the Surfliner train to Santa Barbara, spend the day enjoying Santa Barbara, spend the night, and enjoy the train ride back again to our hideaway on the beach in Oceanside.
Oceanside is the North most point for the "Coaster" which runs from Oceanside south to San Diego or east to Escondido. Oceanside is also the South most point for the Metro that runs through San Clemente, L.A. and on up to Ventura. They run along the beautiful coast line and welcome bikes so we have fun exploring and bike riding by train.
Hop on our bikes and ride the shoreline trail north through Pendleton to Dana Point (about 20 miles) have a nice lunch in the harbor and ride home. One nice thing about this trip is that there is a train station in San Clemente, just south of Dana Point, where you can hop on and ride home if your biking legs are getting tired. I always like to have a "plan b".
I could go on and on - and I will if you want me to when you rent the condo - suffice it to say that besides the nature oriented activities (and you notice most of ours include a dining experience)- there are all the San Diego and Los Angeles attractions within reach i.e. Lego Land, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Disneyland, Knot's Berry Farm, Sports events, Symphony, Opera and Ballet in both San Diego and L.A. Etc. Etc. Etc....................
Come on down to Oceanside - you'll be glad you did! And there's nothing like being right on the beach! Maximum occupancy is 6 persons per HOA rules and regulations. Occupancy limits are strictly enforced at all times!
