Total privacy in this new construction, 2,000 sq. ft. custom designed country home with many green technology features. This newer home is on 20 acres, 1/4 mile from its access road. If you prefer privacy and nature over the crowded beach, you will love this house.
Lot includes a large pine forest, ΒΌ acre pond, walking paths through a private woods, creek, and a back yard large enough to fly a kite or play bocce ball. The beaches of South Haven are only 15 minutes to the south, the shops and restaurants of Douglas and Saugatuck are 15-20 minutes to the north, giving you the best of both worlds.
The 2 story house provides a new state-of-the art kitchen with stainless steel appliances, service for 8, gas grill, indoor & outdoor dining for 6 to 8. Living room has a wood burning fireplace. A large screened porch off the kitchen offers views into the woods. The main floor includes 1 bedroom and main bath (separate tub/shower).
The second floor includes a master bedroom with its own deck, a full bath (shower only), a TV/DVD/VCR area with futon couch and desk with internet connection. WIFI is provided throughout the home.
The finished lower level includes a large third bedroom with its own full bath (shower only) and washer/dryer. A full size futon sleeper sofa is also located in this bedroom.
The entire home is freshly decorated with local art, and dramatic colors. If you enjoy music, there is a whole-house audio system, ready to plug in your IPod or play CDs. There are many large windows to see the country views and wildlife, the house has central air conditioning. Each bedroom has its own closet and dresser. The entry foyer has a large coat/guest closet.
This home is available June 1 through November 15. Sorry, due to its location, telephone or cable TV are not available. We have a few movies on both DVD and VHS. DVD rentals are available in the village of Glenn. Most cellular phones work great. Please call or email for additional photos and information.

Why the Owner Chose South Haven
We love this area. It's close enough to the cities for easy access, but far enough away to really feel like we have gotten away from it all. The best of both worlds. Large parcels of land all around, lots of privacy, peace and quiet, with all the many tourist activities like beaches, restaurants, art, shopping just minutes away. The towns of Douglas, Saugatuck and South Haven are all fabulous and loaded with so many things to do. Lots of diversity.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Beautiful land, lots of privacy. Enjoy watching the birds, walking the land, picnicing by the pond, picking berries, or just lying around in the hammock, it's all wonderful. Not to be missed is Fernwood farm and Khnemu art gallery located right across the street. Get some fresh eggs, they are delicious.
Gallery shop located on historic farm. Featuring ceramics, jewelry, cards, as well as some home grown food items. Walk the farm land and view chickens, peacocks, ducks, cows, llama, and horse.
A small charming village with a great little gift shop, restaurant, convenience store, post office, hardware store.
Local farmers market. Lots of great produce. Apple orchard with u-pick, play lot, orchard rides. Say hello to Farmer Ed!
Some great restaurants are here as well as Cranes Apple orchard just west of town on 124th.
This a a great little town for shopping and dining. Charming and small, our favorite restaurant is here-"Everyday People Cafe" Parking is easy here.
The town of Saugatuck, the "Matha's Vineyard" of the area. Very crowded in the summer with lots to see and do. Oval beach is rated one of the best beaches in the US.
A very family friendly town. Fabulous beaches! Beautiful boat harbor. Restaurants and shopping. Lots to see and do.

The owners are Les and Jill, Les is a photographer and Jill is a graphic artist. We live in Chicago but have had a second home in the South Haven area for over 20 years. We love this area. It's close enough to the cities for easy access, but far enough away to really feel like we have gotten away from it all. We really like having lots of space and privacy. The only cars we see or hear are the ones coming to see us. Watching the birds, walking the land, picnicking by the pond, picking berries, or just lying around in the hammock, it's all wonderful.
