If you are looking for a wonderful escape to the mountains of NC, we have just the place for you at The Cottage at Hidden Lake! This is a newer cabin with high-end appliances and fixtures! It has all the modern luxuries of home, but offers a cozy & sophisticated retreat for you to unwind and relax!
Located in McDowell County, approx. 10 miles south of the town of Marion, NC. It is situated below I-40 just off of Hwy 226 South. The cabin is in the gated log home community called Hidden Lake. This is a 2 level cabin with wonderful mountain and pasture views. It sits off of a quiet, side road in a peaceful setting. Deer and wild turkey are seen at times in the area.
Upon entering the home you will be in the cottage-like surroundings of the combination living room, and eat-in kitchen. The living room features a gas log fireplace, TV( with HD-DirecTV & Wii system), comfy sofa, with additional side chairs. The kitchen has everything needed to cook the meal of your choice. The table offers seating for 6.
The bedroom on this floor features a King Size bed with lots of closet space. The bathroom has a very elegant & romantic claw foot tub that also doubles as a shower. A double vanity sink with built-in medicine cabinets and separate toilet room finish off the space. Also located on this floor are the top-loading full size washer and dryer.
Going upstairs you will come to the 2nd bedroom with a King Size bed and sitting area great for reading or relaxing. There are wonderful views from this level! The bathroom here features a very large jetted tub with more than enough room for two that is also heated! There are 2 pedestal sinks, a toilet, and glass/tiled shower with a rainfall showerhead, hand-held wand and bench seat.
Outside of the cabin, adjoining the living room, is a large screened-in porch just great for unwinding in the evenings. A propane gas grill is here, along with a comfortable seating arrangement for dining or just relaxing.
Guests staying here will also have access to the community common areas featuring a small 10-acre fishing lake (swimming not allowed in the lake). If you have a small canoe or kayak, you are welcome to bring that with you (as there are none to rent) and use it in the lake. Fishing is catch & release only. There are also picnic tables & grills in this area for your use. Sitting above the lake is the seasonal inground pool and poolhouse with shower & bathroom facilities. Other common areas include a streamside park with more picnic tables, grills & a horseshoe pit. And there are some nature walking trails as well.
We regret that we cannot accept pets of any type. This is also a non-smoking residence. Starter supplies of paper products, dish & laundry detergents are also provided.

Deposit returned via mail after departure & satisfactory inspection of home.
Full balance due NO later than 1 week PRIOR to arrival.
$75 Cleaning/Trash Removal Fee plus Taxes of 11.75% are additional.

My dad reserved this cabin for us as a wedding gift & it was remarkable! Super clean, had everything we could have possibly needed, so peaceful & relaxing! Again we returned to The Cottage at Hidden Lake to find the perfect vacation spot. For years we have searched for a cabin with privacy, cleanliness and easy access to resturants and shopping. Our search is over. This cabin offers everything you need. If you enjoy the mountains, this is the cabin for you. Managment has provided eveything needed down to the last detail including maps for directions to every resturant and things to do. I love the area as well. Lake James is very beautiful and we never made a wrong turn. You have to check out this cabin once and you will be hooked. We are.

My family spent the weekend relaxing in your cabin and everything was perfect. The place was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a quite weekend. We used our kayaks on the lake and had a great time. The check in and out process was smooth and quick with Theresa's help.

My husband and I stayed in this charming home for a recent weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything that we hoped for, we found there. It was remarkably clean and well-stocked, comfortable, homey, luxurious... We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It is close enough to many attractions, but complete enough to stay there the whole weekend without going out. We'll be back, no doubt.

We recently booked this cabin and I was amazed how clean everything was. The manager has not missed a thing. In the event to have questions, they are there. Every detail was covered. Directions for resturants and attractions. This cabin is absolutely breath taking. A quiet community with lots of privacy. This was the most excellent vaction ever.

My family and I wanted to get away to North Carolina to relax and catch the fall colors. We just stayed at this property this past weekend and we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. This cabin was charming, comfortable and full of amenities. From the gigantic jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom to the fully equipped, modern kitchen - this cabin has everything you need to get away without being rustic! Cabin is not far from tourist attractions and James Lake. Owner recommended Holly's Deli in nearby Marion - it was excellent. This cabin is perfect for a romantic get away, a girlfriend weekend or a family vacation. If you are looking to get away from it all, I highly recommend this property!

My husband and I came here to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What a wonderful place to do just that! We thoroughly enjoyed all the extra touches in the cabin. The king size bed was extra comfy, and the jacuzzi tub had room for 2! We enjoyed a glass of wine in the evenings on the side porch looking out over the mountains - so quiet and peaceful! We even saw deer and wild turkey during our stay. We definitely plan on coming back, and sharing this great place with others! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
