Why the Owner Chose Morganton
This is a beautiful property very close to wonderful outdoor adventures.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The cabin is made mostly of wood and stone - natural materials, constructed in the 1930s. There is something very earthy about being here - very healing. It will revitalize you from the inside out. Swim or float down the Linville River on a hot summer day, just behind the house. Relax on the screened in porch. Hike the Linville Gorge - the "Grand Canyon" of the southeast - a quick drive from the cabin.

This cabin is in a perfect location to enjoy both the Lake James region and the Linville Gorge wilderness. The cabin was exactly as described - clean and well-maintained. Lovely new deck with adirondack chairs were great for sitting outside and looking at the river which is just feet away from the cabin and a fabulous place to swim. The area is great for kayaking (literally a hop, skip and jump from the lake) and hiking. We hiked down to the bottom of the gorge to the river, checked out the caverns and had some lovely drives around the lake as well. Not too many restaurants unless you drive into Morganton. The owners were very helpful and I would definitely recommend the cabin to anyway seeking to visit the area.

We love this place! The cabin was clean and very maintained and it was everything that was advertised to be and more! We were very comfortable and felt right at home. The neighbors were very friendly, we enjoyed chatting with them, they were able to help us with the near by stores etc... The river in the back was awesome! We were playing in the river and swimming etc... and my husband cast his fishing line in the water and caught a rainbow trout right where we were swimming! The mountain air was so refreshing, it was just perfect vacation! I can not wait to go back! There wasn't one thing that was upsetting or misrepresented in anyway.
Owner response:Dear Ann, Thanks so much for being our guest. So glad you got to make use of the river - it is so wonderful to have such a clean clear river right behind our cabin. Hope you got to take advantage of all the wonderful hiking trails as well. Look forward to having you all as guests in our little piece of heaven again soon.

Sitting on the patio listening to the running river was so relaxing. The cabin was cozy and delivered all it promised. Youre far enough away from everything to feel secluded and alone with the wilderness. We were able to put our canoe in the river a few yards from the cabin and float down the river. The water was so clear in the river you could see the fish swimming in the river. Had a fantastic time cant wait to go back.
Owner response:Thanks Dee Dee - We hope you come back soon!

We had such a nice time. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer:-( We definitely hope to go back sometime in the fall. The cabin is so sweet. You have have done a wonderful job with creating a cozy indoor and outdoor home away from home. There is so much to explore so we only got a little taste on this trip, venturing up 105 to Linville Falls and relaxing around Lake James. So glad I found out about the cabin!
