This beautiful and well-equipped family-friendly bay house, only one hour from D.C., features exquisite views of the Chesapeake Bay from atop a 300' cliff. Great for a romantic weekend or bring the whole family for a week's vacation - there's lots to do!
A letter from a recent renter "Thank you so much for sharing your bay house with us. It is so beautiful. We loved the water views, they were amazing. We set our clocks for 6:30am to watch the sunrise from the sunroom. We didn't even have to go outside and get cold to see it. It was straight in front of us! I hope we can visit again someday. That was my first time staying on the bay and it was really peaceful and relaxing. The beach was very nice. We went there 2 afternoons. Again, thanks so much. It was great."
Accomodations include a master bedroom with a queen bed and full bath on the third level, two bedrooms with full beds and with full bath on the main level, and on the lower level - the perfect kids' quarters complete with twin beds, sofa and love seat, cable tv (ready for video game hook-up), WiFi, full bath with jacuzzi tub, pool table with cafe tables and bar stools - even a second refrigerator for drinks and snacks. Two new, individual kayaks with life vests come with the rental.
The house is furnished with a mixture of coastal-inspired new furniture and antiques, is light-filled and meticulously maintained, has incredible views of the bay and property from all rooms, and with its wooded lot and fenced backyard (double lot) this house offers privacy and serenity for the perfect, relaxing but fun-filled getaway.

We enjoyed our mini-getaway at this wonderful Beach property location. These days trying to catch up with young teenagers with busy schedules, is not always easy. We played board games, experienced the beach and of course just relaxed talking in this quite private setting . Everthing at this property is very well maintained. I look forward to a return visit.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I've had the pleasure of staying at this property on two separate occasions. It's a beautiful home and the morning's watching the sunrise on the Bay can't be matched. It also has a great deck for entertaining plus the solitude of a very private yard for an afternoon nap. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this charming Bay house recently. It was wonderful -- beautiful views from every room. Comfortable house with wonderful cozy furniture and atmosphere. Nice size and very workable kitchen. It couldn't have been nicer.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I cannot imagine a more comfortable place to get away and relax. The view is absolutely unbeatable. If you can pry yourself away from the house, there are great places to hike nearby and delicious restaurants to enjoy. I cannot wait to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home. The home was in a fantastic location, secluded yet close to everything. The views of the Chesapeake were breathtaking, and it was only a short walk to the beach. The rooms were large and perfectly decorated, and the house was immaculately kept. About the owner: In 2007, I purchased this house as a getaway for my family - it was a life-long dream to own a house that overlooked the water and that I could pass down to the next generation. This house has become a haven for us and is a favorite group excursion for my young-adult sons.
Why the Owner Chose Port Republic:
The Chesapeake Bay is an ever-changing and untamed body of water. We love the wildlife that is so prevalent, the beautiful views, the kayaking, the quiet and relative seclusion of our house there. The beaches, unlike ocean beaches, are perfect for walking in solitude while watching the swans swim, the eagles fly over and the herons fish. Last year we watched in stunned fascination at the hundreds of skates swimming within feet of the shore. You won't find many sunbathers there and no beach umbrellas, but you will find "toothers" - locals and visitors searching for the famed prehistoric sharks' teeth for which the area is known. People on the bay are friendly,and most are residents, so if you are not a tourist-trap fan, this is the place for you.
