Just about a 2 hour drive across the island to north Hilo area, you will find spectacular waterfalls, Botanical gardens, a wonderful farmers market and crafters fair. Don't miss the historic Hilo town and beautiful park. Then, continue south to fern and orchid forests, and then up the mountain to see a real live volcano, sometimes within a short walk to view a live lava flow! AMAZING! Then, continue down the other side of the mountain and visit a black sand beach with turtles lounging in the sun.
If all this driving or walking isn't your cup of tea, try an air adventure with spectacular air views you'll never forget!
Fishing in Kona is outstanding, book a charter boat for a fun day of deep sea fishing, you might even snag a Blue Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Ahi Tuna, or yummy 'ONO' a local favorite.
